I would love to, but it seems too greasy, fried in a deep oil.

Yes, kabakaba can you please put a notice in serbian/croatian not to continue this thread...
and to move to thread 2. with a link, so that anyone can automatically go there.
already one member has pointed out that we should not be on page 152.
I dont know what the problem is, but it is not advisable to continue beyond page 150 ... it puts a load on the forum.

cardigan -- it is 100 gms of maida -- maida is refined wheat flour -- the kind of flour used for baking in cakes and pastries.
Whole wheat flour -- (brown variety) used in making bread etc. is made from the wheat as it is including the outer covering -- husk.
Maida (refined) -- is white in colour and often bleached ... and is made after removing the outer cover of the wheat -- only the inner contents are powdered.

Now I understand, we call it soft flour as it is soft to the touch. Thank you, I'll try to make jalebis for my niece and nephews, though, I'd rather make some "salty" dish with vegetables for myself, you know, with aubergine, zucchini, string beans, peppers (not hot)...Is there some traditional dish like it in Indian cuisine? I heard that in BV they mentioned "pakoda" or sth similar.
