I would like to pay my tribute and appreciation to these two amazing singers from Himachel Pradesh Geeta Bharadwaj and Kritika Tarwar. Although it is litlle too early to say how they will perform in next round but they have given their brilliant performances in auditions, where there is no music and sound system. Specially this lovely girl Geeta has got superb voice quality and modulation. I mean her harkets and murkiyas were perfect. She sang Lata di's famous song from Movie Dastak, composed by Madan Mohan Sahab, "mai ri mai kaisee kahoo, peer apnee jia ki" Hope she sings Lata di's other gems in next round e.g. Kanto se khench ke ye anchal, Lo aa gayee unki yaad vo nahi aayee, Mujhee ghere lete hai baho ke saayee, Lag ja galee ke phir ye hasee raat ho na ho, Baaaro mera jeevan bhi savaro, Dil hoom hoom karee ghabrayee, aye mere watan ke logo zara ankh mai bhar lo paani.
We all know that it takes lots of guts to sing Lata ji's song because you can't make any mistake as everybody know Sur and Taal of original composition. Geeta is not a trained artist but she is a singer by profession and thats what she does for living. She gave me goosebumps and tears were flowing from my eyes when she was performing.
Similarily Kritika's performance, " sathi re bhul na jana mera pyaar." was simply a beauty. I mean she knows her sur and taal. I have not seen something like that in auditions. That shows that we have great talent in India these days and our kids are working very hard to learn music. I wish them best of luck and do hope that they will make it to top18.
