Trishika was shortlisted 2 play lead in madhubala

Trishika Tiwari who has been playing the role of the sister to the main lead in shows like Dehleez, Maati Ki Banno, Phulwa and the ongoing Byaah Hamari Bahu Ka (Sony Entertainment Television) wants to break away from this image and take up a lead role in the near future.

Says Trishika, "I want to try my hand at playing the main lead now. In fact I had been offered few protagonist roles before, but did not take it up as I was weary of the long working hours that I would have to endure as the lead. I had to let go of shows like Maharana Pratap on Star Plus and Jamunia on Imagine. But now I feel I am ready."

Trishika also confides in us that she was shortlisted for Madhubala on Colors along with another girl. "But then I was out of town and did not take the offer seriously. Later, I found out that the role was none other than that of Madhubala. But I do not regret giving it a miss as the role is being essayed by my sister Drashti Dhami (they had worked as siblings in Geet). She perfectly fits the role."

Although Trishika is known as the sister actor, she has done other roles as well. Talking about them, Trishika states, "I have done romantic roles opposite Gaurav Khanna in Santaan on Star Plus, Karan Wahi in Mere Ghar Aayee Ek Nanhi Pari on Colors. I have also done a historical Jhansi Ki Rani where I essayed the role of Vaishali, who was paired opposite Nana Saheb."
