I am taking a break from masters planning just to write this rant. I am sure I will get chappals, tomatoes and the like thrown at me but I really could care less.

I am just sick and tired of people supporting TVS (I don't care for Adi either.)

1) People blaming G because she pried in to TVS's life. Erm...uh...okay, I guess if a mother suspects something she should just let it go because that's what most people with kids would do. I am not saying she is an amazing mother, but give her a break people. So she is a pusher and profoundly aggressive but what is the issue of a woman trying to protect her daughter?? I find it hilarious how people bring in petty arguments like she is so hypocritical, do any of you know one person who isn't? This is raw human emotion, people don't always act in black and white (in most soaps they do) but God forbid a drama show a mother messing up. However when has her intention ever been bad?? Doesn't mean she doesn't care for her daughter, I wouldn't want my daughter marrying a man with a wife...ask yourself, would you?

2) TVS- uhhh he may be a great guy in the beginning but how can everyone root for him to be back with Sugni when he has no intention of divorcing Riva (from what I have seen.) Can someone honestly argue that it is OK for a married man to take on another wife, how badly do people want to see a prince charming that they forgive these flaws? And the whole argument that his love is pure he just didn't want to hurt Sugni that's why he didn't tell her... ok, when he knows how Sugni is, I am sure he could have figured out this would only hurt her. Please stop justifying this crap.

3) Adi- what an annoying character! How can this guy (and his good for nothing mother...URGGHHH) take a 180? From being the most classist a**hole I have seen to now wanting to save Sugni...whatever. They need to do a lot more to redeem this guys character.

4) The concept of feminism- I posted a huge sphiel here a while ago about the show always being about a man having to play prince charming for a woman. You guys gave some great responses, that Vikram although born in a caste system does not see himself as superior and the show is about a thakur breaking the social norms to marry a bedni. Crucial point of my argument is still not answered, her liberation still comes from a man, she still needs a man to put her out of her misery. And the biggest display of that is men willing to buy her, and TVS buying her...hmmm now what does that reinforce? An bunch of alpa males ripping at each other to get a girl. How about TVS run her out of there and bring a gun instead and tell them "stop!" but no he resorted to buying.

5) As a woman I am ashamed of the male characters of this show. People also argued with me that her becoming something would mean something to the bednis in her society if she married a thakur. You want to give a girl that aspiration in life...if I married a thakur you can do it too! hey hey! What people fail to realize is this show is reinforcing the male and female dyanmic, that a woman constantly needs a man. Yes, we all need people in our life but interesting love stories on television always show the woman as dependent? My point is this show does not much for the liberation of the female race in terms of its portrayal on television, but reinforce a dynamic which perpetuates dependence

Thank you! Feel free to rant and disagree. And throw chappals.

I have called Gulabiya out on her hypocrisy today and yesterday because of her disregard for Amrita.

It's human to think of her daughter, yes. But what she's doing to Amrita makes her much like Vikram, who panicked and didn't think enough of the people he should've also thought about. Yeah Amrita is no one to Gulabiya whereas Vikram was wrong in lying to Sugni and doing much of the things he did.

Even so, my main worry from the beginning had been how/if they would screw over Amrita. And sure enough.

Oh sure, Gulabiya trusts Adi enough to not do anything to Sugni. So? Again, what about Amrita?

I haven't been watching either. 😆

Essentially Sugni goes on a self-destructive (perhaps revenge) mode. She agrees for Sardhakai. The auction is happening. Gulabiya asks Adi to save Sugni, reminds him of his 'vachchan' (which he had already fullfilled). Adi ends up doing her Sardhakai tomorrow. That's it in a nutshell. In between there's Vikram coming and trying to make sure Sugni isn't bought up by the leery Thakurs. How exactly it goes from Vikram to Adi, we'll see tomorrow.

As for feminism, yeah I agree. But also disagree somewhat. This show was never really about her rising above and never doing the Sardhakai. It was going to be something within the system, and her journey afterwards.

I think that's valid too, as long as it's handled and shown well.

Yes what about Amrita? Her parents were not willing to marry her into family where Mamaji was getting married ...though he did not know for a year that his wife was alive...
How is Adi going to explain to society or Amu's parents about Sugni's sardhakai?? Who will be willing to give her daughter to a Adi if he already has bedni !!!!
Did G think about all this? She has spoiled ADi's life, hurt Amu sooo badly ...just not to have sugni sardhakai to TVS...she is sooo dumb :((( And how does sugni agree to have ADI to sardhakai ...i dont understand that part too😡
Today the way she was ranting I just couldnt believe how lame it was ...

You are not supposed to question or understand ANYTHING. The show wants to promote this jodi and fans of it do not care and the new viewers, who have not seen anything on this show, don't care either and as for us? They don't care about us at all.

I dont think it is fair of G to be doing this to Amrita. However I am not referring to recent incident but it also doesn't excuse TVS or characters like Adi...he should get a clue as well

on your first point...I agree...gulabiya is a mom, and she will always look out for sugni...she is not educated, so her decisions are not always well thought or sorted out, nor are her arguments, but everything that she does is coming from love for her daughter...which mom would want her daughter to marry a married man? And which mom would want the same man to buy her daughter, because he "loves" her? I don't think any mom would want that...her going to aditya doesn't make sense, but she is at a point where she trusts him more than tvs, so I kind of sort of understand her going to him...also remember, if sugni remains involved with TVS, she is going to be viewed as some sort of home wrecker, and no mom wants that for her daughter...also, having her own sardakhai done, i'm 100% sure she doesn't want her daughter going through wut she went through...i sympathize...
on your second point...I also agree... TVS wants to have sugni to himself...that is not true love...true love is wanting the person that you love to be happy, even if it is not with yourself...I feel he is kind of obsessed with her...also, wut does it say about a man who is willing to divorce his mentally-ill wife? whatever happened to "in sickness and in health" wut if sugni loses her mind one day, will he move on to wife number three? he is not reliable...and definitely not a prince charming...
i get that circumstances were not in his favor, and in another time or place he and sugni wud have been happy, but it's not the case now, so he shud let it go...
on your third point...adi's character is kinda annoying and inconsistent...I think it's becuz the actor changed...but they have to better develop his character...I'm guessing that he will be the highest bidder...if so, I hope he takes her to the city...away from all the crazy...
on your fourth point...I also would have liked to see tvs or aditya would have gone there in full force and drove her out of there so she cud be free...not participate in the bidding...If both of them were against the whole bedni-buying thing, then why participate in it???...they should have brought a few guys with them...have a whole fighting scene and taken her out of there...and then send her on a train to the city with a bag of money...and it would be interesting to see sugni make it on her own in the city, and then return to the village as a successful, independent woman...
on your fifth point...not only on this show, but on practically all the shows, the male characters disgust me...so weak minded and far from prince-charming...
and so I conclude with not chappals, but with cheers for you...I've been feeling and thinking the same, but haven't had the strength to write it down, since I'm not as active on the forums...but your post inspired me...so thank you :-)
sorry for offending anyone, I certainly don't mean to...just expressing my views...

as for amrita...b4 gulabiya or any1 else cud think abt her, the creatives sent her away...they'll bring her back as a vamp later on...sadly, that is the only role left for her on this show, as shown on every other soap...
