I'm aware about cousin-marriage in Southern India.. and that is why I mentioned about exceptions. But in IPK it won't happen, as you pointed out yourself.

Marriages between cousins is nothing wrong/ gross as long as they are not first cousins which is also not gross...but just not done coz that can cause birth complications. Any cousin who is not first cousin is considered ok for marriage, it is not rare in Hindu religion. I am Hindu and I kno many ppl around me who ve gone for cousin marriages. For eg. Bua's son/ daughter can marry bua's cousin's daughter/ son.
But they wont show it on tv coz people may find it incest. I just wanted to let u guys kno dat there is nthg gross/ sick abt it. ^_^
