Here is the update! As soon, in just a few days 😃 Will do my best in updating this again ASAP. A heads up... this FF will be ending in around 5 more updates... :( I know sad... But I do not want to drag it on when all the things I've thought of for this will be shown in these 5 updates... It'll only spoil it if I drag... Hope you understand that. 😃

He didn't know how to react. Mostly, he couldn't understand why she left just like that!! Abhay wanted to give the other letter where reason was written. But he remembered his promise and couldn't He felt guilty as never before.

Chapter 24

Hours later when Pia woke up, the doctors ran some test and by her behavior they eventually figured out that she remembered only bits and pieces of her life. She remembered few people and few, she had forgotten. Abhay, she refused to remember. Abhay was deeply hurt as she was everything for her. Doctor informed them that it was for better if they didn't try to remind her of things and rather let it come back on its fine; if it ever was to come back.

Heavy-heartedly, everyone accepted the fact. Abhay moved away to London for studies and Pia started living her life with what she remembered. She knew nothing about the accident of her mother. She only knew that her mother simply left them one day without knowing.

**FLASH-BACK OVER**

And when Pia had again hurt her head, she was starting to remember what she was forgetting. It began with remembering parts of the accident. Abhay sat there on his bed and looked at Maya. "How am I to tell her that her mother had cancer? How am I to tell her that? She'll be completely broken! The only reason aunty never told anyone is because she didn't want them to cry over her loss. She left like that to create hatred towards herself in their hearts, so they won't miss her."

"I know Abhay' I know' But maybe it is for the best that she knows her mother meant well for everyone." Maya responded having second thoughts.

"I would be the most happiest if she could know! But I can't tell her. I made a promise long ago to never tell this to anyone, not even her."

Both of them sat their silent. Suddenly, Maya's face lit up. "You cannot tell her. But'I can'"

Abhay turned to look at her, the same understanding seeping inside of him. His face lit up as well. "Yes, you can tell her!"

"Yes!! What are we waiting for? Let's go." She sprinted out of bed and towards Pia's room. Abhay soon followed putting the photo frame back in its place.

Pia was pacing around in her room throwing out her anger on Abhay on the poor teddy bear. "What does he think of himself? He won't tell me! Okay, he doesn't have to. He doesn't want to na? Fine. I can live without knowing too. I'll find out from someone else. But' from whom? Only he knows' Uff why does he have to be so stubborn?"

Maya came in just then to hear Pia talking her anger out to herself. She smiled seeing this, folded her hands across her chest and waited for Abhay to get there. When he did, he too smiled at her cute angry talk. "Pia," he called out.

She turned and gave him a glare. "What are you doing here? I already told you, if you're not going to tell me, then no need to talk to me."

Abhay at Maya, asking her to continued. She took a step towards her and continued, "Pia, he cannot tell you."

Without keeping a control over herself, she blurted out, "Oh of course you would take his side! You both love each other, don't ya? Just a perfect love story!"

It was time Maya cleared everything. If Abhay wasn't going to she will. She looked at Abhay shortly to see if he will speak up and he did. "You're wrong Pia. You are wrong about everything. Yes, I love Maya' but as a friend! Just my best friend! The love of my life has always been you!" He had reached her by now and was holding her by her cheek.

A tear came in Pia's eyes. She was confused by this confession of his. She was so happy to hear that but then confusion took over not understanding what it was the day she had seen the both of them. Sensing the confusion, Abhay continued.

"That night, I was going to propose you. I was nervous so Maya helped me out by posing at Pia. Everything I said then was for you! I truly love you deeply and I want to tell you' but I can't."

"Why not?," she hardened again.

Maya spoke up now, "Pia, listen to me. Everyone has their limits and this is Abhay's He cannot tell you what happened." Pia's face hung low with disappointment while Maya continued a second later. "But I can tell you."

Pia was again confused now. Maya didn't meet her till later. "Yes, I know the reason. Listen, why don't we sit down first?"

She didn't know what to say. She simply nodded, waiting for the story to come. Maya slowly told her everything. The accident taking place, her mother running away, her own accident and memory loss and how she found out about all this and why Abhay can't tell her anything as he had promised to not speak to it to anyone.

Pia felt guilty for saying all the mean things to Abhay thinking that he didn't care about her at all. While all the while, he was the one protecting her from learning the truth so she doesn't get hurt. She looked at Abhay who stood by the corner while Maya was telling her. Her joy knew no bound.

She wasn't as sad about learning about her mother's cancer as she was about realizing how badly she had treated Abhay. She sprinted on her feet and ran towards him, her body weight on him as she took him up in a hug while standing on her tippy-toes.

Both of them were over-joyed with all the misunderstanding's finally over and them knowing the truth. After all, they knew that the other loved them. What more could they want? Parting from the hug, Pia lightly tapped his chest and showed fake anger, "You stupid person, agar itna hi pyar karte the toh kabhi bataya kyu nai?"

Abhay giggled and held his ears to whisper a sorry. Both giggled together over their tears of happiness and hugged each other again. Maya, taking it as her cue, left the room to leave the two alone. Abhay felt Pia stiffen under his hold and he asked, "What happened?"

She looked up at his face not removing her hands from around him and asked, "If I ask something, will you do it? Please?"

He smiled and cupped her cheeks. "Anything for you Pia; you know that."

"I do, but this is different' uhm will you take me to meet Jeh" she asked biting her lip by the end, knowing the kind of reaction Abhay would give.

It was now his turn to stiffen. He held her by her shoulders and asked, "Pia, are you in your senses?!!"

Pia pleaded and tried to explain. "You're not understanding Abhay. I know' I know what he did to me was horrible' and I will never be able to forget that' But I need to meet him. For once'And you'll be there with me. I have nothing to fear. I trust you. Please Abhay' for me?"

He was reluctant but gave a short nod as he couldn't refuse her. She gave him a peck on his cheek. "Thank you!"

He got into naughty mood. Putting his hands around her waist, he pulled her closer. Her hands went on his chest and knowing his intentions, she lightly hit his chest. When he started closing the distance between their faces, a warm feeling took over her. The closeness was intensifying and she could feel her heart beat faster. A blush crept over her cheek.

Out of the blue, she pushed him a bit backwards and ran out of her own room leaving him to stand and plan revenge at her for running away.

Abhay and Pia had to go back to the hospital to meet Jeh as he was still badly damaged. Pia grabbed Abhay's hand right before entering the rooms. He consoled her by putting his other hand on top of hers and giving her a nod. They entered together and Jeh sat up in bed, surprised to see both of them there. More scared would be the right thing to say as fear crept into his eyes seeing Abhay there.

Pia spoke in relaxed voice, "Don't worry. He's not here to punish you more than you already are." She took a glance at him, couple of bones broken and fractures evidently seen on his body. Silently, she wondered if he could be more damaged even if Abhay wished for it. She just didn't find it possible seeing her condition. She continued.

"He didn't even want to come. I wanted to come. I want to talk to you."

Jeh cut her off. "Look Pia, I'm sorry for what I did'"

Pia sternly replied before waiting for him to finish. "No. Let me finish first." Both Jeh and Pia flinched back a response not knowing what exactly was going on inside of Pia. Yes, Abhay had brought her there but she had not told him the reason behind her wanting to meet him. He looked upon her, worried for her and scared on what she might do next.

She continued just as sternly, "I do not want an apology from you. At least not when you don't truly mean it. Still, I'm here to forgive you." Now that shocked both the men just as equally. They had surely not expected that. "If I don't forgive you, I'm not going to be able to let go of it and move on with my life." She turned to look at Abhay who first was confused and then realization dawned upon him.

In order for her to move on in life and not get scared whenever a person comes close to her, she had to forgive and forget. That was what happened earlier that morning when Abhay had naughtily tried to come close to her and she had ran off as if showing that she was shy. From inside, she still had not recovered from the physical pain. If she was to allow herself to get close to anyone in physical sense, she had to first let go. A pinch of guilt overcame Abhay as he realized. As if she could see what exactly was going on inside of him, she held his hand tighter to show that she didn't blame him for anything.

Turning back to Jeh, she continued, "That's all I came here to say and I want to hear nothing else. Maybe in future, you do realize your mistake, then better for you if you repent for it. I have forgiven you and maybe God will as well." Saying so, she nudged Abhay's hand and she started walking out the room, followed by Abhay.

Once they were out in the hall way, Abhay stopped abruptly and held her back. When she felt a tug, she turned to look at him and gave a look that asked, "What's wrong?" Without saying anything, Abhay simply pulled her hand and embraced her in a tight hug. What she did was brave according to him' for any girl to forgive a person like Jeh would be next to impossible.

But Pia decided to put her past behind and start a new life with him and he could not be any more grateful than what he was at that moment. Understanding him, Pia responded to the hug with similar intense emotions.

Next day, they made plans to go out but Maya refused to come giving an excuse that she had 'last minute project' to complete. But both of them understood that she was just laying back to give them time to spend together and give their relationship a new turn. While chit-chatting, Pia brought up the topic that was going on in her head before sleeping last night: Going back to India.

Pia wanted to meet her father and convinced Abhay that she wants them to know the truth. Just like Maya told her because he couldn't; she wanted to tell them because he can't. Just when they were about to leave that mid-afternoon, someone rang the bell to their house.

Pia went to open it and was surprised at whom she saw in front of them: Misha and Panchi! Oh she was stunned at first to them but then knew no joy. She jumped at them to engulf them in a big hug. She had missed them so much! And so the day flew away with all five of them gossiping around and canceling the picnic Abhay and Pia had sent. Now, Maya wasn't allowed to stay back either. They decided to go to the club for the night. Many things had happened and they were in a huge need for relaxation.
