Is destiny in our control...

May be and may be not but it surely does not mean that we keep blaming everything on destiny without moving our asses 😆

The first step would be to believe in destiny before we can blame it...;)

Destiny or fate is a predetermined set of events bound to happen in the near future.

So let us take the example of a delayed flight. Maybe the flight got delayed due to the weather or mechanical troubles or inefficient booking system. There is a reason why all these things happened- because the weather couldn't be predicted correctly or the plane hadn't been properly maintained or some employee had screwed up. Was all of it predetermined?

Another example which I read was about meeting people. We meet people somewhere because we have a reason to be there and so do they.Lets say I run out of shampoo and head to the market and the other person also needs to buy something and we meet.Is running out of shampoo at that point so that I can meet the person my destiny?

The whole concept of destiny weaves around us a false sense of security, we accept the things which have happened to us much more easily when we think of it as 'It was meant to be."

What happens to me is decided by my actions but also the actions of people around me.I can't control the latter part. Also sometimes I don't know that it is their actions which have affected my life, for me this becomes some unknown force and I try to seek answers.Did it happen because of destiny?

'Work hard and leave the rest to destiny.'

I have often heard this but isn't it a contradictry statement? I will work hard so wouldn't my future be changed with that? What 'rest' is there to be left to destiny? I may not get the result I was expecting maybe because I had left out something important or unintentionally I had messed up.Is it destiny? Luck? Fate?

I don't think so as long as I can find a reason behind the things that happen...

It's all about what you believe in and how much do you believe in...

Do you believe that you have made choices that have set you on the right course to meet the person who is meant for you...

I don't think of it like that at all. When I made those choices I wasn't thinking about the course I need to take but about the cleverness of my choice...

And then there are times that your not even making those choices and someone else is making them for you, and you have no awareness of them or the choices, in short everything is related, either directly or indirectly!

It does relate to me but I like to think of it as a part of my life I can't control but not as destiny.I find the concept of destiny very difficult to trust. :))

No one can answer that for you. Keep on searching, I guess.
Test your beliefs, make your models of reality, break them, remake them. The process goes on.

Honestly, I believe, you'll always find a reason for why you didn't get the expected result once you signal to the brain to find the cause. The brain is a very good answer searching device. The point here is I guess not to blame destiny for one's own failures but to simply realize that yes, there is something out there which can't be explained. Just that awareness might be enough.- So the unexplained part is called destiny? To me that sounds like an excuse.

Nopes, didn't mean that. Destiny includes both, the explained and unexplained parts according to me.
My views on destiny are on another post. Perhaps, they'd make sense to you.

I don't think so as long as I can find a reason behind the things that happen...
For some, destiny might be the reason.- For some, may be...
Not pretty enthusiastic for them, huh? 😆
