We are being too hard on her aren't we? If she hadn't made it big, no one would care. The fruit bearing tree gets stoned I guess.
Even if all those supposed theories of her past is true, maybe she has truly changed and wanted to start a fresh page with her life. We think she's pretending to be an innocent, traditional girl. But maybe she has become that. In every religion, people are allowed to repent and change after they make mistakes.
I think why we are so obsessed about her is because we like her and we don't want to be disappointed with her. I wish she would come out and say everything with clarity and honesty. I think her fan following would get even stronger. It's her ambiguity that's bothering everyone.
When I was watching MBKD the other day and listened to Kat's lines carefully, I felt like she was really speaking about herself. Or maybe she was indirectly defending herself through her lines.
Like when she is saying that in India, an open-minded, modern girl is labeled as a s**t. And then how she changes and becomes a traditional Indian girl and even agrees to an arranged marriage. It felt like she was defending her real life persona-- her first film Boom and her ambiguous past. It sounded like she was saying-- "this is me now."
If that's the case, then I support her. We all have the right to start over, to change ourselves, to better ourselves. And if we did that, we wouldn't want people to keep bringing up our past mistakes would we?
It's also not fair to attribute her family's and sibling's mistakes to her. She's not responsible for what they did or are doing.
I really think Katrina needs to explain herself better. The more she stays quiet, the worse the gossip is going to get. And when I say explain, I don't mean making up contradictory statements that don't match each other. I mean true honesty.
