It was a rainy day. Arnav was driving back home from work. Recently he had been working over time avoiding everyone. He couldn't bare to go home but every evening he had forced himself to go.
It had been 8 months since Khushi had left. Dadi had driven her out of the house, not physically but emotionally. Dadi believed that it was Khushi's fault that Anjali's marriage had broken down but when Arnav had confronted her, it was too late. Both Dadi and Arnav had walked into a "Khushi free" room. She had left without protest. She left without telling Arnav. She left taking all her belongings. No one would have said that Khushi lived in the Raizada mansion in the first place. There was not a single trace of khushi to be found.
Neither the Guptas nor the Raizadas knew where she was. They searched for her, but she was nowhere to be found. Its as if she had vanished from the face of the earth. Arnav blamed his Dadi for his loss. Even mami ji was missing her phati Saree. Payal and Akash's marriage had been on the rocks ever since. Khushi - happIness was a thing of the past in the household.
Khushi decided to start afresh. She had moved into a small house near Lucknow with the help of Lavanya - who was sworn to secrecy about Khushis whereabouts. Little did Arnav know, his wife was heavily pregnant. 8 months to be exact. In a few weeks time she would give birth to a beautiful baby boy. Every night she would cry to sleep. She would question her decision about running away. He wanted her son to have a father but she didn't want her child to grow up in a household where his mother, Khushi was always blamed for everything that went wrong.
9 months had passed. It was Khushis due date. She had made her way to the hospital In Lucknow with the help of her neighbour, Sherya aunty. She had supported khushi through her tough times. Little did khushi know that the Raizadas were also in Lucknow.
Khushi made her way to the maternity ward all of a sudden she felt a tingle. Khushi ignored it. Within a few minutes her waters were broken and then began her cries. She cried for Arnav. The nurses asked if they should call him but she said no. Khushi was in labour for hours, the pain had increased but so did her need for Arnav.
Arnav gazed upon the stars, "I don't know why Khushi it feels as if you're so close to me. I feel as if you're calling me. Khushi please come back home". Within a few moments Khushi gave birth to Ayaan Singh Raizada. She had done it alone. She called her son ASR. "My beautiful ASR", whispered Khushi. She couldn't wait to get him home.
It was a year since Khushi had left home and 3 months since baby ASR had been born. She had not told her family about the new arrival. She decided that she would never tell them, until one day..
It was holi, Shreya aunty decided to take Khushi and baby ASR back to Lucknow to visit some friends. They were planning to stay there for some time. At first Khushi refused but Shreya aunty was pretty convincing. They spent the whole day at Shreya auntys friends house until Khushi said "Shreya aunty, I'm going to take Ayaan for a walk. I'll be back I'm a bit" and she left.
She walked around the markets, admiring the ornaments and decorations. "Ayaan, when you grow up your mummy and you will celebrate holi together", she said kissing baby ASR. She carried on walking until she spotted a bangle store. "Oh wowww, Ayaan your mummy loves bangles. Remember to buy mummy lots of bangles when you grow up" said khushi excitedly. She looked around but nothing caught her eye, she carried on walking until she bumped into the back ofa tall man. "I'm sor.." khushi began to say until she realised that she didn't bump into any old man but she had bumped into Arnav Singh Raizada.
"Khushi?!" Cried arnav. "Khushi where ha.." he began to say until he saw a baby in Khushis arms. Khushi was in awe. She didn't know what to say. She just blinked back and forth from ASR junior and ASR senior. "Khushi where have you been?!" Said arnav with his eyes fixated on the baby. "Khushi answer me damnit!" Shouted arnav. Khushi didn't reply. She gestured him to walk out the crowd with her.
Arnav looked at khushi, waiting for answers. Khushi thought for a while, she curled her lips. "Arnav ji, meet my son. Ayaan.". "Is he.." Arnav began to say. "Yes he is yours" replied khushi. Arnav looked lost and confused, he didn't know what to do. Whether to hug his wife and son or scold at Khushi. Khushi looked at Arnav all teary eyed. She recollected all the memories she shared with him. She knew she had made a grave mistake leaving Arnav. Before either of them could say anything Khushi embraced Arnav. "I'm sorry Arnav ji, I didn't want to leave you and by the time I had realised what I had done it was too late to go back" cried khushi.
After months of agony, pain and tears Arnav had gotten his wife back. He wrapped his arms around her, "shhh khushi. Don't cry. Don't apologise, me and my family put you through a lot. I'm sorry, I pushed you to make this decision. But please come back home". Khushi pulled herself away from Arnav, she looked at Ayaan and contemplated. "No, I can't" said Khushi, "it's been too long. I've started afresh. Plus no one would accept me now". Arnav turned around. He was angry. "Are you mad khushi?! Since you left everyone has been praying for your return. How could you be so selfish?! Day in day out we've been praying for your safety. I thought I had lost you. Don't yout even care about your parents? Don't you care about me?!" Shouted arnav. Just then Ayaan began to cry, he had caught his father's attention.
Arnav took Ayaan from Khushis hands. "Please Khushi, come back" he begged. After many more confrontations Khushi had finally agreed. She was going home after a year.
