AND THE AWARD GOES TO...
Female: Kanchi Kaul (Ananya in 'Ek Ladki Anjaani Si')
How does it feel to be voted as TV's most promising face?
It's a huge surprise. To be part of the list is a great achievement and to have topped the poll is lovely. It is, of course, a huge responsibility now to prove myself as an actor.
What do you see in store for you in the year ahead?
Doing a lot of work. I also hope to spend some time with myself. But I don't see myself doing another soap.
What according to you sets you apart from the rest?
The fact that my show is not a typical saas-bahu saga and I don't have to play a character older than I am. In fact I play someone younger and the concept of the show is also quite different and fresh.
What advice do you have for those who want to follow in your footsteps?
Just believe in what you do and work hard.

How does it feel to be voted as TV's most promising face?
It's very flattering. In fact, this is the first time I've been nominated for a poll like this. But I definitely want to know who the other contenders were.
What do you see in store for you in the year ahead?
I see myself doing a lot of quality work. I would love to host a show where I can interact with the audience as myself.
What according to you sets you apart from the rest?
I guess you have to ask that to the viewers who've voted for me. But I think the effort I put into a character makes a difference. Moreover, the focus is not only on the female protagonist, as is the case with most soaps. It is a love story and that's what has gone down well with the audience.
What advice do you have for those who want to follow in your footsteps?
Whatever you do, don't ever be impulsive. Take time to decide and don't ever rush into things — it doesn't help.
