People are hating Swamz for todays epi and I can understand why, but for me, personally, she was right in her place.

Losing a loved one is a pain that is incredibly difficult and hard to get through. Her past highlights this; she lost her younger brother (who just so happens to be her older brother now, CVs have some consistency!) and something big happened between her and the family in which she left the Vadhera house due to some love or something.

She knows the damning consequence of love and she's experiences first hand as well as witnessed the devastation of love. The Vanshika we see is clearly a shell of the woman she used to be; after her husbands death, she hasn't moved on. Swamini herself hasn't moved on from her love, whoever that was, hence she never settled down after that period.

So, at the end of the day, she's only looking out for Virat. As an aunt, watching him grow up in front of her, all she wants is the utmost best for him. And the thought of Manvi dying will be in her head, because at the end of the day, it is a possibility. So because her minds shooting her off to that scenario, in terms of her concern for Virat, she's quite justified in being a bit apprehensive about them.

It's only natural for someone to think the worst, especially when they themselves have been in that position, but the show hasn't had a grey character yet and I don't think they will. It will take time for her to come round, and she will someday but for know she is justified in her stance.

A cousin of mine who's only 24 married a girl. It was a love marriage and the family was really apprehensive to it because my bhabhi is terminally ill. She's been ill for the last couple of years and the last thing we wanted was him becoming a widower at such a young age. We came round to it, and she is one of the happiest people I've ever met and it just proves the saying - It's better to have loved and lost rather than to not have loved at all.

So yeah, from my personal experience, Swamini is right at where she stands because at the end of the day, all she cares about is Virat and the consequences of the decisions he's taking. She will come round, so people, don't jump to conclusions so soon =]

Very nice post Sabeeha...

being alone all her life and seeing her bhabhi desolate all her life... SB is right

but i loved this line of yours

It's better to have loved and lost rather than to not have loved at all.

Virat will love her until his last breath period.. no one can change .. he will deal with all the apprehensions of his family .,. but will not stop loving Mannu.,..

Bit of Tennyson there for you :P

Personally, I think Swamini is quite justified in her position at the moment and she isn't an evil character, just a very protected and one track minded person.

Like you said, Virat will love Manvi till the day he dies, so the qualms of family members will always come second to her. One day her eyes will open because there's a lot of substance behind all that eyeliner.

She's just trying to protect the ones she loves from the same path she's been on; her intentions are definitely noble, but the consequences is a whole different issue altogether.

Yeah, I know what you mean about the CV's :L There's no trusting them.

In my opinion, the scene today actually was a really good one. I think as viewers, we have to see under the more obvious dialogues and notice the hints the writers have been leaving.

I saw one post before stating that this was all just a 'guilt-laden' ploy by Swamini to get Vanshika aboard the Hate-Manvi-Express. For me, the emotions with which the scene was acted out just blared out that there is something hidden under the surface.

The way the scene was picturised, you could see the anguish and pain on Swamini's face; she definitely has a reason for being apprehensive, there's something greatly amiss.

You have obviously picked up on that, because you've felt that she does have a reason behind it, so I think it's up to the individual viewers to skim out what they see and what the writers are trying to show.
