I did not watch today's episode, I have given up, but I thought I would come on and read the posts for a bit.
I need to get this out of my system, I have wasted so much time on this show, to see it turn out like this.
It is obvious Gulabiya does not understand the difference between Sardhakai and respect through marriage, since she has been a Bedni for so long. Or she hates Vikram so much that anybody from off the streets can take Sugni. Sardhakai is worse than an illegal marriage to one man who loves you and does not want to see you live as a Bedni.
Yet, Gulabiya prefers Sardhakai, where her daughter can be sold many many times. So, in short she is saying she rather Sugni be a prostitute than stick with one man she hates, and does not care to understand.
This lady's motives are extremely questionable.
If she was a really strong Mother, someone I could respect, she would have grabbed her daughter from the bidding and slapped her a couple times, and taken her home. Told Adi and Vikram to go to hell, no one will take her daughter. Then pack their bags and leave town. However, she is weak, and that is what she taught her daughter all these years, to give up easily when things go wrong in their life. Gulabiya is just all talk, and her talk is cheap. She never had much influence in Sugni's life, or Sugni would not dare defy her Mother. As old as I am, I can't dare defy or back talk my Mother. Sugni was not brought up under much strong parental influence by her Mother.
Just my two cents, sue me.
