So I just finished watching yesterday's episode since I have to wait for the English subs, and I must say Gayatri blew me away.😍 People may or may not agree with me since she still has some selfish motives and has not completely accepted Ansh as her grandson, but the fact remains that she is a more moralistic character than Sr. Scinidia and Maya. Her faults are her time-to-time reappearing selfishness and pride, but she also has the ability to empathize with Aarti as a mother and wife, and when she stood up for Aarti to Bua and Sr. Scindia, there was literally fire in her eyes that dared them to stop a dutiful woman who was on a mission to save her husband's life from danger.👏 For the first time since Aarya's marriage, I think Gayatri understood and approved of Aarti's intentions, and she has also understood Aarti to be a woman of good character and fierce strength.
Gayatri has always been mentally abused by her husband (maybe physically too, who knows?) by being made to feel worthless and stupid, and I think this is a major reason why she turned into a bitter and angry woman throughout the years. Anyone having to contend with a husband like Suraj Pratap and a sister-in-law like Maya cannot be expected to remain a happy woman, but yesterday she put her foot down and indicated to them that she would take no more bullying if it meant endangering her children's welfare. I think as a younger girl, Gayatri was a completely different person and marriage changed her. Having Vidhi as a DIL didn't really help because while Vidhi is nice, she never stood up to Gayatri and never went against her. She was as submissive as a DIL could be and that only infuriated Gayatri more. On the other hand, Aarti and Paridhi challenged her power in the household and this may have reminded Gayatri of the wilful and stubborn daughter-in-law she may have been long ago, before than strength was beaten out of her. I think this is the reason she feels more drawn to Aarti and Paridhi than Vidhi.
I am hoping to see Gayatri's character undergo a turn for the better in the coming episodes. The recent episodes have shown us that she is not an evil character, despite what she did ot Ansh. The true evil in the household is Sr. Scindia and most of all, Maya Bua. If she is rid of their influence, Gayatri can become a caring and kind mother-in-law IMO.
