Lost in translation, I feel disappointed I am unable to understand the song in its completeness, my loss. I am unsure about this update; it's neither a peak nor a valley more like a plateau. I am talking about emotional geography here, Arnav is slowly understanding the dynamics of Kashi's life be it Nalan's presence or her grief. The more he gets to know her the more he understands who she is and why she is this way. His reaction to her expression of grief earned him a few points; it takes a strong man to turn his back on an adversary's grief.
The Arnav-Kashi interactions are interesting and so are Arnav-Nalan, Nalan is like that dedicated lieutenant in Kashi's army who keeps an eye on the enemy always. He is drawn to Arnav due to sheer curiosity and never lets him forget where his loyalties lie.
Observation – I disagree with Arnav, Kashi may walk hurriedly like she is ticking off a to-do list in her mind that does not mean she is a bad dancer. I take Lata Mangeshkar's example the lady's voice grates on your nerves when she speaks and the same lady when she sings the voice transforms. A lesson Arnav, everything is not as it appears, one has to look longer and deeper to understand the subject in totality.
I took the liberty of adding one of my favorite songs from an old Mani Ratnam movie Thalapathi 1991, this song's link and its meaning are given below.
thalapathi-yamunai aatrile eera
English Translation
In Yamuna river, in the humid air,
To dance with Krishna
As dream flowers, to watch the path,
Young Radha wilts.
Night has passed, day has passed,
The king is not with her
The young girl's unblinking eyes
Search here and there
Krishna isn't in the cow-hearding grounds
To love is a sweet-lovely-torture-trouble
Poor Radha…
