I am ready to make a big announcement soon ' Ragini Khanna
The ever-smiling, spunky Ragini Khanna is back on television hosting the popular celeb dance show Jhalak Dikhla Ja where she was a participant last year. Here, she talks to us about hosting the show, her days after Sasural Genda Phool, and about being a performer.

So, how is it being back on the Jhalak Dikhla Ja sets, this time as an anchor?
Honestly, I have better memories of the last season when I was a participant. Anchoring is more about presenting, while I am a performer who loves to perform. That's why whenever I have to put on my dancing shoes and perform in this season, I love doing it. However, being an anchor too feels good since I have been hosting shows otherwise but with Jhalak Dikhla Ja, it's a different world and experience altogether.
From fiction to reality shows to comedy and anchoring ' what do you like doing the most?
Acting will always be my first love and I enjoy dancing too. I give preference to good work whatever the medium so be it films or television, I am an artist who loves being in this profession. I like to do fiction and after seeing me perform comedy, many people have asked why I don't focus more on it. But I choose projects and not characters which is a creative decision, and not in my hands.
You are also a trained singer'
I wanted to be singer when I was very young and thus got trained for it. However, once acting happened, my skills started getting honed in that direction. So I never ventured into the world of singing and these days I don't get time to do riyaaz. Taking up professional singing is my long-term plan.
Given the popularity, will we see you again in Season 2 of Sasural Genda Phool if it happens?
Of course! I miss the show and I am still getting feedback that the audience misses it a lot too. If Season 2 of Sasural Genda Phool happens, then I am sure all of us from the original team would want to be a part of it.
Your new trendy, glam look has also received a positive response.
Yes, and I am happy about it because it is a necessity in the industry. There was a time when I was playing the main lead, which meant I was on the sets through the day and eating a lot while bonding with co-actors. Once that stopped, I became more disciplined,
turned to good eating habits, and working out at the gym which also turned me into a positive person. The response to the new me is
very encouraging. And what kind of offers has it generated?
The offers for films and television have never stopped, but soon I will be ready to make a big announcement, so watch this space for more.
