On-off couple Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif has finally pulled the plug on their relationship. The breakup happened when Katrina left for the London schedule of her film with Shah Rukh Khan. The split isn't exactly amicable, and the two have decided to maintain distance from each other.
An insider reveals, "Trouble has been brewing in the relationship for the last few months and distance just made things worse. Katrina was on a long London schedule, while Ranbir was busy shooting for Barfi in Darjeeling. Apart from this, there was the Deepika Padukone factor.
RK has been shooting with his Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani co-star, and they are said to have rekindled their romance." It is too early to say if they are indeed back together but they have been spending time together, and not just on the sets. Ranbir and Dippy were spotted coming out of a five-star last week. They'd remained friends after the split, so this could've been innocent but reports of their proximity reached Kat in London and it made matters worse. The distance between the lovers and the renewed friendship with Deepika put immense strain on their relationship. Kat would get to hear of RK and DP spending time off set and that naturally upset her. Recalling an incident in London the source adds, "They would constantly argue over the phone. Kat was quite low during the entire schedule, but found solace in her family. She met her mom and sisters and confided in them."
A source close to the actress says that the Kapoor lad stopped taking her calls after their last fight. The actress even got a new SIM to try to reach him but he remained unavailable. "That was the last straw. She decided not to try and make this relationship work anymore. Chances of them reconciling are dim." It would be cruel to say: what goes around, comes around but it wouldn't be wrong. When Dippy and Ranbir were in a relationship, they broke up when he cheated on her with Katrina. In fact when Dips signed a film when Ranbir, a friend of the Cocktail girl had joked, "this is the perfect opportunity for Deepika to get back at Kat. Now she is in a relationship with Ranbir and they will be shooting together for months." A source close to the couple says, "One cannot blame Deepika for driving this couple apart. Perhaps they never reconciled the differences that broke them up the first time." Or perhaps it just wasn't meant to be.
