Anandi sat besides Shiv and tried to avoid his gaze.
'comfortable?' asked Shiv
Anandi looked at him and nodded.
'Acha bhai sabh chalayn abh!'shouted Rithul
Shiv gave a thumbs up in response and all of them drove towards the road.
Shiv who was behind his brothers, put one hand on the steering and tried to open the car draw towards his left.
'Main Madad kar dun?' asked Anandi
'Han voh main bas ek CD nikal raha tha' Said shiv smiling sheepishly
Anandi looked at him and then hid her smile
'Konsa' she asked
'Kishore da kay' he said
'aapko puranay ganay achay lagthay hain?' asked Anandi
Shiv nodded
'aapko?'
'Maine kabhi ithnay sunay nahi' she said earnestly. Living under Dadisa's roof they did not get much chance to go to movies nor listen to songs.
Anandi then put the CD and turned it on
'meray sapnon ki rani kab aayegi thu, ayi ruth mastani kab ayegi thu, beeti jaye zindagani kab aayegi thu... chali aa , thu chali aa'... Played the song
Anandi tried to avoid the gaze of Shiv.
'Pata hai main 7th standard main tha jab maine pehli dafa ye gana suna' said shiv a bit loudly to make his voice clearer
Anandi reduced the volume and nodded her head, indicating him to repeat
Shiv smiled and continued
'Main 7th class main tha jab maine pehli dafa ye gana suna. Mujhe aur papa ko road trips per jana bohot acha lagtha tha, tho jab bhi hum jathay , papa yeh hi gana lagaya kerthay. Mujhe us waqt tho samaj nahi aya lekin abh mujhe pata hai ki voh Mom ko tang kernay ke liye kerthay thay' He said smiling
Anandi smiled back.
'Lagtha hai ki Rithul ji aapkay papa ki tarah hai aur aap Neel ji ki tarah' she said
'Are ye aapnay kaise decide kiya! mana ki Rithul bhaiyyah Romantic banay firthay hain, lekin main bhi kuch kam nahi hun, if given the opportunity.' he said smiling. His smile faded a bit as soon as he realized what he had said.
Anandi, gave him a side glance and then turned her face away to look at the trees that were fast running past her.
Phool si khilke, paas aa dil ke
Door se milke chain na aaye (the song continued in the background)
Aur kab tak mujhe tadpaayegi tu
Mere sapnon ki rani kab aayegi tu
They drove for another hour
'Anandi ji' Said shiv mustering up the courage once more
'ji' said Anandi looking at him
'Zara ikshu ko phone lagayiye aur puchiye ki kya ker rahe hain'
'Bhaiyyah sey kahiyega ki abhi thodi dair main stop kernay walay hain'
Said Ikshu when Anandi asked him about the destination.
They had reached the most sought after attraction in Udaipur, the Udaipur Ropeway Point.
The ropeway is installed between two mountains right on the bank of Lake pichola.
Everyone parked their cars in the allocated area and went ahead towards hill top.
Anandi quickly joined Naina and Ishika while Ikshu, Rithul and Shiv walked together.
'Anandi ropeway sey thumko sara Udaipur nazar aayega' Said Naina excitedly
'Han Lake Pichola, Fateh sagar, City palace, Sajjangarh aur mountain view' added Ishika
Anandi listened quietly and tried to grasp the beautiful scenery around her. Soon they reached the place where they were to get onto the sky ride.
Two people on to one cart was the decision that was made.
Annadi wanted to go with Naina but Rithul had rushed in as if trying to avoid any unwanted suggestions from her. Her desire to ride with Ishika also failed when Ikshu had rushed into the next cart.
'Chaliye' said shiv.
The Cart stumbled a bit as the members got in.
Anandi who was ahead of Shiv, had never sat on a sky cart. The slight moment of the cart which was suspended in air, held by the thick electric wire on the top scared her a bit. As she stepped inside the cart she felt it move back and forth. Losing balance she fell slightly backward only to be caught by Shiv who was standing right besides her. He held her shoulders and slightly gave her a nudge which helped her get inside the cart. He then followed her and sat opposite to her.
Anandi saw the other Sky Carts leave. Soon their cart started to move. Anandi held on to the iron railings that were present inside the cart and closed her eyes.
Shiv who was noticing Anandi smiled at her child like fear.
'Anandi ji..ghabrayiye math. Main hun na' he said
Anandi opened her eyes and saw herself suspended in mid air. For a moment she wanted to scream but shiv's presence made her think twice.
Shiv noticed her reaction
'Anandi ji... aapki baat ma sey hui thi na. Unhonay aapsey kya kaha tha.' He asked seriously
Anandi, clearly taken aback did not know what to respond to him. She did not want to get into this conversation, not now but she had nowhere to go.
'ji...' is all that she could muster
'Anandi ji please batayiye na. Ma nay mujhe kuch nahi bataya aur us din sey main bohot pareshan hun ki , akhir baat kya hui hogi' he continued seriously
'Collec..'started Anandi
'Shiv' interrupted Shiv, suggesting Anandi to call him by his name
'Shiv ji, unhonay kuch khaas nahi kaha. Bas yahi ki...' Anandi stopped thinking about what Hansa had told her.
'Anandi ji udhar dekhiye...' said shiv suddenly
Anandi looked at Shiv and turned towards the direction where he was pointing. There she saw the most beautiful of the sights. Green luscious mountains, Blue Lakes that reflected the depth of skies, Palaces and forts that sang the history of Udaipur where glaring at her.
'Taken aback by the beauty of the what she was seeing, Anandi held her breath as long as she could muster'
'Click' came the sound of the camera
Anandi looked at shiv and saw that he was taking her picture
'Ye aap kya ker rahe hain' she asked surprised
'aapkay expressions ko capture ker raha hun' smiled shiv
'Abh dar kam hua?' he asked her
Anandi realized that Shiv had deliberately changed the topic so that her fear of heights would lessen and she could enjoy the sights that were waiting for her.
Anandi smiled back at Shiv and looked around to absorb more of the beautiful scenery.
Then Suddenly there was a violent jerk!
Anandi's eyes turned from delight to that of fear. She saw shiv who also looked worried as he glanced up towards the roof of the sky ride.
'ye Kya ho raha hai shiv ji' she asked fearfully
'Pata nahi Anandi. Thum baito main pata kertha hun'
