Best Actress 2012 Award Winner - Pick One

Now that all these films released, I think we can have a better prediction of who is going to win best actress. I made this poll before Barfi, Heroine, or EK Tha Ek Tiger released. I wish I can add Sri Devi (English Vinglish) and Rani Mukherji (Ayya).

2012 is the year where we saw many of the ladies taking centre stage to strut their acting chop. Granted, we had many play it safe with 2 mins flowerpot roles and bagging another without any major contribution. Now it seems that everyone wants to make a mark- at least once every blue moon. The competition will be tough. I listed the actress in the poll because they 1) are popular 2) all (except 1) have substancial roles in their respective films. Who do YOU think will win the best actress this year?

I was a bit disappointed with the Barfi trailer - I wanted more of her character to be shown. Hopefully she does another stellar job. I'm not worried about her acting- she always picks out good roles but it's the hit tag of her films that might deter away from getting that award. SHe's been branded the "flop" queen and badly needs a hit. We all know how flop movies barely get any recognized at the awards.

Vidya has won awards almost every season but let's ignore that for a moment. Why would Vidya win for Kahaani over the other actresses? I think Katrina can be ruled out for this one (unless you consider booty shaking is a new form of acting) Kareena was touted to have the performance of her life with Heroine as per Madhur himself. But I did not find the trailer very impactful or intriguing for me to conclude to that. Of course that leaves PC. I actually wanted to see more of her in the Barfi trailer.

I don't understand why people were awed by Vidya in Kahaani. She's done other work: Parineeta, Guru, Bhool Bhuliya, and Paa(she won best actress award), and then she had Ishqiya, No one Killed Jessica, and then Dirty Picture. All of them were meaty roles and were nominated and won something.

^ I think she got her dues critically with all those said films. My personal favourite was Parineeta (the bengali in me LOVED the setting) It took a while for her to get notice but now the public is watching her every move.

However good her other work were, it doesn't take away from Kahaani. In Kahaani, Vidya was the main focus in the whole film and carried it on her shoulders.

^ I think people were amazed at the versatility she showed in 2 back to back films taht were only 2-3 months apart. Bidya Bagchi and Silk are poles apart as characters and Vidya pulled both of them off.
