I think we should forgive the person in the beginning also because it is possible that things might grow worse between the two people and lead to all the doors closing and the distances increasing between the two.
Sometimes, we find it difficult to forgive someone as we might feel like 'what if he/she does it again?!' and I believe people are right. But this might just create further differences between the two.
It is better to leave our ego and put our guards down. Apologizing doesn't mean that you are wrong and the other is right. It only means that you give value to relationships much more than your personal ego. So, if a person apologizes to you it means he is really sorry. In such a case, we should forgive the other and try and get back on tracks. It will only help you and the other person in the future and will help your relation grow stronger.
So, I think forgiveness is divine. 😊

Forgive, after teaching em a hard lesson. Or sometime after landing their arses in Gaol. (Excluded from this norm: Rapists, war criminals, serial killers, pedophiles yada)

Many people believe that forgiveness is necessary if we want to put the past behind us and move on.😃

Life is short but it is the longest thing we'll ever see, isn't it?

There are some things which simply can't be forgotten, no matter how big a heart you may have, because the scars run too deep. At least I think so.

To quote W. Paul Young-"Forgiveness is not about forgetting. It is about letting go of another person's throat."
