Friday's episode left a bad taste in my mouth, as I know it did for many of us.
Sadly it was exactly has many of us predicted (I hope we didn't give the CVs any ideas).
While I was attempting to be optimistic last week, Friday got me thinking...and, dare I say, left me quite irritated.
Mohan has not had it easy. But as he himself said, he would stop at nothing. Since he's realized his love for Megha, he's put himself out there, worn his heart on his sleeve, and been true to her, and his love for her.
Sure, it all started with wanting to bring Dinanath down, but since he realized Megha was attached to the case, his feelings for her only fueled his fire. Since then, everything that he has done has been for Her. Not to make her his, at first, but just to see her smile, make her life easier.
It wasn't until the fake marriage that he really got caught up in the idea of it all and he realized that that fake life was exactly what he wanted for himself. Even then, I don't think he would have been so quick to admit it if she had not been pressuring him so much. He even tried to deny it, until he realized that every fiber of his being deceived him and there was no hiding it anymore.
But, that's not the point. The point is that over the months, in his journey from irritated neighbor to well-wisher to friend, and now majnoo, Mohan has been put up will a LOT for Megha. He's been hit with chappals, ridiculed at work, berated by her family, proven wrong on one too many accounts (though this may be his own fault and i'll get to that in a bit), and even belittled by Megha herself.
I admit that Mohan can get caught up in things and doesn't always think before he acts. And, as much as Mr. Star Reporter tries, he doesn't always manage to examine both sides of the coin. But he DOES mean well. And he has Always had Megha's best interest at heart. I have said it before, (as we saw with Amar's case and Mohan's "proving" him guilty) Mohan stands by what he thinks is right. If the proof he has points to one thing, he's going to believe it whole-heartedly. And on Friday, it was, in his eyes, Megha's life that was on the line. He really thought Manav was trying to pull one over on the family and he wasn't about to sit by and watch it happen.
So midway thought Friday's episode, right in the middle of the 'accuse Mohan' session that was going on, I could help but think how quickly Megha could put a stop to it all.
Mohan's plight has been a rough one. He's had to jump through hoops just to get the Vyas family to like him, his mom has disapproved of everything he's done since he med Megha, and he lives with the constant truth that maybe he will never measure up - as a son, a son-in-law, or as the family-man Megha needs him to be. But you have to give it to the guy for never giving up, losing hope (okay - discounting the one time he wavered and thought he'd move on, but the guy was mad, I think he's allowed to be irrational).
So on Friday, as I saw Mohan all teary-eyed walking out of the Vyas house, all I could think was if Megha would just accept her feeling for him and not be afraid to voice them, all that Mohan's done wouldn't go in vain.
I realize that Megha has a LOT to consider, that she can't be selfish, and she is considering Indu in all of this. I also realize that she too has Mohan's best interest at heart; the stupid (I use that term lightly, please don't lash out at me.) girl really thinks that if she just distances herself from Mohan, it will make his life easier. But what frustrates me is that if she simply had the courage (as he said) to admit her love - and fight for it, as hard as Mohan is fighting, maybe he wouldn't shatter so easily. I realize that love doesn't always need words, and as Mohan has said, her actions DO speak loudly (heck, scream even), but if only she could admit it, it would give him wings.
I'm not blaming Megha in all of this. Its sad really - their relationship, and situation is just so complex that it makes it hard. I also agree that all of this has been really hard on her - that its hard to let the one you love go. But that's what makes me so upset...knowing that one confession from her would put an end to all the misery.
I guess everything considered, I just wish Mohan wasn't proved the bad guy in all of this time and again.
I did sympathize with Megha as she stood at her window and told Mohan she knew he meant well. I just wish she'd have had the chance to say it to him. Let's face it, Mohan will endure anything as long as he knows Megha's backing him. And with her wedding just 2 days away, and the fact that she's not standing by him and their love during this crucial time, I can't help but think Mohan's starting to feel like time is running out. The silver lining: "Ek hafta kya? Ek mahina, ek saal, ek din bhi bacha ho na, phir bhi teri mummy ki shaadi hogi, toh sirf mujhse."
I'm not saying I want these two to get married - as I said before, marriage 6 months into the show would be suicide. All I'm saying is, as hard as it may be, Megha's gonna need to come thru for Mohan soon. He knows she loves him, but her showing him that she does would make it that much easier for him to face the tasks ahead...for surely now he's got to - in a way, re-earn the family's trust.
If he's had enough (yet again) and is livid to the point of being irrational (yet again), then I can't say I blame him. But, he'll come around. After all, this is Megha we're talking about...and Its like Guru said, "ek baar Mohan ne commitment kar li, phir woh khud ki bhi nahi sunta". :D
The marriage promo gives me hope - if Megha really is ready to face the consequences and stand by him, then I applaud her courage.
As for the entire promo - Megha's chunni applying, and the Mohan-Riddhima shaadi, I think its all a dream. But whose?
Vaise, If I'm not mistaken, this is KKK's first on-screen shaadi? He's looking quite dashing as a dulha :)
Ok, I'm done venting. Sorry it was so lengthy.
I know I'll probably get a lot of rebuttal for my thoughts so, as always, IMHO.
