Before the leap, Priya took the blame on Sid's goof up with the pharmaceutical company in Priya's name. So, Priya was sentenced to 14 years jail. Enroute from one jail to another, Priya's van meets with an accident and she is assumed dead. She is alive and meets Kady (who is a child then) and her mom Jyothi who dies in the same accident. She is entrusted with the responsibility of taking Kady to Dubai to hand her over to Jyothi's friend Mr. Rajat Kapur. So, Priya goes to Dubai and settles down there with managing a book store owned by Rajat Kapur. It is revealed that she is pregnant when she is in jail, however she does not convey the news to anyone including Ram Kapoor. So, Priya raises Pihu as a single mom. Ram and Priya's daughter is Pihu.
