Anas Rashid resumes shoot after recovering from typhoid

Wednesday, August 22, 2012 | 5:01:23 PM IST (+05:30 GMT) 1 Comments Anas Rashid resumes shoot after recovering from typhoid

Hectic shooting schedule took a toll on the popular actor's health...

Shashi Sumeet Productions' Diya Aur Baati Hum is now geared up with the grand finale of the ongoing Singapore's World Top Cook Competition. Managing a hectic shooting schedule in an international location and Delhi took a toll on Anas Rashid aka Sooraj Rathi's health. The actor fell ill after returning to Mumbai and was also hospitalized for a few days.

We spoke to Anas Rashid who told Tellybuzz that, "I was diagnosed with malaria in the initial stage and it was reported by the media too but after a thorough check up I was diagnosed with typhoid. I am better now."

Anas has resumed his shooting for the upcoming episodes of his show.

What are the symptoms of typhoid fever?

The incubation period is usually one to two weeks, and the duration of the illness is about four to six weeks. The patient experiences

  • poor appetite;
  • abdominal pain;
  • headaches;
  • generalized aches and pains;
  • fever, often up to 104 F;
  • lethargy (usually only if untreated);
  • intestinal bleeding or perforation (after two to three weeks of the disease);
  • diarrhea or constipation.

People with typhoid fever usually have a sustained fever as high as 103 F-104 F (39 C-40 C).

Chest congestion develops in many patients, and abdominal pain and discomfort are common. The fever becomes constant. Improvement occurs in the third and fourth week in those without complications. About 10% of patients have recurrent symptoms (relapse) after feeling better for one to two weeks. Relapses are actually more common in individuals treated with antibiotics.
