NEED HELP - How do we delete a post?

Can someone tell me how to delete a post on a certain thread? This has happened twice to me today. I had edited my posts and had updated them.. instead of updating the previous one, it created it again. the only way i could clear the contents was to "clear form' and still had to give some dummy text and "update form" again This still creates a new post but atleast does not repeat the contents.. Is there an option to delete what we wrote instead of this?
Any suggestions will be highly appreciated..

To delete the post, just click Edit, then delete everything in your post, then click Update Post. There will be an empty Post but nothing will be written in it. Hope that helped 😊.

No, we cannot delete them. Like what you did, we can clear them.
Delete requires additional privileges which some of the Mods have.

EDIT: Read bee's post and while the post box doesn't fully delete, it will remain empty after you delete the text and update the post.

Ok. Thx. That is silly though. You should be able to delete what you post. Not the entire thread but just a single post. Software design flaw !! :):)
