Actor Ankit Gera, who plays Mayank in Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke has to travel daily for one and a half hours to reach his sets in a distant suburb of Mumbai. The actor's travel time can stretch to over three hours during peak traffic.
"I travel over 100 km everyday from my home to the set and back. The set which is situated in Naigaon is new and does not have a canteen yet," says Ankit.
So the actor has to carry his meals with him everyday. "I start my day early and carry four basic meals along with all kinds of munchies to gorge on during my free time. I also carry an ice box because it acts like a mini fridge for me where I can keep all my drinks," he shares.
Ankit also has a microwave in his car to warm the cooked food which he brings from home. "Unfortunately, I can't eat outside because of hygiene and I fall ill pretty soon. And we don't have a good eating joint in the vicinity of our sets. There was a time when I wrapped up my schedule at five in the morning and got nothing to eat." The place only has a dairy and Ankit says, "We can only have a glass of lassi whenever we are hungry."
So, for the actor, it is a daily picnic - travelling for over a 100 km and then gorging on food from home.
