Why does he not divorce the first wife?

Seriously, what is the reason behind no divorcing her? She's clearly not well. In Jane Eyre the reason is that in England you could not get re-married. Mr. Rochester was in a huge bind as a result. I hope it has nothing to do with money, inhertiance etc. It would be awful if TVS had to stay married to her to keep the family fortune.

A better storyline would be that he did not want her to fall into the hands of people who would provide her with the wrong treatment. That he never had any plans of falling in love; he was never happy with her and just wanted to get along with his life and then Sugni appeared...

And things just turned upside down. I sincerely hope that divorce is the option in this show...otherwise it will be awful to watch.

Also, who exactly is ill? The first wife or the child or both? If the child is not mentally ill is it not cruel to keep her stuck in an old haveli with an insane woman? Actually even if she IS ill, its still a bit strange. This is where CVs can slip up. Vikram can have as many secrets as he wants but keeping the child in that haveli better have a good explanation, a better one than anything I can think up of at the moment.😕

Is it possible that her money is the key? Isn't she supposed to b really wealthy- could it b that TVS then inherited her extreme wealth on her death? Just a thought. I mean if he divorces her he loses access to all the lucre? The wall was not just to keep her in, but to kill her-can't remember seeing a door to the room? Although why NOW? He could have done it a long time ago! Seems a bit extreme but people have done far worse 4 money.

If its really money it will kill TVS character for me and many other fans. CVs better not go that way.😡 Plus it doesn't make sense, why would he keep her hanging around? If he really is that cold and calculating, why not get her to sign her property over, or forge the papers (he is surely powerful enough that no one would question him), and then kill her? Why keep her, and a child locked up in a haveli, all well-dressed and apparently taken care of, with the off-chance that some day she could come back and claim it all?😲

Cvz plz give us sum solid nd gud reasons ... no SANE person can lock his kid in a dark haunted haveli tht too with an insane woman ... doesn't matter if shez her mother.. if shez mentally ill nd can harm anybody then y nt her own daughter?... we dun want any lame nd ghissa pita excuse for this behavior ... As Laila said im also hoping for the divorce option .. earlier he was delaying marriage nd said sugni tht he will marry her bt only at right tym ... so i wish nd hope he was taking tym for the divorce procedure only ... may be hez gonna get divorce on teej..🤔 ... im asking for too much i guess ..

That is the only plausible reason why a man would do such a thing...did she possess money? Did he inherit the money after she died was TVS already wealthy. Was there a condition by which the family would be disinherited if he divorced her? Is that why he is faking her death?

It definitely does not look like he was doing all of this so he could lust after other women.

It makes NO sense for TVS to do something so ugly; it really is bothersome and does make me NOT like him if it is for money. We keep people locked away if we have something to gain from their absence. What does TVS have to gain? It was not Sugni...she came in MUCH later...

IF it is not the body of his wife who was cremeted, then who? Was there no body cremeted? Was their no post-morten? And what of the child? Whose child is she? TVS and Reva?

CVs have to answer A LOT of questions...

Reasons might be many, money, property, disinherited from his own property in case of divorce, or simply divorce is just not acceptable within the family…

Besides, why is the child in the haveli with the mom. How come no one else knows about her in the family, or does they??? This is really odd. If the family knew of his kid, do they think the child is also dead??? Hopefully, soon we will get some answers…keeping the child in a haveli, away from family makes a situation extremely mysterious…

He probably kept his wife hidden because someone probably attempted to kill his wife before and he wants to keep his wife hidden or maybe he faked his wife's death so he can be free from the bonds of marriage.Either way why the hell no one knows about the kid I don't understand.😕 If he goes to divorce his wife everyone will know she is alive.

After watching the episode, I think his wife might be mentally unstable (and is under control through medication). Since Reva is in her name, she might come from a strong Thakur family and inherited the properties plus divorcing her could result in huge enmity between TVS and his in-laws that could result in loss of life and properties etc…my 2 cents..
