To understand the story of Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon?... we have to first understand the story of Arnav and Anjali ; The story of Anjali and Shyam and The story of Arnav and Khushi !
Here is a woman who is torn between the two most important men in her life - her husband and her brother.
Here is a man who is torn between the two most important women in his life - his wife and sister.
It is their story !
Let me talk about Anjali Shyam Manohar Jha today...
A woman, who till a few days ago had a perfect life. She had a husband whom she loved and worshiped. A husband who she thought loved her equally, if not more. She had a younger brother, for whom she was the center of his life ! A brother who would always, always love her and protect her. She had a family who dotes on her... who will do anything to keep her happy.
One fine day, this woman comes to know that her husband has not been loyal to her, that he has been lusting after another woman - that too her own brother's wife ! The brother for whom she was always the first priority, suddenly his priorities have changed... he is trusting his wife of 4 months over her husband of 4 years ! He slapped her husband - the one he always considered as a father figure - in front of the whole family and then threw him out of his house, her life !
One Fine day !
She never got a chance to speak to her husband, for him to explain his side of the story to her. She never got an answer from her brother or her family.
She never got her closure... she is pregnant, with turbulent hormones. She is grieving the sudden end of her relationship... the first sign of grief is shock and denial. We have seen that... when she wanted to abort her child. She was in shock and in denial... how will anyone love his child, if everyone hates him !
So coming to the present scenario... What do we get...
Then the image breaks... when?
She prepares Kheer for her brother and brings to his room... what does she see there? She sees her brother playing Hubby with his darling wife, surprising her on her birthday, cutting cake with her, feeding her cake !
Her reaction: She is shocked. Till now, she was frozen in the moment... Her first thoughts... she remembers...
1. Rakhi... when she was the center of universe for her brother. Arnav telling her... "Mujhe iss duniya se koi matlab nahi, meri asli duniya to aap ho" with Khushi in the background' right in between the two !

2. Khushi feeding her husband Kheer, in their own Bedroom.

3. Khushi and Shyam leaving together, after lying to her that they are going out separately.

4. Maami informing her that Khushi asked Shyam to divorce Anjali.
Cut
5. Khushi explaining to everyone that she only did to gain Shyam's trust and to save her own husband.
Cut
6. Arnav slapping Shyam for his WIFE. She doesn't think about Arnav slapping him for his sister - herself - first. But for Khushi.
Cut
She comes to her room, remembering Arnav and Khushi playing house... cutting cake, happy in their married life while she has suddenly become alone !
She looks at the flowers, she thought Arnav brought for her... and then realization dawns on her that the Roses are Khushi's favorite too and that he got them for Khushi and not for her !
What is her immediate reaction... she throws the roses away ! Not because she is angry at Khushi, but because she is depressed at her loneliness ! She now realizes that Arnav's priorities have changed.
What does she say... she says, "How could you forget everything so quickly, Chhotey... how come it was so easy for you? So much has happened to your sister, I have suffered so much and you forgot me... at such a point in MY life, you are giving more importance to Khushi... More than your sister?? How can you forget me Chhotey? How?"
See how important is the last dialogue... It has dawned on Anjali for the first time that there is someone who has become more important in her brother's life than her... and that makes her feel REJECTED ! Her husband has not tried to contact her even once since he was thrown out. Her family, although supportive of her condition, doesn't want her to be with her husband. And her most beloved brother's priorities in life have changed.
As of now, we have not been shown whether she believes Arnav's version of the truth or Shyam's version. She was frozen in the moment of time. For the first time after days, she has now come out of the denial phase of her grief.
What is the next step of grief... Anger !
Now, we'll get to see Anjali's anger and how she deals with it !
So ladies and gentlemen, this is the story of Anjali Shyam Manohar Jha...
Tomorrow we'll talk about someone else... for Tomorrow is another day, after all !

Small Note: Loved Arnav trying to woo his wife, the cake cutting scene was cute, NK, Payal scenes with Khushi were good... they are going to her pillars of strength in future.
All in all an entertaining episode from the team of IPK !

"The process of realization will soon dawn on her - how far she'll take it before she realizes this, that's the question. When I saw the flashbacks, it hit me that all her life she'd been assured of being loved by the two men she had made her world. She's always been at the receiving end of that love and attention, therefore to expect her to accept things the way they are would pretty much go against her character. it seems for the first time she's been denied or rather she's had to share what she thought was always hers. Plus, Arnav never banked on falling in love, so his world was always his sister as well. And he made sure she knew this, lest she moves away from him. And to an extent, she had prioritised her bro above her husband. But then today's flashback also showed us how Arnav has indeed fallen in love, which has automatically place Khushi in the same equation as his Di. And yes, it's selfish of her, not to be able to accept it, but it's also human nature!"
