Part 35

helplessly she kept her hand on her head...

Shama sauntered in Chandni's room, applied the ointment on her neck...

galled at the things taking place in her life since the arrival of the beast, she knitted her brows and her thoughts started to grumble '..next time she would never let him touch herself...

Chandni felt herself grumpy at grousing him every second...making him understand her emotions was out of the question... Veer's words had left her jaded...

This mark will create a conundrum for her that every other person she knows would ask her all sorts of weird questions...

"will this ointment work ???" Chandni's puckered brow showed all her emotions as she glared at the mark in the mirror... she always admired herself, her body... she had never let anyone touch herself, and this brute comes like a storm leaving her with pain and anger...

"of course it will..." Shama answered confidently... "but you must apply it again before sleeping..." she added while leaving the room...

Chandni felt like a frog in the well who can't get out... she loved Veer...but she hated him as well...bushed out she angrily dialed his number again...

"my fate has come across the world's most cruelest person" wrathful at his acts...but when she didn't heard anything from the other side she scolded herself for creating more troubles... before she could say another word he had already disconnected the phone...

she crossed her finger... "hope he doesn't do anything now..."

soon she heard her Grandmother's voice... "yes coming..." she walked downstairs for dinner...

Appalled to see the red mark on Chandni's neck '.. "oh God...what is this..??" Kamini came closer to see clearly...

Chandni didn't speak up...but before she could say anything Shama replied '. "insect bite...don't worry I have applied the ointment...it will be fine..."

stunned by the reason "fine!!!...but Chandni...how did this...??" Kamini got upset...Shama again answered back "i told you insect bite...she was coming from the narrow path down the valley...so..."

Kamini paused worriedly before going towards her temple, ...apprehensive about the things happening around and now this sharp bruise on Chandni's neck troubled her even more...what if someone harmed Chandni, what if she gets hurt, agitated at her own imaginations she folded hands and prayed for her Grand daughter, for her long life...

Chandni now had ample supply of all bizarre questions and top of that their peculiar solutions...exasperated she wanted to shout and tell the whole world the story of her bite...

Soon she saw her Granny coming out from her room with a plate murmuring the prayers ...

"Grandma!!!!...what's this..??"

but Kamini didn't stop and stood in front of Chandni ... she sprinkled the holy water on her face and body, recited her prayers holding a small flower in her hand...

This went on for few minutes until Chandni was fuming with anger...how could she say it was not an insect bite, it was a love bite that her beloved gave her...and it was nothing to do with any evil...

Chandni seemed scandalized of every other person in her life...she wanted to yell at Veer, to blow up at what he did...and she was such an idiot who closed her eyes and forgot the world around her...

After some time...Kamini gave her a flower... "keep it in your hand..." Chandni reluctantly took it and pressed between her palm and fingers...

Manohar was reading out loudly...Kaka wasn't very happy with his attitude... "can't you read in your mouth..."

"the concept is so interesting that I can't control reading aloud..." he responded teasing Kaka...

he started reading again...

"and the ghost entered the house...it found the old man all alone in the house...and suddenly the lights turn off..."

"Manohar...stop your nonsense...you think I am foolish" Kaka replied irritably...

Manohar smiled at the old face "well not really...but sometimes you are..."

"let Veer come home...i will ask him to either send you back to Mumbai or I will leave right away" Kaka said firmly and walked away...

Manohar laughed... "I hope Kaka comes out of his ghost land into the real world of human beings..."

Chandni finished her dinner when Meenakshi entered the house... "hi everyone..."

soon her eyes fell on a red smear on Chandni's neck... "what is this???" it brought another vexed question lining in front of her maddening her to the core

incensed by everyone around her Chandni took a deep breath and walked upstairs, least bothered to reply...

Meenakshi's face went livid at Chandni's behavior '..but Shama asked her to calm down... "don't worry its just an insect bite...i have applied ointment..."

"but she should have replied back at least..." Meenakshi retorted angrily...

"talk to her tomorrow morning...she must be tired..." Shama replied...

Meenakshi wasn't convinced but she didn't say anything...

Chandni couldn't sleep...her thoughts occupied her...she thought about him '..his heart was like a knife, and every time she was closer to him it seemed he injured her, gave her the pain, still she can't leave him...It was out of question to explain Veer about her emotions...

Next Day

Chandni looked at all her clothes in the wardrobe... "no..." she threw them one by one on the bed... "not this one..."... standing with a towel wrapped around her body...her wet hair lightly tied in a bun... "oh no, can't find a single dress..."

"Chandni...what's taking you so long...???" Meenakshi called her aloud...

That added another drop to upset Chandni... "Mom...please, don't ask me..." she prompted while looking at her clothes... "i must cover my neck"

she took out her turtle neck t-shirt...and a short skirt...that would easily cover the devil's mark... she knew her mother wanted her to reach office early today... she quickly walked downstairs...before Meenakshi reached the car, she came in front and slid inside... "Chandni...is this the time?"

"come on mom...you haven't left yet..." Chandni answered irritably '.

The meeting was stopped for a break followed by a brief presentation...

Chandni without looking at Veer walked outside... as she walked quickly from the toilets her skirt ripped off near the door from the right side making a long cut towards her upper thighs... frustrated out of every other thing she hold her skirt, being tight she was unable to walk properly... she stood outside the door looking at the corridors...

stunned at the voice from behind.. "sweetheart"

she turned at once... "what are you doing here??" she frowned at him...

he didn't say anything rather curled his arm around her waist and pulled her against himself...

"leave me..." she said pushing with her left hand...and holding her skirt with the other hand...

she glanced around...her face getting pale...she seemed more worried about the monster who was holding her rather than her torn skirt... "Veer...please leave me" she said helplessly...

"that's like my Chandni..." he pulled back... but looked at the beautiful frame in front of him all nervous... "i haven't done anything yet"

Chandni looked at him in despair, how could she tell him why she's tense...moreover she was scared if she tells him, he might tear the remaining skirt '. "what are you thinking??" he asked again...

"hmm..." she came out of her thought... "no...nothing..."

"then lets go..." he continued '.

Chandni stood there waiting for him to move ahead when Veer's eyes fell on her skirt... "show me" he said immediately...

"what??? are you insane..." she moved backwards...

Veer hold her hand... "let me see..." he pulled her right hand off her skirt... Chandni closed her eyes as predicting danger... Veer looked at the cut... he took of his jacket and wrapped around her waist making a knot in the front... thus hiding her skirt form sideways...

Chandni opened her eyes and looked around... surprised at her monster, it was difficult for her to believe Veer covering her "why did..."

without letting her complete he smiled "how can I let anyone see those beautiful thighs..." he smiled making her more furious...

"come lets go...otherwise mother-in-law might start searching for me..." he added with a grin

That was enough for Chandni to grasp... "what???? '..what did you say???"

"i haven't taken a contract to repeat my words to you...better open your ears..." pretended rudely making her completely red fuming in anger...Chandni wanted to pull her own hair out... on the other hand Veer was laughing at her expense...

After a long time...

Meeting finally came to an end..it was 2:00pm...and everyone was welcomed to join for lunch...

Meenakshi looked at Chandni... "where's Veer??"

Chandni remembered Veer's words

"come lets go...otherwise mother-in-law might start searching for me..."

and shouted angrily "i don't know..." and headed out of the room...

Chandni was about to reach home when she looked at the watch...it was 2:00pm... she looked at her watch carefully...it stopped working... "no, its working...but why the same time..."

she stopped the car on the side of the road... that was something very unusual for Chandni... she checked the time on the car clock it showed 2:00pm...she looked at her mobile phone...it showed 2:00pm... "what the hell is this??" she was frustrated since morning...and now one after another weird things were happening with her...

she thought of going home...the moment she tried to start the car, she felt something cold touching her body...it was as if she was standing in the freezer... her shoulders and body seemed extremely tired...she felt like sleeping...Chandni tried to dial her mother's number but she wasn't picking up the phone...
