I am sorry, but I beg to differ with what was written in the letter...
I think that what they showed, was consistent with the characterization of the Modi's and Kokila/Hetal...had they shown them accepting Rashi being dressed in a modern dress... Would have been unbelievable... There are all kinds of people in this world... Showing a particular thought / belief does not mean that the channel is endorsing or promoting it...
One example was given that the women in their/modern families are allowed to wear western clothes... So, there can be a thousand families where it is not allowed... There is no right or wrong... To think that allowing one freedom in choosing to wear western clothes equals mordern or forward thinking itself shows a limited mental stretch or vision...
To compare this show along with Satyamev Jayate and the example given...is totally out of sync...
Saathiya and such soaps ARE not made to educate people or enlighten them... They do not have to show complete reality... How interesting can it be to watch a family day in and day out... They have to make it interesting by showing twists and turns and loud music and interesting precaps...
A channel has a variety of programs they offer... Which appeal to different age groups and genres... I think one must read the disclaimer that each program displays... In case of any doubt or difficulty to comprehend...
Blaming the producer/director etc... Is unwarranted...there are many things in this serial which have been ridiculous and unacceptable... Rashi cooker kaand... Or deliberately hurting Gopi's hand... Anita trying to murder Gopi... Etc... Had a letter been written for such issues... Would have been appropriate...
To write such a long letter... And to make such a fuss about a non-issue and make it out to be a worthy cause... Doesn't hold well... This is my opinion...:)
