Day 10
Some youths are playing cricket in front of Sharma Nivas.
Batman: no 10 jersey is lucky to any form of sport be it cricket or football. But in hitler case, number 10 is unique for her. All these days nothing happened to her, but don't know what will happen to her. (He slams a shot) However, hitler didi is not a person who will give up so easily. She is ready to fulfil her wishes and this time she will be successful.
He slams a shot again, Ishaan happens to catch the ball when it falls into the compound of Sharma Nivas. The Sharma family members are curiously and anxiously looking on top towards Inshi's room, which puzzles Ishaan.
Ishaan: Why are you people looking on top like pigeon? Will someone tell me?
Munna: (angrily)Shut up. Don't make fun of us now.
Sunaina: (weeping) But why are you scolding him?
Kutumb: (admonishes Munna) he has a habit since childhood of showing his temper on another person not concerned.
Ishaan: (throwing ball in air) but what is happening?
Indar: your buha has come to know that we had faked her chautha yesterday and she is quiet about this matter since then. Now we do not know with whom she will do chautha next. (Others walk around anxiously looking on top)
Ishaan: (puzzled) But what is chautha?
Munna: Hey, You question box. Why don't you keep quiet? Always asking too many questions. Just give me time to think of an idea… Oh I already got an idea (everyone turn to him) now whoever planned the chautha will be accused.
Mandira: bhaiya, you are the one who planned it. (Sunaina wails)
Munna fearfully tells them that he will escape. However, Kutumb stops him saying he was the one who planned and organised it. Indira is coming from the balcony calling out to Munna. Munna goes terrified and hides his face with a plant with a pot at a corner.
Indira: ( comes down and asks Kutumb) where is bhai?
Kutumb: (stutters) he should be somewhere in the house. (Sunaina gives a wail and Kutumb warns her to keep quiet.)
Indar: (stops Indira and stutters) babli wait, see babli whatever happened yesterday. I am sorry and I feel embarrassed. (Munna tiptoes into the house hiding his face behind the plant) Please forgive me.
Kutumb too agrees and asks for forgiveness. Indira gives them a stern glance and walks inside calling out for Munna. Indar grumbles that she didn't even speak a word and it means she is very angry. Indira is searching in every room. Suddenly, she spots someone whose back is facing her and is covered with dupatta while feeding Sehar.
Indira: Bhabi, oh I am sorry. Are you feeding Sehar? (the person nods the head) did you see bhai. (the person shakes the head) then where did he go this morning. (she walks away and Munna reveals his face from the dupatta.)
Sunaina: (giving a cup of tea to indira, who is baffled by her appearance) Here take this tea. I know you that you are feeling bad. But what to do. Munna did the wrong thing. He was scared of those goondas and wanted to escape from their clutches. Please forgive us.
Indira: (baffled) please keep quiet. If you are here, then who is there with Sehar?
Sunaina: (baffled) who?
Indira: (gets a flash) Ok now I got who that would be.
She leaves the cup in Sunaina hands and walks to the room to find the dupatta carelessly thrown on the bed. Indira calls out for Munna. Munna darts outside Sharma Nivas and upon seeing a cycle parked nearby, he get on it and starts pedalling without knowledge that the cycle stand is fixed to the ground. Indira comes at the entrance to see the sight, she tells Munna that he has forgotten to lift the stand and it is not use pedalling the cycle in a fast pace.
Munna: (sight his mistake , gets down the cycle looking remorseful and blurts out hastily) I am sorry for what I had done. The goondas were after my life and I need to save myself and hence had to do it. Now you are angry with me and you are in mood to beat me, (he gets a stick from a pot and offers her) now beat me (closes his eyes and offers his palm)
Indira: (looks at the stick and then she ties a rakhi around his fist to his surprise) Yes today is raksha bandan and I know very well you always forget it. That is why I was searching for you since early morning or else I would have to wait for you the whole day long if you go out.(Munna is touched) come lets celebrate it.
The raksha bandhan rituals take place. Indira is tying rakhi on Munna hands and Sunaina is tying rakhi on Rishi hand. The girls take the arthi of their brothers and Sunaina ask Rishi for gift. Rishi gives her a coin to everyone's amusement and later hands her some notes promising her to bring her a gift from his first salary. Sunaina is pleased. Indira asks Munna for her gift.
Munna: (goes remorseful) I have nothing to give you. You always did something for me and I have not performed any of brotherly duty towards you. You have done a duty as a brother to me and hence I need to tie a rakhi on you. (Indira is surprised. Munna takes a rakhi and is about to tie but Indira refuses)
Indira: (yells) what are you doing, bhai?
Munna: let me do it Indira. You are the eldest son. (Indira goes tearful) and hence I will tie rakhi on you every year.
Indira: (gets a prick and stammers) every year.
Munna: Yes, every year. I do not have anything to give you now. Now I will promise that there will be no obstacles in fulfilling your dreams. During crisis, I will come between you and obstacles. (Indira keeps her hand over his mouth).
Indira: See bhai, Don't change the value of Raksha Bandhan. I am tying this Rakhi for the sake of your longevity and better not talk like this anymore.
Later, Indira helps Sehar tie rakhi on Ishaan and Mandira tie rakhi on Munna. Sunaina reminds them of Vidit and Indar reminds them of Dulhari. Indira goes annoyed and chides Sunaina not to bring up names of people who were unfaithful to them. Rishi glowers at her and walks upstairs.
At Inshi's room
Indira: (enters the room to see Rishi upset and his back turned away from her. She approaches him hesitantly) are you still angry? (Rishi nods his head without turning around and weeps) Now turn around and tell me. (She turns him around and touches his face) now tell me face to face that you are angry with me?
Rishi: (roars into laughter surprising her) Shrimatiji how can any husband be angry for a long time while having a loving and a doting wife like you. (Indira smiles) actually, today is raksha bhandan and the wife will always be after brothers instead of husband so I had to grab your attention and hence did this and how can I be without sticky towards you. (He lightly bumps into her)
Indira: Rishi, you are good actor. (Rishi is delighted and tells thanks) Now come out of your acting mood and let's go to work. It is already late. (she goes to take her handbag)
Rishi: (taking his bag) Shrimatiji, How much is my salary?
Indira: Rs. 8k
Rishi: If I had to earn Rs. 25 lakhs, how many years and months will it take?
Indira: (calculates) 312 months.
Rishi: Now, if I earn this Rs.25 lakhs in this 20 days then ..
Indira: (look at him in disbelief) What ? 25 lakhs in 20 days. (Rishi nods cheerfully as Indira looks thoughtful) how is it possible?
Rishi : (takes out a poster of Jhoom barabar jhoom and Indira takes it to read) This a dance contest and the winner is rewarded with Rs.25 lakhs.
Indira: so
Rishi: So what? I will participate in this dance.
Indira: will you dance?
Rishi: (nods his head cheerfully) you Shrimatiji, this 9-5 job is not for me . I am looking into a bigger and different scheme in life. (puts an arm on her shoulder) I wish you too participate with me. But now you cant do it since you are pregnant. ( Indira goes gloomy) what? Don't need to shocked. I know that you loved to dance since childhood and so can I participate.
Indira: (Playfully) not, like this. First, I need to judge your dance performance
Rishi: (confidently) why not?
Indira goes to turn on the music system and munni badnam hui is playing.
Rishi: (awkward) Shrimatiji, this is women song. How can I dance with this tune?
Indira: How is it not possible? A passionate dancer will dance to any tune. Come on dance now (rishi agrees) 1 2 3 start.
Rishi performs a dance that is in fast pace and not synchronizing to the music. Indira look at him in dismay and smiles at his performance.
Rishi: (proudly) now tell me how did I do?
Indira: mind blowing and now you deserve a reward. Wait, I Will get you the reward.
Rishi: (goes pleased and impatient looking at Indira while she picks something from her handbag) munni badnam hui darling tere liya
Indira: (blesses him with a note) Oh my angel, please take this.
Rishi: (annoyed) you have given me Rs. 25.
Indira: This is enough for your performance. Please come down to earth now and stop dreaming. (rishi tries to call her but she is in hurry to leave for work)
Rishi: (stuttering) Please listen, if I made mistakes I will surely correct them and practise.
Indira goes annoyed and strictly rejects it. She crushes the poster and tosses it away to Rishi's disappointment. Her mobile rings and she grumbles .rishi snatches the phone from her hand and answer it signalling her to be quiet as she yells at him.
Rishi: (into the phone) Indira Sharma is not available right now. Please call…
Woman: Oh I am calling from Saubhagyavati matrimonial bureau. I need to talk about alliance.
Rishi: (shocked to hear this and turns to Indira.) saubhagyavathi marriage bureau.
Indira: (grabs the phone) hello, wrong no… (The woman is baffled and rishi looks suspicious) do not know who keeps calling.
Rishi: Wrong no? People are just mad making such calls. Do you intend to get married again?
Indira: (goes dumbfounded as Rishi stares at her) perhaps do you have the intention to dance?
Rishi: yes, now I promise that…
Indira : No way. That;'s it. I am getting late bye.
Rishi: (happily)one minute. I need to talk to you..
Indira; (bored) now what?
Rishi: I forgot about this one during our talks. (he plants a quick kiss on her cheek)
Indira: (yells) rishi
Rishi: This is what I call a husband's torture on wife and no one can disturb the husband. (Gets a box from Indira) oye..
Indira: Now bye. See you later. (Walks away hurriedly)
Rishi: (takes his bag delightfully) munni badnam hui darling tere liya
Indira comes to Sharma Nivas courtyard to see Munna fondling Sehar before placing her in cradle and walks away. Ishaan is constantly tossing the ball on the roof nearby.
Indira: (moves away from them and calls Saubhagyavati matrimonial bureau) I wasn't able to talk to you that time.( She see Ishaan tossing the ball towards the ceiling. Small pieces of plastering loosen and fall down near the cradle.) Ishaan don't do that. I am sorry (to woman) tell me.
Woman: no problem. I just called to inform that a family has arrived from Chandigarh. I am looking for an alliance for the girl and that girl is most suitable. They have time to meet you tomorrow.
Indira: (watching Ishaan playing with the ball) ishaan,
Woman: So can I set up the meeting tomorrow?
Indira : Sorry, Yes…You can set the meeting tomorrow
She disconnects the call to see a medium chunk of plastering falling from the ceiling. Ishaan moves away from it. Another larger chunk of plastering is loosening up and is about to fall near the cradle .Indira looks at it in alarm and rush towards the cradle screaming out Sehar's name. Munna pulls her back before she reaches the cradle and the chunk lands on the ground a few inches away from it. Indira is shaken up and shouts for Sehar anxiously lying in Munna's arms. Munna looks in front of them and tells her to relax and nothing has happened to Sehar. He points to Ishaan holding Sehar in his arms. Indira rushes to Sehar and holds her emotionally. She kisses both of them. Munna takes Sehar in his arms. Indira appreciates Ishaan's act in saving Sehar and suggest him to keep protecting his sister in this way. Munna from behind her blurts out that he too will protect her from any hazards and even from death. Indira closes her hand over his mouth and asks him not to talk in these matters.
Indira :( becomes anxious) what to do with this plastering? New day and new trouble.
Mason: (talking to Indira) I don't know how you people are staying in this house? After years of rainfall and dampness, the walls and ceiling have become feeble. In case a earthquake happens the situation will worsen. I heard so many mishaps like this happening in such houses. Please believe me and renovate your house as soon as possible.
Indira: How much will the renovation cost?
Manson: labour and material cost will come around Rs. 5.5 lakhs. However, I will give you 10% discount and you can get it done for Rs.5 lakhs.
Indira: (goes worried as mason walks away) as my days lessen, the expenses are increasing. From where can I get this 5 lakhs?
Radhe is dancing on a vehicle holding the Jhoom barabar Jhoom banner coming near Sharma Nivas. The crushed poster moves from the ground and lands where Indira is standing. She picks it up and sees the amount Rs. 25 lakhs reward in the poster. Later, Radhe broadcasts to everyone about the dance contest. Indira listens to his speech and smiles when she hears him say "win Rs.25 lakhs".
Precap: The family from Chandigarh come to meet Indira and Rishi at Sharma Nivas. The man blurts out to them that they were supposed to meet Indira at a place to discuss about the alliance but she did not turn up there and hence came to her place. Rishi asks them whose alliance. The woman blurts out rishi kumar and Indira has approached them for this alliance. Rishi gives a quizzical glance at Indira who is stunned.
