Let's bring you a sneek-peek into all the preparations that went behind bringing the festivities into your homes.
From authentic bhajniks being invited to sing bhajans on the set, to 150 kgs of marigold flowers bought from the famous Krishna Temple at Madho Bagh, Mumbai, no stone was been left unturned to make this festival grand!
It's not that the festival was just enacted, it was celebrated in the same spirit as you would in the warmth of your homes. The bhajans sung were used as the main track to unfold the drama and a big cradle and the idol of Krishna-kanhaiya was decorated with marigold flowers, jewellery and accessories by the artists themselves.
As is the custom, on the eve of this festival a young child from the family is dressed as Krishna to break the matki, thus announcing the birth of Lord Krishna. So, on the insistence of the whole cast, the shoot of the matki-breaking sequence was put on hold till midnight. At midnight, Khushi Goenka, the youngest member of the Goenka family came in the garb of Bal Krishna and broke the matki.
The ambience and mood on the set was just as in a huge family at any Indian festival, all the cast and crew enthusiastically jumped with joys as Khushi broke the matki, even forgetting their shoot ahead.
