First of all, a very happy Independence Day to you, guys! Since I was able to get home early today, I watched the rerun episode of JJKN and caught up on the story. Today was a one-hour special episode.
According to the recap and what I remember of the original telecast, here is the Story So Far:
Gulati has been fired from GM and Armaan has made Jassi kind of acting Vice-President, Finance. He has given her Gulati's office and a raise. The Lavanya Creations bribery business ended with Jassi telling Armaan everything and thus foiling Aryan's plan to expose her "dishonesty" to Armaan.
Realising the delicacy of the situation, Armaan and Raj created another company, Kohinoor, under Jassi's name. Its sole task wuld be to provide financial assistance to GM when needed. This was a secret between Armaan, Jassi and Raj. Jassi tells only nandu and puts him in charge of making investments on Kohinoor's behalf. Billu papaji, who had lost his job, also gets employed in this new company.
The first thing Nandu does on getting this job is to find a girlfriend! She is called Cheshta (the same girl who now plays Esha in JLH) and believes in chasing the man who has money. Nandu impresses her by buying an expensive mobile phone.
GM's new line has been created using the cheap fabrics supplied by Lavanya. The designs are Maddy's but they haven't told him about the fabrics as he would throw a fit. Jassi is not happy with all this but as usual, gives in to Armaan's demands. They smuggle out the clothes for the fashion show (made with original fabrics) and replace them with the cheap ones. Now a PR prson called Vasundhara (Anuradha Patel) has come to help them organize the show. They have signed on Mandira Bedi to model the clothes.
Now here is Today's episode:
Sunidhi Chuahan and Shefali Zariwala (the Kaanta laga girl) are to perform at the show. Preparations are in full swing. The gang surrounds Jassi and demands a treat for her new promotion. Jassi is happy but wondering how Armaan would manage without her.
Armaan is pacing his cabin in tension. He bellows for Jassi but getting no response, opens the door of her cabin. Then he realizes that her cabin has been shifted to Gulati's. Raj walks in and teases Armaan by singing, "Yaad aa rahi hai….." He tells Armaan to close his eyes and call Jassi. He actually does that and the next moment, Jassi walks in! 😛(Raj's staggered expression was priceless😆) Armaan tells her to make sure that the clothes reach the models just before the show so that Maddy has no time to notice the switch. Raj keeps Maddy busy by telling him to change his outfit, which is not suiting him.
The clothes reach Maddy's space and the models start getting ready. Pari arrives and snubs the gang by saying that they won't be able to watch the show as employees are not allowed. She, however, has been put in charge of the show by Mallika so she will go. The gang swears that they will watch nevertheless. They manage to sneak in.
Vasundhara tells Armaan that Alan Kappor, an international promoter has come to watch their show. If it is successful, it would mean more business for GM.
Mandira finds that the outfit does not fit her well. When she pulls at it, the fabric tears. Maddy arrives and is aghast. He checks all the fabrics and finds they are the cheap ones. He calls production but they tell him that Armaan has ordered them not to hand over the original clothes. Maddy calls Armaan and tells him that he has ruined his collection by using such fabrics, and that if he had been a designer, he would have been ruined by now. Armaan angrily grabs Maddy's collar. Mallika comes on the scene and is shocked. Armaan insists that the show be held with the cheap fabrics. Maddy shoots back that he is resigning from GM. Mallika goes after him and tries to pacify him. She says that he can't leave the GM that he built through his creativity. Maddy agrees to stay on the condition that Armaan will apologise, and Mallika agrees.
Armaan rushes to his office and sits down in great tension. He tells Jassi to close the door from inside. Jassi asks if she should leave and he says, "Nahin, tum yahin raho…mere paas."
She goes up to him and he takes both her hands in his own. 😳Looking earnestly in her eyes, he asks her if he has made a mistake by buying fabrics from Lavanya. If the show does not work, he will be ruined. He pleads with Jassi never to leave him. Jassi faithfully insists that she never will and that she s in GM only for him. She will always stay with him.
(Ahemmmm……note the pressure of his hands on hers, and his thumb running over her fingers. Hema was right: the chemical reaction started early on!😉😳)
There is a sharp knock on the door. Jassi realizes that she has been dreaming. 😆Armaan curtly tells her to open the door. Mallika enters and demands, "Yeh band kamre mein kya ho raha tha?" 😆Armaan shoots back, "Jassi ke saath romance" 😕but Mallika is not impressed by his joke. She asks him what he meant by buying cheap fabrics. Armaan retorts that he is doing all this to increase GM's profits and the show will be held, come what may.
The show is finally held and is a success. But Alan looks disturbed. He goes and checks the fabrics. Vasundhara asks him for his opinion and he says, "Terrible". The designs are great but the fabrics are pathetic. This collection would not work in the local market, let alone international. He leaves. Vasundhara retuns to speak to Armaan. Jassi asks her the verdict and she tells her that the show is a hit but the collection is a flop. 😭Jassi is shocked and looks back apprehensively at Armaan.
That's all for today. Luckily I have two more days holiday for Janamashtami, so if all goes well I will update tomorrow and day after too.😛
