From a fan's perspective, I believe that if I am getting offended because the other celebrity/superhero doesn't measure up to my expectations, I am being as haughty as I consider him, right?Originally posted by: IndigoBlues
So don't they have the right to quit all this for somebody who truly cares about them and will be there by their side even once the 1000000000 fans have disappeared? Don't they have the right to keep their personal interests above the interests of their fans?

Many a times, if you happen to go to a fancy restaurant or shopping mall, you might see a celebrity there. You might even catch a glimpse of them in the cinema theatre or at the airport. If we like the celebrity, our first instinct is to go up to them and ask for an autograph. Most of the time people go completely crazy and right from molesting the celebrity to stampeding them, our hysteria knows no end.
Of course if the celeb refuses our autograph or behaves stand-offish with us, we feel insulted. We think they are rude. Even with the paparazzi, if a celebrity's bodyguard manhandles them, they go up into an uproar. We are the reason these people are so famous. So they are obligated to cater to our every demand right? From attending and dancing at our weddings to being our dates at parties(Justin Timberlake did that once) they leave no stone unturned to fulfill their fans' wishes. The question is, what if the celeb chooses not to do the following? I'm not talking about being rude or insulting your fans. I'm talking about if I'm a famous pop star, on a date with a man I really like. The fifty fans asking for my autograph are really distracting me, so I ask the manager to keep you all away from me. Would you feel offended? In the case of TV shows I have often seen fans getting very upset when their favourite star quits the show to focus on other things(Gopi vau, Kria of DDD). We find their attitude unprofessional. After all, without our love, they would have been nowhere! Who gave them the right to do this to us? They should be asking us even before breathing!😆Suppose our world had superheroes. In times of crisis, wouldn't we expect them to solve everything for us? If our country goes to war, we would expect our native superheroes to assist the army regardless of whether they want to fight or not. If we have some kind of a movement going on(like the Lokpal bill) we would expect our superheroes to lend their support to that too. what If our superheroes choose to give up their powers and live a normal life? Irresponsible! Who gave them the right to do that? Now who will protect mankind from great evils?ðŸ˜But remember one thing-All worship is temporary. Sooner or later a new star will come on the horizon and the old one will die out like a supernova. So is this what we expect our celebs/superheroes to do? Continue serving us until they're old and washed out and we don't want to see them on our TV screens anymore?😆 Coz that's what happens. These people who enjoy public adoration end up dying lonely deaths. So don't they have the right to quit all this for somebody who truly cares about them and will be there by their side even once the 1000000000 fans have disappeared? Don't they have the right to keep their personal interests above the interests of their fans? Please offer your views on this topic. There is no need to bash or be offensive. I am ready to listen to both sides of the coin.😊
