Arjun comes out of the car and after taking off his shoes, enters the mandir. He was recalling that the first time Purvi hung on to him in a mandir when she saw the snake. He looks around for her and finally finds her standing in front of Bahgwaan's murti praying with her eyes close. He quietly goes and stands next to her. She is sobbing and tears are rolling down her face. He waits and then he slightly touches her shoulders. Purvi open her eys and turns to look at the person and finds Arjun.
"Tum.." she is surprised to see him.
"Purvi.. mein tum ko sari raat se dhoond raha hoon." Arjun says and holds her arm and takes her away from the Bhagwaan's murti not wanting to disturb others and Purvi can see that his eyes are red and he is not shaved and had a sleepless night.
"Tum mere peechay kyun aaye ho.." She asks him, still blaming herself. "Tum ko toh Ovi ke saath hona chahiye tha.." She sounded upset.
"meri baat suno Purvi" he snubs her. "Baat sub ko pata chal gayee hai.. aur mein ne to tumhari aaji ko bhi sab bata diya hai."
"Tum ne Aaji ko sab bata diya?" she was shocked." Kyun Arjun kyun." she was angry, "mera tum se koi nata nahin hai .. jo tha woh khatum ho gaya.."
Arjun looks ar Purvi and says, "dekho Purvi mein ne toh Aaji ko sab bataya hai".. he tries to calm her down. "Tumhara koi kasoor nahin hai." he comforts her "mein ne bataya ke mein ne kabhi Ovi se pyar hi nahin kiya, aur mere dad ne mujh se poochay baghair Ovi se meri engagement surprise party mein di thi." he tells her and Purvi keeps looking into his eyes.
"aur mein ne ye bhi bataya tha, ke Purvi mujh se pyaar karti hai." Purvi's facial expression changes in disbelief. "Lekin jab uss ko party mein hi pata chala ke Ovi Arachana aunty ki beti hai toh ek dum se peechay hutt gaye"..Arjun continues ".. aur uss ne dekha ke Archana aunty Ovi ki sigai ko le kar bahut khush hai.
"lekin Arjun" Purvi stops him ".. ab meri tumhari kahani yahan par khatum hoti hai." she sounded decisive. "Mein apne aai ki khushi ko khatum nahin honay doon gi." "jaisa woh chahti hain waisa hi hoga.."
"oh Purvi.." Arjun shakes his head in disbelief. "Tum kyun apni baat par adhi hui ho..Jo sacch hai woh tumko bhi pata hai.. aur agar iss sari baat mein kissi ka kasoor hai toh woh mein hoon." Arjun does not want Purvi to think that she will be blamed. He then pauses and has an idea "Chalo sab baatein chodo.." He holds her hand and walks in front of the Bhagwaan's murti and says. "Inhi ko tum maanti ho na.."
Purvi is not sure what he means and asks "kya matlab.."
"matlab ye ke yeh tumharey Bhagwaan hain na.. "raising his hand towards the murti.
"Haan .. yehi haan.. lekin tum kyun aisa keh rahey ho?" she is not clear about his intent
"Inn ke samney tum jhoot bolti ho?" he asks her
"Nahin..lekin baat kya hai.." Purvi is puzzled.
"Inn ke samney hum dono khadey hain..ab inn ki maujoodgi mein tum se poochta hoon.." Arjun makes her ready for the question
"Kya poochtey ho Arjun? " Purvi is confused.
"yehi ke kya tum mujhse pyaar karti ho?" He stumps Purvi. She stands still and was not expecting how Arjun would trap her to get the truth out of her.
"Apne Bhagwaan ke samney batao.. tum agar jhoot bhi bolo gi toh mein maan loon ga.." Arjun shows his full faith that Purvi will never lie in front of her Bhagwaan.
"yeh tum ne .." Purvi is hesitant..
"Sawaal ka jawaab do.." Arjun disregards what she is saying
"Ovi meri aai ki khushi hai.." Purvi starts to justify
"Jo bhi hai..Purvi ..mujhe jawab do" Arjun still not interested in any clarifications
"Meri Aai aur mere Baba mujh par itna wvshwaas kartey hain.. " Purvi is still not answering "woh mere barey mein kya sochein ge.."
"Purvi.. " Arjun says in an understanding tone "jo tum keh rahi ho.. woh tumhari socch hai..mujhe sirf jawab chahiye.."
"Arjun, meri Aai badi mushkil se unnke ..." Purvi is still hesitant
"Purvi..Purvi.." Arjun now is getting impatient "Please mein ne jo sawal poocha hai uss ka jawab do.."
"Kya poocha tha " Purvi is quite lost
"Yehi ke kya tum mujh se pyaar karti ho." he repeats his question
"Purvi gives a long pause and she reminded of the moment when she acknowledged his love at the airport puts her head down and slowly says "haan."
"Kya kaha, " Arjun just asks her again..
"haan " Purvi still keeps it lows .. feeling guilty.
"Purvi zara zorr se bolo, Bhagwaan ko awaaz nahi ja rahi.. " Arjun asks her in a loud
"Haan!!! mein tumse pyaar karti hoon.." She looks in his eyes and repeats "Haan Arjun mein tumse pyaar karti hoon .. lekin meri.." Purvi wants to add something to it but Arjun stops her and says "Buss yehi kaafi hai.." holds her hands and pulls her along out of the mandir.
They put on their shoes and Arjun opens the car door for her and she gets into the car. Arjun takes the driving seat and off they drive.
"Arjun hum kahan ja rahey hain" Purvi is still worried and asks him
"Tumharey ghar ja rahey hain. Aaji bhi saari raat se pareshaan hai" he tells her. "Tumhara phone kahan hai? " he asks her
"Woh mein ne off kar diya hai.. mujhe daar tha ke kahin Aai na phone kar de.. mein uss se kiss munh se baat karoon gi. " Purvi says
"Dekho Purvi, ab jo hona tha ho chuka, humara pyaar hi humari taaqat hai. This is our bond.. aur ye mein kabhi bhi tootnay nahin doon ga." Arjun is very releived that she has admiited again, No matter she was trying to withdraw from their relationship, because of her family, but she is in love with him and thats what he wanted her to realise and accept in the mandir.
They reach home, Purvi gets out of the car, its early morning and people at the Chawl are beginning to rise and start their day with morning chores. Arjun knocks at the door and Aaji opens the door and she sees Purvi and hugs her "kahan chali gayee thi Purvi.. tujhey zara bhi mera khayaal nahi aaya?" Aaji starts to cry
"Nahin Aaji.." mujhey bass samjh nahi aaya ke mein kya karoon, sab mujh ko ho dosh dein gay." Purvi responds hugging Aaji and claring her action.
"Tu ney toh meri jaan nikaal di.. " Aaji starts adds shikwa with her concern. "koi aisay karta hai?" She suddenly realises.. "tu kahan thi raat bhar??"
"aaji.. yeh mandir mein thi.." Arjun tells her
"Tujhe mujh par itna bhi bharosa nahin tha ke mere paas aati aur sari baat mujh se kehti. " Aaji is annoyed and hurt.
"Nahin Aaji.." Purvi puts her arms around Aaji's shoulders and says "sub kucch itna achaanak hua ke mere hosh hi udh gaye."
"Chalo munh haath dholay.. aur Arjun aur tu naashta kar lo.. sari raat ka kucch nahin khaya ho ga." Aaji looks at Arjun
"Nahin Aaji.. " Arjun says "ab toh meri bhook udh gayee hai.. ab ja ke sona hai, neend poori karni hai.. " Arjun looks at Purvi and says Aaki ladli ne saari raat nacha ke rakh diya."
Purvi starts to go to her room to freshen up.
"Theek keh raha hai tu Arjun.. " Aaji smiles .. "tu ne saabit kar diya hai ke waqaye tu meri Purvi se pyaar karta hai. " Purvi stops and is amazaed to hear it from Aaji, she never thought Aaji would approve of their love especially once Ovi is the effected person.
"mein chalta hoon .. " Arjun says.. Purvi turns back to says "Thanks Arjun" and sees that Aaji is also watching her.. she blushes. Arjun walks out and drives off. Purvi turns around to go to her room and Aaji calls her "ruk zara.. " Purvi turns arounds facing Aaji.
Aaji walks up to her and looks at her and Purvi looks down at the ground, avoiding to look Aaji in the eyes.
"Mujhey Arjun ne sab bata diya hai.." Aaji tells her
"Kya bataya hai.." Purvi speaks in a low note, not able to raise her head.
"Yehi..tu aur Arjun ek doosre se pyaar kartey ho. Aaji smiles as she says this
"Phir.. "Purvi still does not look up.
" Phir kya .. uss ne yeh bhi bataya ke jab tujhey pata chala Ovi ke baarey mein toh tu peechay hutt gayee.." Aaji was proud that she cares for her family.
"Haan Aaji, mein nahin jaanti thi..jab dekha ke Aai kitni khush thi iss engagement ko le kar to mein daar gaye ke Aai ki khushiaan na kharaab hon." Purvi conveyed her guilt.
"Purvi agar tujhey woh pasand tha to mujhay toh bataya hota. " Aaji comforts her. "Ab mein tere munh se sunnana chahti hoon, jaisa Arjun keh raha tha, kya tu bhi uss se pyaar .. " she stops short
"Haan . AAji.. woh theek keh raha tha." Aaji puts her palm on her cheek and says .. iss mein koi burai nahin hai.. tu ab fikr na kar, mein tere saath hoon."
"leikin Aai.." She is still worried about Archana.. and takes Aaji hand in hers and says "meri Aai mujhey kya samjhey gi."
"Woh bhi tujhey jee jaa se chahti hai." Aaji gently pushes her towards her room and adds "jaa ab ja kar kapdey badal ley"
Scene changes
Archana gets up in the morning and goes to the kitchen to prepare tea. Her phone rings and she attends. "haan Aai.." and Aaji tells about last night how Purvi left home and Arjun came and told her everything and then he went to look for Purvi and brought her back and also tells her that they love each other. Archana is shocked and speechless. She could never think that this could be true. She felt as if Purvi broke her trust. "Aai mein phir baat karti hoon" and disconnects the phone. She recalls what happened at the party. How she stood for Purvi and now how hurt is Ovi.
"yeh nahin ho sakta.. " she talks to herself.. "yeh kaisay ho gaya.. meri Ovi toh iss dukh ko bardasht nahin kar sakey gi... Manav kya sochain ge .. meri parvarish theek nahin hai." She does not know what to do. "Purvi, ye tu ne kya kar diya.. mujhay Manav ko batana ho ga.." Manav walks into the room and sees Archana is worried, he understands and consoles Archana and says "Archana mein janta hoon ke Purvi aisa kuch nahin kar sakti, mujhey uss par aur tumhari parvarish par bharosa hai."
"Leikin Manav asl mein baat voh hi hai.." Archana does not know how to put it.
"Tum kya keh rahi ho..Archana " speaks a bit louder as he is in a disbelief. Savita also stops by to hear it and Ovi and Tejju could hear them in the room. She tells him about last night what Arjun told Aaji.
"Ye sach nahin ho sakta.." Manav is shocked "Arjun aisa nahin kar sakta.."
"Dekha ab kiss tarah ye dono maa beti humari Ovi ki khushi to kharab karney par tulli hui hain" Savita spits out her venom. "Ovi ka itna acha rishta dekh kar in ke munh mein paani aa gaya hai.. " Ovi and Teju also come out to listen this.
"Yeh Arjun ne kal raat meri Aai ko bataya hai." Archana clarifies the source
"Toh iss mein teri Aai bhi milli hui hai.." Savita blames the whole family.
"Yeh aurat mujh se aur humari khushion se jalti hai.." Ovi blames Archana considering it her move to stop this marriage. Archana is hurt to hear it from Ovi, but does not respond to her, instead asks Manav "Manav aap DK sir aur Arjun se baat karen.."
"Arjun mere alawaa kisi aur se pyar nahin kar sakta.." Ovi is very sure and self conceited about her love.
"Tu aur teri woh anaat beti." Savita continues to taunt Archana.. "ab uss ko istimaal karegi tu.. " Teju looks at Savita and says "aisa mutt keh Aaji"
"Tu chup kar.." Savita snubs her, "tu apni behan ki fikar kar."
Manav calls DK on his phone and talks to him about Arjun, and DK tells him the truth, Manav is shocked and shouts at DK, blaming him for hiding the truth and throws the phone in anger. Manav sits on the nearest chair and hold his head in his hands. He is very angry "jis ne meri beti ki khusion se khelney ki koshish ki, mein uss ko chodoon ga nahin."
"Kya kaha DK sir ne.." Archana asks her.
"Arjun humari Ovi se shadi nahin karna chahta." Manav is very angry.
"Dekh liya iss manhoos aurat ko " she addresses Ovi and Teju and points at Archana, "iss ke kadam iss ghar par padhey aur humari Ovi ki khushian chinn gaye.."
"aaji.. " Teju stops Savita from blaming Archana, "kasoor toh Arjun ka hai.."
"leikin iss laalchi aurat ne apni beti ko Arjun ke peechay lagaya ho ga.. taakey woh Arjun ko phassa ley.. " Savita chews out every word. Teju can see Archana's pain and also notices that Savita never let go any chance to humiliate Archana in front of Ovi and Teju. Archana does not say anything. She goes to her room. She has decided to go and meet Purvi.
Scene changes
Archana enters her house, Aaji opens the door and Archana asks "Aai, Purvi kahan hai" she is angry. "iss ladki ne khandaan bhar mein mujhay kahin ka na choda."
"Apney kamrey main hai" Aai responds, then as Archana heads towards Purvi's room. Aai calls "Archu, pehlay poori baat jaan le, phir kucch kehna uss ko."
"aai jitna maan mujhey iss ladki par tha woh sab thod diya.." Archana looses her temper. Purvi comes out of her room, her eyes are swollen as if she has been crying. "Aai " she addresses Archana " acha hua tu aa gayee.." Purvi tells Archana " mein ne tujh se kuch baat karni thi."
"Ab baat karney ko kya reh gaya hai" Archana also screams "tu aisa kaisay kar sakti hai .. tu jaanti hai ke Arjun Ovi ki zindagi hai, woh uss ko bachpaan se pasand karti hai." Purvi becomes quiet as Archana was not even willing to listen to her side of the story. "Tujhe zaera bhi meri khushi ka khyaal nahin aaya"
"Aai meri baat toh sunn" Purvi pleads, she wanted to clear Archana's misunderstanding.
"Archu tu Purvi ki baat toh sunn" Aaji interferes
"ab mein iss ki kya baat sunnoon, Manav, Ovi, Teju, saray hi pareshan ho gaye hain.. pura ghar iss gham se nikal nahin pa raha. Aur jab mein samjh rahi thi ke mein apne pariwaar ki khushion mein hissa loon gi toh yeh ho gaya."
"Yeh tu kya keh rahi hai Archu" Aaji is surprised to hear this from Archana. "kya Purvi tera Parivaar nahin hai.."
"Iss ne aisa kyun kya, .." she starts crying.. "ab mera iss se kuch laina dana nahin hai."
Purvi gets in a state of shock and does not believe her ears, she cries and begs "aai kya tu mujhey bolna ka aik mauqa bhi nahin daigi.."
"kya teray pass kucch bolne ko reh gaya hai." Archana snaps at her. She is mad at Purvi "meri nazaron ke samney se door ho ja.." Aaji holds Archana giving her support to otherwise she would have fallen down on the ground... Archana was in lot of pain, she wanted her family back and this incident will push her out of the family. Purvi also steps forward and tries to hold Archana hand but she shakes her away "door ho ja mujhse.."
Purvi slowly steps back and she walks out of the room. Archana cries and cries as Aaji tries to console her.
Scene changes
Purvi is on the road walking as if lost. She is crying as she recalls Archana's behavior. Suddenly a car stops by and the driver rolls down the glass and says "Tum phir ro rahi ho." its the same young man who met her at the mandir.
Purvi looks at him but she is in a state of shock and does not pay any attention.
"Aye madam, mein tum se baat kar raha hoon.." now Purvi looks at him and recognises him and with her hand she wipes off her tears.
"Mujhe pechana, mein wohi hoon mandir wala. Aao gadhi mein baitho, sadak par tamasha toh nahin lagana." and open the passenger door. Purvi walks around and sits in the car. The car a/c is running and a song playing on the radio.
"Kya abhi tak ghar nahin gayee?" and he drives the car.
Purvi looks at him and sort of appreciates his frankness and the caring tone. "..gayee thi." she pauses and says "leikin wohi hua jis ka mujhey darr tha."
The young man waits for her to finish
"Meri Aai mujh se naraaz ho gayee" and she felt like telling him everything.
"acha .. " he waits but Purvi does not say anything.. he then asks "toh tum phir ghar chod kar aa gayee ho?"
"mein kya karoon, meri Aai meri shakal nahin dekhna chahti .." Purvi tells him.
"mujhe poori baat batao.." he asks and then she confides in him tells him what happened after Arjun picked her from the mandir till Archana came home. he listens to her patiently. After she completes her narration he smiles "burra na manana iss mein eik baat toh achi hai ke Arjun aur tum aik doosre ko pyaar kartey ho, doosra ye ke tumhari Aaji ne bhi tumko support kya ab reh gayee tumhari Aai" and looks at her and then says "iss ke paon 2 kashtiyon mein hain." Lekin shayaad woh bhi dil ke haathon majboor hai." He gives his analysis. "lekin uss ko tumharey saath aisa bartav nahin karna chahiye tha"
"Nahin.. mein issi qaabil hoon" Purvi is annoyed at herself because Archana is annoyed with her.
"Mera matlab ye tha ke uss ko tumhari baat sunn laini chahiye thi.." He clarifies and then he says "mein toh apni Aai ka aklota beta tha..lekin kissi achi maa ko apnay bachoon mein farq nahin karna chaiye" he gives his perspective.
"Aap ne toh challey jana tha. " Purvi asks him because this is what he told her at the mandir.
"Haan challa gaya tha bhye, thodi dair pehlay hi aaya hoon, hotel ja raha tha toh tum par nazar padh gayee.. mein ne socha ke ye roti hui shakal kahin dekhi hui hai " and lets out a little giggle. Smile comes on Purvi lips, and he continues, "leikin ab 2 kaam hain mujhey yahan par, aik toh meri business meeting hai aur doosra kissi ko dhoondhna hai." He tells her. "aur iska matlab yeh bhi hai ke mein kuch dinon ke liye yahan par hoon."
Purvi quietly listens to him. Then he asks "aao tumhey tumharey ghar chod doon."
Purvi is hesitant.. "meri Aai mujhse ghusay hai."
"Jo bhi ho, ghar chodna achi baat nahin hai. Meri maano toh aisa mutt kiya karo, jabke mere nazdeek tum ne aisa koi ghalat bhi nahin kiya." He tries to convince her. She does not say anything. But tends to agree with him. "kiss taraf jana hai?" he wants her to give the directions. Purvi starts giving him the directions. The car stops in front of her house and Purvi opens the door to get out, He keeps sitting inside.
"aap ander nahin aayenge" Purvi invites him
"Nahin iss dafa nahin.." he says "tumharey ghar ka mahaul abhi tense hai aur aise mein ek outsider ke samney koi baat shru ho gayee toh tum logon ke liye embarrassment ho jayegi. " he gives her the reason.
"outsider.." Purvi is surprised that he used this word. "jitna mein ne apne barey mein aap ko bataya hai, utna toh Arjun ko bhi nahin pata .." She makes him feel important. "Aaiye.. ander aaiye" she insists.
"acha .. ab toh chalna hi padhey ga" He gets out of the car and follows Purvi to the house. She knocks and Aaji opens the door. She is releived to see Purvi back and asks "kahan chali gayee thi."
"Bas aaji mein bahar chali gayee thi." Purvi replies and turns her head back towards the door and calls "ander aa jaiye." and the young man puts his step at the main door and suddenly stops there. He feels as if something has surrounded him, welcoming him into the house. He feels that he knows this place, The fragrance and the smell is familiar. Then he looks at the old lady standing in front of him staring at him constantly. Their eyes meet and there is an eye lock. Both stare at each other as if they knew each other. Purvi breaks the trance "ander aaiye please!!"
"Haan haan" he comes out of the trance and puts his hand together and says "namaste. aap inki aaji hain"
"Haan mein isski aaji hoon" and then looks at Purvi as if asking "keh ye kaun hai" Purvi understands her question and tells her "Aaji yeh SD hain" she realises that she never asked his name but recalls from the paper he left with his number and the message.
"aao beta baitho." she does not want to embarrass SD by asking what sort of name was that."mein Purvi ki Aaji hoon" she introduces herself.
"Purvi.. " he mumbles and nods. He never asked her name and he sat on the sofa. He keeps looking around the room not knowing why. Aaji notices and asks "kya kuch chahiye" then looks at Purvi and says "tu chaye nashtay bana ke le aa." Purvi goes towards the kitchen and Aaji follows her. Aaji asks Purvi in a low tone "yeh kaun hai Purvi, tujhey kahan mila.. bada jana pechaana lagta hai."
"Aaji woh toh batati hoon, pehlay ye bata ke Aai chali gayee.." Purvi asks her .. she was worried as Archana is angry at her.
"Haan woh chali gayee hai, uss ki chinta mutt kar, uss ka ghussa uttray ga toh mein uss ko smajha loongi." Aaji comforts her. "mein ja kar uss ke pass baithi hoon" and goes back into the sitting room. SD is constantly looking at the room as if he is amazed.
After looking around the room he comments "ghar ki si feeling aa rahi hai" Meri maa ne bhi ghar ko issi tarah sajaya tha."
"Haan beta sab ghar aik jaise hi hotay hain, tumhari maa kahan hoti hain." Aaji just to takes the conversation forward asks her
"Ab woh iss duniya mein nahin rahi.." He answers her as if he is thinking about his mother.
"Oh! Ho!.. muaf karna beta mujhay pata nahin tha. " Aaji apologises for asking a question which had such a painful answer.
"tum rehtay issi shehar mein ho?" she asks him
"nahin.. " mein Delhi se aaya hoon." he tells her. Purvi brings in the tray with serves him.
Scene changes
They have finished the nashta and SD gets up and asks permission to leave. Aaji somehow likes him and felt some sort of connection or bond but that was all she could feel. She offers him "Beta jab dil kare milnay ko aa jao."
SD looks at her and there is some sort of sadness which creeps up onto him. He looks at Purvi and says "tum bahut khush kismat ho ke tumhey aisi Aaji mili.. "
"Beta sari Aajian aisi hi hoti hain" Aaji says "tumhari Aaji bhi aisi hi hogi"
"nahin.. " the young man says "mein ne apni Aaji ko kabhi dekha nahin. "
"yeh hain na " Purvi adds to his sentence.
"kya mein aap ko Aaji keh ke pukaar sakta hoon.. " his eyes become wet as he says this. "mein ne iss shabd se kisi ko pukara nahin.."
"kyun nahin jaisey mein Purvi ki Aaji hoon, waisay teri bhi. " Aaji welcomes him.
"Acha Aaji.. " he says and stops to feel the word coming out of his mouth. He never had this relation in his life. "Aaji.. mein ab chalta hoon. Aap se milne zaroor aaonga." He walks out of the door gets to his car and drives off.
Aaji shuts the main door. Purvi goes to her room and Aaji goes to the kitchen and there is a knock at the door. Purvi rushes to open the door and Teju is standing at the door.
"Purvi kaun hai.." Aaji asks her from inside the kitchen.
"Dekh Aaji kaun aaya hai" Purvi is happy to see Teju back in her house.
"Ruk ja Purvi.." Aaji commands coming into the room. Teju stops at the door and Purvi looks at Aaji.
"Aaji hum se milnay aai hai? " Purvi says
"milnay..." Aaji is now angry as she recalled the last time when Teju was very rude with them and offered money for her stay. "isska humara koi rishta nahin hai. ab kiss liye aai hai?"
"aaji mein ne Purvi se kuch poochna chahti hoon" Teju says in a low note. Teju understands why aaji is angry. But she saw what happened at the party and then heard what DK had told Manav and now Archana came back home and was constantly angry and crying. She, in her heart, never believed that Purvi could do something like that to hurt Ovi. But she wanted to find it out from Purvi. The whole family was being affected and so was Purvi.
"kaun Purvi.. aur kaun Aaji" Aaji is beginning to lose her temper. "mein kissi aisi ladki ki Aaji nahin ho sakti jo pyaar ko paison mein tolti ho and apney rishton mein zahar bhara ho."
"Pehlay meri Archana ki zindagi mein zahar bhara ab meri Pruvi ki zindagi mein zahar bhar rahey ho.." Aaji lets it out.
"Aaji janey de.. Teju waisi nahin hai.." Purvi tries to control Aaji and Teju is surprised at Purvi who was taking her side inspite of all what she did and thought about her.
"tu rehnay Purvi" Aaji shuns her "ye aa kar apni maa ko kehti hain ke 18 saalon mein uss ne inkay barre mein pata nahin kiya. Apney se door kya." Aaji is now talking to Purvi. " Kabhi khud inko khyaal nahin aaya.. ke maa ka pata karti. Jis ne inki maa ke barey mein jo kaha wohi such maan liya, koi apni maa ke khilaaf aisay baat kaisay maan laita hai, Inhon ne kabhi apne baap se nahin poocha ke tum ne humari maa ko kyun choda? aur kabhi inn ke mann mein ye sawaal nahin aaya ke aakhir humari maa ne kiss majboori ki wajah se humay apne se door kar diya."
Teju is listening to it in disbelief, she never asked these questions.
"Aur .. " Aaji is at the verge of crying says " aur kiss ne in bachion ko eik maa ke hotay huay bhi, bin maa ki bachiyon ke tarah jeenay par majboor kiya." Aaji wipes her tears off. "tumhari aur Ovi ko kya shakaiyat thi, Manav bhi meri Archu ko yehi taanay marta hai ke tumhari maa ne tumhey yaad nahin rakha..tumhey woh bhool gayee thi inn 18 barsoon mein.." Again her eyes are filled with tears, it was always very painful for her to see Archana suffering at the hands of her own family.
"Idhar ander aa" she asks Teju to enter and then holds her hand and almost drags her into one of the rooms and opens the Almirah. There are small dresses and toys and then various gifts and a small place to worship. "Yeh dekh rahi hai." she asks Teju.. who does not realise what Aaji was showing her. "Yeh tum dono behno ki har salgirah par Archana tumharey liye tofay laiti thi aur Bappa se prathana karti thi. " Teju looks at it in a disbelief .. She was told that her mother never cared about her daughters but now she could see for herself. Inspite of being a strong girl, tears flow down her cheek."Archu ne hi uss din tumahari salgirah ka Manav ko yaad dilaya tha."
"Aaji .. mujhay.." Teju tries to say something but Aaji stops her. "Mujhay kuch mutt bata.. jo tu ne kehna tha, uss din keh diya tha jab tu humey humaray pyaar ki keemat paisay de kar chuka rahi thi. aur ye ke Archu ne tum se chupa ke rakha ke woh tumhari maa hai aur mein tumhari Aaji.. ye bhi tumhare baap ne mana kya tha, bulkey woh toh tumharay uss se milney ke bhi khilaaf tha"
Teju was stunned to hear this all, blood was rushing towards her head. But she did not know how to react. Why her father did that. She also recalls her father getting angry at her for coming to india without letting him know, but now she understands why he was really angry.
"I am .." Teju tries to apologise. But Aaji did not want to listen to her and says "Jin rishton ke barrey mein tumharey ander itni nafrat bhari hai, un rishton ka koi matlab nahin hai." and then looks at Purvi and says "iss ko bahar darvazey par chod ke aa."
Purvi does not move and says "aaji .. mutt keh aisay.."
Aaji then tells Teju "jiss din tu iss ghar ki beti bannay ke laiq ho jayegi toh chali aana. Koi beti apni maa ke saath iss tarah ka salook na karti hai aur na hi hotey dekh sakti hai.. ab meharbani kar aur yahan se ja." She asks Teju to leave. What all Aaji said seemed so true. She and Ovi were given this impression about their own mother. And they found Archana and Aaji very loving but when they came to know the real relationship, the hatred seeded into both the sisters kept them from accepting Archana as their mother. Teju walks outside the door, she heard the door shut behind her.. she sits on the steps and starts to cry. How her have been treating her own mother, was it her fault like they have been told all their life. She recalls how she met Archana and how she looked after her. Why Savitra Aaji and my dad have been so against Archana. Is my mother really bad. She then slowly gets up and walks away.
Arjun comes out of the car and after taking off his shoes, enters the mandir. He was recalling that the first time Purvi hung on to him in a mandir when she saw the snake. He looks around for her and finally finds her standing in front of Bahgwaan's murti praying with her eyes close. He quietly goes and stands next to her. She is sobbing and tears are rolling down her face. He waits and then he slightly touches her shoulders. Purvi open her eys and turns to look at the person and finds Arjun.
"Tum.." she is surprised to see him.
"Purvi.. mein tum ko sari raat se dhoond raha hoon." Arjun says and holds her arm and takes her away from the Bhagwaan's murti not wanting to disturb others and Purvi can see that his eyes are red and he is not shaved and had a sleepless night.
"Tum mere peechay kyun aaye ho.." She asks him, still blaming herself. "Tum ko toh Ovi ke saath hona chahiye tha.." She sounded upset.
"meri baat suno Purvi" he snubs her. "Baat sub ko pata chal gayee hai.. aur mein ne to tumhari aaji ko bhi sab bata diya hai."
"Tum ne Aaji ko sab bata diya?" she was shocked." Kyun Arjun kyun." she was angry, "mera tum se koi nata nahin hai .. jo tha woh khatum ho gaya.."
Arjun looks ar Purvi and says, "dekho Purvi mein ne toh Aaji ko sab bataya hai".. he tries to calm her down. "Tumhara koi kasoor nahin hai." he comforts her "mein ne bataya ke mein ne kabhi Ovi se pyar hi nahin kiya, aur mere dad ne mujh se poochay baghair Ovi se meri engagement surprise party mein di thi." he tells her and Purvi keeps looking into his eyes.
"aur mein ne ye bhi bataya tha, ke Purvi mujh se pyaar karti hai." Purvi's facial expression changes in disbelief. "Lekin jab uss ko party mein hi pata chala ke Ovi Arachana aunty ki beti hai toh ek dum se peechay hutt gaye"..Arjun continues ".. aur uss ne dekha ke Archana aunty Ovi ki sigai ko le kar bahut khush hai.
"lekin Arjun" Purvi stops him ".. ab meri tumhari kahani yahan par khatum hoti hai." she sounded decisive. "Mein apne aai ki khushi ko khatum nahin honay doon gi." "jaisa woh chahti hain waisa hi hoga.."
"oh Purvi.." Arjun shakes his head in disbelief. "Tum kyun apni baat par adhi hui ho..Jo sacch hai woh tumko bhi pata hai.. aur agar iss sari baat mein kissi ka kasoor hai toh woh mein hoon." Arjun does not want Purvi to think that she will be blamed. He then pauses and has an idea "Chalo sab baatein chodo.." He holds her hand and walks in front of the Bhagwaan's murti and says. "Inhi ko tum maanti ho na.."
Purvi is not sure what he means and asks "kya matlab.."
"matlab ye ke yeh tumharey Bhagwaan hain na.. "raising his hand towards the murti.
"Haan .. yehi haan.. lekin tum kyun aisa keh rahey ho?" she is not clear about his intent
"Inn ke samney tum jhoot bolti ho?" he asks her
"Nahin..lekin baat kya hai.." Purvi is puzzled.
"Inn ke samney hum dono khadey hain..ab inn ki maujoodgi mein tum se poochta hoon.." Arjun makes her ready for the question
"Kya poochtey ho Arjun? " Purvi is confused.
"yehi ke kya tum mujhse pyaar karti ho?" He stumps Purvi. She stands still and was not expecting how Arjun would trap her to get the truth out of her.
"Apne Bhagwaan ke samney batao.. tum agar jhoot bhi bolo gi toh mein maan loon ga.." Arjun shows his full faith that Purvi will never lie in front of her Bhagwaan.
"yeh tum ne .." Purvi is hesitant..
"Sawaal ka jawaab do.." Arjun disregards what she is saying
"Ovi meri aai ki khushi hai.." Purvi starts to justify
"Jo bhi hai..Purvi ..mujhe jawab do" Arjun still not interested in any clarifications
"Meri Aai aur mere Baba mujh par itna wvshwaas kartey hain.. " Purvi is still not answering "woh mere barey mein kya sochein ge.."
"Purvi.. " Arjun says in an understanding tone "jo tum keh rahi ho.. woh tumhari socch hai..mujhe sirf jawab chahiye.."
"Arjun, meri Aai badi mushkil se unnke ..." Purvi is still hesitant
"Purvi..Purvi.." Arjun now is getting impatient "Please mein ne jo sawal poocha hai uss ka jawab do.."
"Kya poocha tha " Purvi is quite lost
"Yehi ke kya tum mujh se pyaar karti ho." he repeats his question
"Purvi gives a long pause and she reminded of the moment when she acknowledged his love at the airport puts her head down and slowly says "haan."
"Kya kaha, " Arjun just asks her again..
"haan " Purvi still keeps it lows .. feeling guilty.
"Purvi zara zorr se bolo, Bhagwaan ko awaaz nahi ja rahi.. " Arjun asks her in a loud
"Haan!!! mein tumse pyaar karti hoon.." She looks in his eyes and repeats "Haan Arjun mein tumse pyaar karti hoon .. lekin meri.." Purvi wants to add something to it but Arjun stops her and says "Buss yehi kaafi hai.." holds her hands and pulls her along out of the mandir.
They put on their shoes and Arjun opens the car door for her and she gets into the car. Arjun takes the driving seat and off they drive.
"Arjun hum kahan ja rahey hain" Purvi is still worried and asks him
"Tumharey ghar ja rahey hain. Aaji bhi saari raat se pareshaan hai" he tells her. "Tumhara phone kahan hai? " he asks her
"Woh mein ne off kar diya hai.. mujhe daar tha ke kahin Aai na phone kar de.. mein uss se kiss munh se baat karoon gi. " Purvi says
"Dekho Purvi, ab jo hona tha ho chuka, humara pyaar hi humari taaqat hai. This is our bond.. aur ye mein kabhi bhi tootnay nahin doon ga." Arjun is very releived that she has admiited again, No matter she was trying to withdraw from their relationship, because of her family, but she is in love with him and thats what he wanted her to realise and accept in the mandir.
They reach home, Purvi gets out of the car, its early morning and people at the Chawl are beginning to rise and start their day with morning chores. Arjun knocks at the door and Aaji opens the door and she sees Purvi and hugs her "kahan chali gayee thi Purvi.. tujhey zara bhi mera khayaal nahi aaya?" Aaji starts to cry
"Nahin Aaji.." mujhey bass samjh nahi aaya ke mein kya karoon, sab mujh ko ho dosh dein gay." Purvi responds hugging Aaji and claring her action.
"Tu ney toh meri jaan nikaal di.. " Aaji starts adds shikwa with her concern. "koi aisay karta hai?" She suddenly realises.. "tu kahan thi raat bhar??"
"aaji.. yeh mandir mein thi.." Arjun tells her
"Tujhe mujh par itna bhi bharosa nahin tha ke mere paas aati aur sari baat mujh se kehti. " Aaji is annoyed and hurt.
"Nahin Aaji.." Purvi puts her arms around Aaji's shoulders and says "sub kucch itna achaanak hua ke mere hosh hi udh gaye."
"Chalo munh haath dholay.. aur Arjun aur tu naashta kar lo.. sari raat ka kucch nahin khaya ho ga." Aaji looks at Arjun
"Nahin Aaji.. " Arjun says "ab toh meri bhook udh gayee hai.. ab ja ke sona hai, neend poori karni hai.. " Arjun looks at Purvi and says Aaki ladli ne saari raat nacha ke rakh diya."
Purvi starts to go to her room to freshen up.
"Theek keh raha hai tu Arjun.. " Aaji smiles .. "tu ne saabit kar diya hai ke waqaye tu meri Purvi se pyaar karta hai. " Purvi stops and is amazaed to hear it from Aaji, she never thought Aaji would approve of their love especially once Ovi is the effected person.
"mein chalta hoon .. " Arjun says.. Purvi turns back to says "Thanks Arjun" and sees that Aaji is also watching her.. she blushes. Arjun walks out and drives off. Purvi turns around to go to her room and Aaji calls her "ruk zara.. " Purvi turns arounds facing Aaji.
Aaji walks up to her and looks at her and Purvi looks down at the ground, avoiding to look Aaji in the eyes.
"Mujhey Arjun ne sab bata diya hai.." Aaji tells her
"Kya bataya hai.." Purvi speaks in a low note, not able to raise her head.
"Yehi..tu aur Arjun ek doosre se pyaar kartey ho. Aaji smiles as she says this
"Phir.. "Purvi still does not look up.
" Phir kya .. uss ne yeh bhi bataya ke jab tujhey pata chala Ovi ke baarey mein toh tu peechay hutt gayee.." Aaji was proud that she cares for her family.
"Haan Aaji, mein nahin jaanti thi..jab dekha ke Aai kitni khush thi iss engagement ko le kar to mein daar gaye ke Aai ki khushiaan na kharaab hon." Purvi conveyed her guilt.
"Purvi agar tujhey woh pasand tha to mujhay toh bataya hota. " Aaji comforts her. "Ab mein tere munh se sunnana chahti hoon, jaisa Arjun keh raha tha, kya tu bhi uss se pyaar .. " she stops short
"Haan . AAji.. woh theek keh raha tha." Aaji puts her palm on her cheek and says .. iss mein koi burai nahin hai.. tu ab fikr na kar, mein tere saath hoon."
"leikin Aai.." She is still worried about Archana.. and takes Aaji hand in hers and says "meri Aai mujhey kya samjhey gi."
"Woh bhi tujhey jee jaa se chahti hai." Aaji gently pushes her towards her room and adds "jaa ab ja kar kapdey badal ley"
Scene changes
Archana gets up in the morning and goes to the kitchen to prepare tea. Her phone rings and she attends. "haan Aai.." and Aaji tells about last night how Purvi left home and Arjun came and told her everything and then he went to look for Purvi and brought her back and also tells her that they love each other. Archana is shocked and speechless. She could never think that this could be true. She felt as if Purvi broke her trust. "Aai mein phir baat karti hoon" and disconnects the phone. She recalls what happened at the party. How she stood for Purvi and now how hurt is Ovi.
"yeh nahin ho sakta.. " she talks to herself.. "yeh kaisay ho gaya.. meri Ovi toh iss dukh ko bardasht nahin kar sakey gi... Manav kya sochain ge .. meri parvarish theek nahin hai." She does not know what to do. "Purvi, ye tu ne kya kar diya.. mujhay Manav ko batana ho ga.." Manav walks into the room and sees Archana is worried, he understands and consoles Archana and says "Archana mein janta hoon ke Purvi aisa kuch nahin kar sakti, mujhey uss par aur tumhari parvarish par bharosa hai."
"Leikin Manav asl mein baat voh hi hai.." Archana does not know how to put it.
"Tum kya keh rahi ho..Archana " speaks a bit louder as he is in a disbelief. Savita also stops by to hear it and Ovi and Tejju could hear them in the room. She tells him about last night what Arjun told Aaji.
"Ye sach nahin ho sakta.." Manav is shocked "Arjun aisa nahin kar sakta.."
"Dekha ab kiss tarah ye dono maa beti humari Ovi ki khushi to kharab karney par tulli hui hain" Savita spits out her venom. "Ovi ka itna acha rishta dekh kar in ke munh mein paani aa gaya hai.. " Ovi and Teju also come out to listen this.
"Yeh Arjun ne kal raat meri Aai ko bataya hai." Archana clarifies the source
"Toh iss mein teri Aai bhi milli hui hai.." Savita blames the whole family.
"Yeh aurat mujh se aur humari khushion se jalti hai.." Ovi blames Archana considering it her move to stop this marriage. Archana is hurt to hear it from Ovi, but does not respond to her, instead asks Manav "Manav aap DK sir aur Arjun se baat karen.."
"Arjun mere alawaa kisi aur se pyar nahin kar sakta.." Ovi is very sure and self conceited about her love.
"Tu aur teri woh anaat beti." Savita continues to taunt Archana.. "ab uss ko istimaal karegi tu.. " Teju looks at Savita and says "aisa mutt keh Aaji"
"Tu chup kar.." Savita snubs her, "tu apni behan ki fikar kar."
Manav calls DK on his phone and talks to him about Arjun, and DK tells him the truth, Manav is shocked and shouts at DK, blaming him for hiding the truth and throws the phone in anger. Manav sits on the nearest chair and hold his head in his hands. He is very angry "jis ne meri beti ki khusion se khelney ki koshish ki, mein uss ko chodoon ga nahin."
"Kya kaha DK sir ne.." Archana asks her.
"Arjun humari Ovi se shadi nahin karna chahta." Manav is very angry.
"Dekh liya iss manhoos aurat ko " she addresses Ovi and Teju and points at Archana, "iss ke kadam iss ghar par padhey aur humari Ovi ki khushian chinn gaye.."
"aaji.. " Teju stops Savita from blaming Archana, "kasoor toh Arjun ka hai.."
"leikin iss laalchi aurat ne apni beti ko Arjun ke peechay lagaya ho ga.. taakey woh Arjun ko phassa ley.. " Savita chews out every word. Teju can see Archana's pain and also notices that Savita never let go any chance to humiliate Archana in front of Ovi and Teju. Archana does not say anything. She goes to her room. She has decided to go and meet Purvi.
Scene changes
Archana enters her house, Aaji opens the door and Archana asks "Aai, Purvi kahan hai" she is angry. "iss ladki ne khandaan bhar mein mujhay kahin ka na choda."
"Apney kamrey main hai" Aai responds, then as Archana heads towards Purvi's room. Aai calls "Archu, pehlay poori baat jaan le, phir kucch kehna uss ko."
"aai jitna maan mujhey iss ladki par tha woh sab thod diya.." Archana looses her temper. Purvi comes out of her room, her eyes are swollen as if she has been crying. "Aai " she addresses Archana " acha hua tu aa gayee.." Purvi tells Archana " mein ne tujh se kuch baat karni thi."
"Ab baat karney ko kya reh gaya hai" Archana also screams "tu aisa kaisay kar sakti hai .. tu jaanti hai ke Arjun Ovi ki zindagi hai, woh uss ko bachpaan se pasand karti hai." Purvi becomes quiet as Archana was not even willing to listen to her side of the story. "Tujhe zaera bhi meri khushi ka khyaal nahin aaya"
"Aai meri baat toh sunn" Purvi pleads, she wanted to clear Archana's misunderstanding.
"Archu tu Purvi ki baat toh sunn" Aaji interferes
"ab mein iss ki kya baat sunnoon, Manav, Ovi, Teju, saray hi pareshan ho gaye hain.. pura ghar iss gham se nikal nahin pa raha. Aur jab mein samjh rahi thi ke mein apne pariwaar ki khushion mein hissa loon gi toh yeh ho gaya."
"Yeh tu kya keh rahi hai Archu" Aaji is surprised to hear this from Archana. "kya Purvi tera Parivaar nahin hai.."
"Iss ne aisa kyun kya, .." she starts crying.. "ab mera iss se kuch laina dana nahin hai."
Purvi gets in a state of shock and does not believe her ears, she cries and begs "aai kya tu mujhey bolna ka aik mauqa bhi nahin daigi.."
"kya teray pass kucch bolne ko reh gaya hai." Archana snaps at her. She is mad at Purvi "meri nazaron ke samney se door ho ja.." Aaji holds Archana giving her support to otherwise she would have fallen down on the ground... Archana was in lot of pain, she wanted her family back and this incident will push her out of the family. Purvi also steps forward and tries to hold Archana hand but she shakes her away "door ho ja mujhse.."
Purvi slowly steps back and she walks out of the room. Archana cries and cries as Aaji tries to console her.
Scene changes
Purvi is on the road walking as if lost. She is crying as she recalls Archana's behavior. Suddenly a car stops by and the driver rolls down the glass and says "Tum phir ro rahi ho." its the same young man who met her at the mandir.
Purvi looks at him but she is in a state of shock and does not pay any attention.
"Aye madam, mein tum se baat kar raha hoon.." now Purvi looks at him and recognises him and with her hand she wipes off her tears.
"Mujhe pechana, mein wohi hoon mandir wala. Aao gadhi mein baitho, sadak par tamasha toh nahin lagana." and open the passenger door. Purvi walks around and sits in the car. The car a/c is running and a song playing on the radio.
"Kya abhi tak ghar nahin gayee?" and he drives the car.
Purvi looks at him and sort of appreciates his frankness and the caring tone. "..gayee thi." she pauses and says "leikin wohi hua jis ka mujhey darr tha."
The young man waits for her to finish
"Meri Aai mujh se naraaz ho gayee" and she felt like telling him everything.
"acha .. " he waits but Purvi does not say anything.. he then asks "toh tum phir ghar chod kar aa gayee ho?"
"mein kya karoon, meri Aai meri shakal nahin dekhna chahti .." Purvi tells him.
"mujhe poori baat batao.." he asks and then she confides in him tells him what happened after Arjun picked her from the mandir till Archana came home. he listens to her patiently. After she completes her narration he smiles "burra na manana iss mein eik baat toh achi hai ke Arjun aur tum aik doosre ko pyaar kartey ho, doosra ye ke tumhari Aaji ne bhi tumko support kya ab reh gayee tumhari Aai" and looks at her and then says "iss ke paon 2 kashtiyon mein hain." Lekin shayaad woh bhi dil ke haathon majboor hai." He gives his analysis. "lekin uss ko tumharey saath aisa bartav nahin karna chahiye tha"
"Nahin.. mein issi qaabil hoon" Purvi is annoyed at herself because Archana is annoyed with her.
"Mera matlab ye tha ke uss ko tumhari baat sunn laini chahiye thi.." He clarifies and then he says "mein toh apni Aai ka aklota beta tha..lekin kissi achi maa ko apnay bachoon mein farq nahin karna chaiye" he gives his perspective.
"Aap ne toh challey jana tha. " Purvi asks him because this is what he told her at the mandir.
"Haan challa gaya tha bhye, thodi dair pehlay hi aaya hoon, hotel ja raha tha toh tum par nazar padh gayee.. mein ne socha ke ye roti hui shakal kahin dekhi hui hai " and lets out a little giggle. Smile comes on Purvi lips, and he continues, "leikin ab 2 kaam hain mujhey yahan par, aik toh meri business meeting hai aur doosra kissi ko dhoondhna hai." He tells her. "aur iska matlab yeh bhi hai ke mein kuch dinon ke liye yahan par hoon."
Purvi quietly listens to him. Then he asks "aao tumhey tumharey ghar chod doon."
Purvi is hesitant.. "meri Aai mujhse ghusay hai."
"Jo bhi ho, ghar chodna achi baat nahin hai. Meri maano toh aisa mutt kiya karo, jabke mere nazdeek tum ne aisa koi ghalat bhi nahin kiya." He tries to convince her. She does not say anything. But tends to agree with him. "kiss taraf jana hai?" he wants her to give the directions. Purvi starts giving him the directions. The car stops in front of her house and Purvi opens the door to get out, He keeps sitting inside.
"aap ander nahin aayenge" Purvi invites him
"Nahin iss dafa nahin.." he says "tumharey ghar ka mahaul abhi tense hai aur aise mein ek outsider ke samney koi baat shru ho gayee toh tum logon ke liye embarrassment ho jayegi. " he gives her the reason.
"outsider.." Purvi is surprised that he used this word. "jitna mein ne apne barey mein aap ko bataya hai, utna toh Arjun ko bhi nahin pata .." She makes him feel important. "Aaiye.. ander aaiye" she insists.
"acha .. ab toh chalna hi padhey ga" He gets out of the car and follows Purvi to the house. She knocks and Aaji opens the door. She is releived to see Purvi back and asks "kahan chali gayee thi."
"Bas aaji mein bahar chali gayee thi." Purvi replies and turns her head back towards the door and calls "ander aa jaiye." and the young man puts his step at the main door and suddenly stops there. He feels as if something has surrounded him, welcoming him into the house. He feels that he knows this place, The fragrance and the smell is familiar. Then he looks at the old lady standing in front of him staring at him constantly. Their eyes meet and there is an eye lock. Both stare at each other as if they knew each other. Purvi breaks the trance "ander aaiye please!!"
"Haan haan" he comes out of the trance and puts his hand together and says "namaste. aap inki aaji hain"
"Haan mein isski aaji hoon" and then looks at Purvi as if asking "keh ye kaun hai" Purvi understands her question and tells her "Aaji yeh SD hain" she realises that she never asked his name but recalls from the paper he left with his number and the message.
"aao beta baitho." she does not want to embarrass SD by asking what sort of name was that."mein Purvi ki Aaji hoon" she introduces herself.
"Purvi.. " he mumbles and nods. He never asked her name and he sat on the sofa. He keeps looking around the room not knowing why. Aaji notices and asks "kya kuch chahiye" then looks at Purvi and says "tu chaye nashtay bana ke le aa." Purvi goes towards the kitchen and Aaji follows her. Aaji asks Purvi in a low tone "yeh kaun hai Purvi, tujhey kahan mila.. bada jana pechaana lagta hai."
"Aaji woh toh batati hoon, pehlay ye bata ke Aai chali gayee.." Purvi asks her .. she was worried as Archana is angry at her.
"Haan woh chali gayee hai, uss ki chinta mutt kar, uss ka ghussa uttray ga toh mein uss ko smajha loongi." Aaji comforts her. "mein ja kar uss ke pass baithi hoon" and goes back into the sitting room. SD is constantly looking at the room as if he is amazed.
After looking around the room he comments "ghar ki si feeling aa rahi hai" Meri maa ne bhi ghar ko issi tarah sajaya tha."
"Haan beta sab ghar aik jaise hi hotay hain, tumhari maa kahan hoti hain." Aaji just to takes the conversation forward asks her
"Ab woh iss duniya mein nahin rahi.." He answers her as if he is thinking about his mother.
"Oh! Ho!.. muaf karna beta mujhay pata nahin tha. " Aaji apologises for asking a question which had such a painful answer.
"tum rehtay issi shehar mein ho?" she asks him
"nahin.. " mein Delhi se aaya hoon." he tells her. Purvi brings in the tray with serves him.
Scene changes
They have finished the nashta and SD gets up and asks permission to leave. Aaji somehow likes him and felt some sort of connection or bond but that was all she could feel. She offers him "Beta jab dil kare milnay ko aa jao."
SD looks at her and there is some sort of sadness which creeps up onto him. He looks at Purvi and says "tum bahut khush kismat ho ke tumhey aisi Aaji mili.. "
"Beta sari Aajian aisi hi hoti hain" Aaji says "tumhari Aaji bhi aisi hi hogi"
"nahin.. " the young man says "mein ne apni Aaji ko kabhi dekha nahin. "
"yeh hain na " Purvi adds to his sentence.
"kya mein aap ko Aaji keh ke pukaar sakta hoon.. " his eyes become wet as he says this. "mein ne iss shabd se kisi ko pukara nahin.."
"kyun nahin jaisey mein Purvi ki Aaji hoon, waisay teri bhi. " Aaji welcomes him.
"Acha Aaji.. " he says and stops to feel the word coming out of his mouth. He never had this relation in his life. "Aaji.. mein ab chalta hoon. Aap se milne zaroor aaonga." He walks out of the door gets to his car and drives off.
Aaji shuts the main door. Purvi goes to her room and Aaji goes to the kitchen and there is a knock at the door. Purvi rushes to open the door and Teju is standing at the door.
"Purvi kaun hai.." Aaji asks her from inside the kitchen.
"Dekh Aaji kaun aaya hai" Purvi is happy to see Teju back in her house.
"Ruk ja Purvi.." Aaji commands coming into the room. Teju stops at the door and Purvi looks at Aaji.
"Aaji hum se milnay aai hai? " Purvi says
"milnay..." Aaji is now angry as she recalled the last time when Teju was very rude with them and offered money for her stay. "isska humara koi rishta nahin hai. ab kiss liye aai hai?"
"aaji mein ne Purvi se kuch poochna chahti hoon" Teju says in a low note. Teju understands why aaji is angry. But she saw what happened at the party and then heard what DK had told Manav and now Archana came back home and was constantly angry and crying. She, in her heart, never believed that Purvi could do something like that to hurt Ovi. But she wanted to find it out from Purvi. The whole family was being affected and so was Purvi.
"kaun Purvi.. aur kaun Aaji" Aaji is beginning to lose her temper. "mein kissi aisi ladki ki Aaji nahin ho sakti jo pyaar ko paison mein tolti ho and apney rishton mein zahar bhara ho."
"Pehlay meri Archana ki zindagi mein zahar bhara ab meri Pruvi ki zindagi mein zahar bhar rahey ho.." Aaji lets it out.
"Aaji janey de.. Teju waisi nahin hai.." Purvi tries to control Aaji and Teju is surprised at Purvi who was taking her side inspite of all what she did and thought about her.
"tu rehnay Purvi" Aaji shuns her "ye aa kar apni maa ko kehti hain ke 18 saalon mein uss ne inkay barre mein pata nahin kiya. Apney se door kya." Aaji is now talking to Purvi. " Kabhi khud inko khyaal nahin aaya.. ke maa ka pata karti. Jis ne inki maa ke barey mein jo kaha wohi such maan liya, koi apni maa ke khilaaf aisay baat kaisay maan laita hai, Inhon ne kabhi apne baap se nahin poocha ke tum ne humari maa ko kyun choda? aur kabhi inn ke mann mein ye sawaal nahin aaya ke aakhir humari maa ne kiss majboori ki wajah se humay apne se door kar diya."
Teju is listening to it in disbelief, she never asked these questions.
"Aur .. " Aaji is at the verge of crying says " aur kiss ne in bachion ko eik maa ke hotay huay bhi, bin maa ki bachiyon ke tarah jeenay par majboor kiya." Aaji wipes her tears off. "tumhari aur Ovi ko kya shakaiyat thi, Manav bhi meri Archu ko yehi taanay marta hai ke tumhari maa ne tumhey yaad nahin rakha..tumhey woh bhool gayee thi inn 18 barsoon mein.." Again her eyes are filled with tears, it was always very painful for her to see Archana suffering at the hands of her own family.
"Idhar ander aa" she asks Teju to enter and then holds her hand and almost drags her into one of the rooms and opens the Almirah. There are small dresses and toys and then various gifts and a small place to worship. "Yeh dekh rahi hai." she asks Teju.. who does not realise what Aaji was showing her. "Yeh tum dono behno ki har salgirah par Archana tumharey liye tofay laiti thi aur Bappa se prathana karti thi. " Teju looks at it in a disbelief .. She was told that her mother never cared about her daughters but now she could see for herself. Inspite of being a strong girl, tears flow down her cheek."Archu ne hi uss din tumahari salgirah ka Manav ko yaad dilaya tha."
"Aaji .. mujhay.." Teju tries to say something but Aaji stops her. "Mujhay kuch mutt bata.. jo tu ne kehna tha, uss din keh diya tha jab tu humey humaray pyaar ki keemat paisay de kar chuka rahi thi. aur ye ke Archu ne tum se chupa ke rakha ke woh tumhari maa hai aur mein tumhari Aaji.. ye bhi tumhare baap ne mana kya tha, bulkey woh toh tumharay uss se milney ke bhi khilaaf tha"
Teju was stunned to hear this all, blood was rushing towards her head. But she did not know how to react. Why her father did that. She also recalls her father getting angry at her for coming to india without letting him know, but now she understands why he was really angry.
"I am .." Teju tries to apologise. But Aaji did not want to listen to her and says "Jin rishton ke barrey mein tumharey ander itni nafrat bhari hai, un rishton ka koi matlab nahin hai." and then looks at Purvi and says "iss ko bahar darvazey par chod ke aa."
Purvi does not move and says "aaji .. mutt keh aisay.."
Aaji then tells Teju "jiss din tu iss ghar ki beti bannay ke laiq ho jayegi toh chali aana. Koi beti apni maa ke saath iss tarah ka salook na karti hai aur na hi hotey dekh sakti hai.. ab meharbani kar aur yahan se ja." She asks Teju to leave. What all Aaji said seemed so true. She and Ovi were given this impression about their own mother. And they found Archana and Aaji very loving but when they came to know the real relationship, the hatred seeded into both the sisters kept them from accepting Archana as their mother. Teju walks outside the door, she heard the door shut behind her.. she sits on the steps and starts to cry. How her have been treating her own mother, was it her fault like they have been told all their life. She recalls how she met Archana and how she looked after her. Why Savitra Aaji and my dad have been so against Archana. Is my mother really bad. She then slowly gets up and walks away.
