Apoorva Agnihotri and Surveen Chawla, who were last seen in Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahin and Kahiin To Hoga respectively, have shunned several offers and have been lying low professionally for the last few months. But now the pair is all set to return to television.
In what will be an interesting pairing, the two actors have been finalised to play the lead in a daily show to be aired on Sony. Twenty Twenty, the television and new media subsidiary of K Sera Sera, will produce the yet-untitled show.
Early days
Kacon Sethi (CEO, K Sera Sera), who set up Twenty Twenty in December 2004, wanted to keep the news under wraps. "It is too early to talk about the show," she said.
Rati Agnihotri will also be a part of the serial. Said our well placed source, "Rati will play the head of a matriarchal family. There will be other actors in this show, which will be based on family relationships. The main focus will be on Apoorva, Surveen and Rati."
Shooting to begin
Apart from Kahiin To Hoga where she played Charu, Surveen acted in Kasautii Zindagii Kay. She was also cast as the lead character Grishma in Balaji's Krimson Skies (slated for Star One), but it hasn't yet seen the light of day yet. Amit Tandon, and Moonmoon had also been finalised for Krimson Skies.
Apoorva started his career in 1997 with Subhash Ghai's Pardes. An extremely media-shy actor, he is married to Shilpa Saklani (Ganga of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi). He played Armaan Suri in Sony's landmark show Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahin, which landed him the Best Actor award at Indian Telly Awards last year.
Shooting for the new show begins in a few days, and will be aired starting October.
