yesterday my uncle came and insisted that i should watch a movie becoz i am good watcher and observer...dunno wht made him think that...

when i asked him abt what he wanted to show me...he brought a DVD of black and white khamoshi movie. and being from this generation, i seriously felt like yawn 🥱 as any one would make an excuse, i said uncle just put it on my table and i will watch it defintely...today he came again and told me tht i was simply not interested for changing my taste. well to please him...i had to watch it even to fake him and appreciate in the end...oh mine i think the started...

i switched on my DVD player and started watching the movie just to show him that i was watching it...BUT just after 15 minutes, I was completely drawn to what I was seeing ...Khamoshi the black and white film, i was actually watching starting evolving me...i didn't know how could i get into this...

it started from the song 'tum pukar lo by hemant kumar...the song is so melodious and haunting..becoz it shows a heartbroken nurse waheeda rehman walking towards the person whom she loved and he is agreed to marry someone else and didn't care for her..the song shakes you within and it just completely dissolves you.

enter Rajesh khanna, who is suffering from a mental state after the rejection of her lover, Waheeda rehman doesn't care for him initially but finally she gives in and cares him to treat..Rajesh khanna starts to progress and recover...Waheeda rehman unable to control her feelings starts to love her patient again, but this time her love is tough as she feels her patient might go back to her ex-lover...unable to cope the pressure, she gets mentally disturbed and gets admitted to the same asylum. rajesh khanna hopes for Waheeda's return unless she recovers and they can re-unite again.

i was SPELL BOUND...what a movie...and yes i did check the records of this film, it was not just an ART FILM to be precise...it was a SUPERHIT BLOCKBUSTER.

that leaves to a point after watching such an amazing clean hearted movie...when will bollywood grow up...why can't we bring good stories that can strike hard and also make MONEY at the same time. i am sure if India had this kind of population at that time of KHAMOSHI it would have been an ATBB gladly people had better tastes at that times, i think this was the reason why these kind of movies are made...now today they will just be degraded as ART FILMS...

sometimes i feel why that era is considered a golden era, becoz they have snatched all ideas and looted everything and left nothing for audience to watch...be it STORIES, MUSIC everything. now heroes just fight and swings people in the air...women goes naked, some of them acts some does not. really today the market is so screwed up tht nobody would like to experiment and change the wind.

Khamosi is one of the best B&W moive I have ever seen. Sadly, its remake was no where no near to the original. When you pick emotionless, non actor to enact that character then failure is bound to happen. Bottom line is he cant pull it up such role period.

Even the old movie Khamoshi was a complete copy of old Hollywood movie "One flew over the cuckoo's nest" from start until end. The full script and almost every scene was copied (ofcourse except the songs).

It was and still is the ONLY film that sweeps all major oscar awards ie best film, best actor, best actress, best director and best screenplay alongwith other technical awards too.

How come movie released in 1969 ( Khamoshi) copied another movie released in 1975 ( One flew
over the Cuckoo's nest). If you are talking about the novel "One flew over the Cuckoo's nest" then you have got a point.
