I can see why you are worried, for Arjun does look a bit poleaxed in the precap, when Archana formally offers him Purvi's hand, and this is on top of his wanting to talk to Manav.
The latter, I agree with you, is probably just to apologise for contravening Manav's instructions and barging in; he says that to himself as he is driving behind Manav's car on the way to the rendezvous with Vishnu & Co.
I am using Co. , instead of 'gang', because I was suddenly reminded of Ram Gopal Varma's excellent film noir, Company, about the world of the Mumbai mafia. That film had the sub-title, 'A law and order enterprise', and that would be a perfect fit for Balan and Vishnu & Co. as well!
But apart from that, I think Arjun's look portends, at least to me, that he is going to say what you have touched on above: that he does not want any khairat, and would insist on earning that money all over again. Archana will then tell him what DK had explained to her, and I hope that it ends then and there.
I think it will, if only because the focus is all set to move to Vishnu now. Arjun-Purvi, except for a few oh so chweet scenes of her playing nurse** to him, will soon be shifted to the wings of the theatre. In fact, Arjun seems to have recovered with dismaying rapidity, as he is standing up when Archana is speaking to him, and that shows where the current priorities of the CVs lie.

**Laurie, MDs pay only fleeting visits to the bedside of their patients, surrounded by a crowd of obsequious juniors. They do not feed their patient, comb his hair, wipe his face with eau de cologne, plump up his pillows ever so gently, and generally hold his hand, not to speak of buying some pyjamas for him. So no Purvi MD please!

Shyamala,Thanks for the reassurance about Arjun..who knows what this silly boy will do. I am just worried Purvi's sanskaaris have rubbed off of him, where she is getting to be bindaas about it..😊..Moreover, he did ask to speak to Manav..Maybe just to apologise for coming in to the rescue even when he was told not to.The @red was just too hilarious !!! 🤣.. Leave it to you, Shyamala, to bring that up... I am just ROFL almost ...cant do it at work though 😃..

Jyothi,
No, Arjun is not going to wait for his idol to smile on him before he claims his Purvi. He has always seen Archana Aunty's (his term, not mine!) consent as the sole, and both necessary and sufficient condition for him to do this, and there is no reason for him to change this stand.

PS: Why did DK, otherwise so thorough, not look into the matter of pyjamas for his convalescent boy, even if Purvi felt shy to flag the point? They were putting him to bed in tight jeans, which must the most uncomfortable bedwear, and cannot be expected to hasten his recovery!
