Haila! So much happened while i was away for just one day! I thought Anu would put up an update to Mona's interview on Popkorn so i didn't bother, but seeing that it isn't up yet, here goes:
Mona was dressed in a striped full-sleeved shirt with her hair open (thank heaven it's straight again!๐) and looked very casual and down-to-earth. The venue was the indiatimes chat (the same one where she said "married, illegal or fattening" ๐in response to my question!๐ณ)
She said that Extreme makeover attempts to help people who have serious facial deformities like a cleft lip, a prominent birthmark or have been victims of acid attacks. "It is true that you if you are not beautiful, then life is not so easy. I'm not saying that only looks are important, but one should have a good personality and be presentable. People who have such scars face many problems--there are girls who can't get married and people are unable to get good jobs."
She said specifically that this show is not for ppl who want to just improve their looks, nor for celebrities, but for ordinary ppl who need help. ๐ She said that as Jassi, she realised how ppl ill-treat someone who is not good-looking. She was hopeful that ppl would be able to connct to the show,as it was about them and such a concept was completely new in India.
Oh yesssssss........the popkorn sms poll of the day asked "Will Mona Singh make a good anchor?" and 76% said yes!๐๐
Thet repeated it on Weekend popkorn which was hosted by Kanchi Kaul. So those who have Zoom can see it at noon tomorrow. Kanchi said that Mona and she have a common friend -- gaurav (Nandu) and he has talked so much to kanchi abt Mona and Mona abt Kanchi that when they finally met, they already knew each other well. Kanchi said that Mona was a very warm and positive person and hoped her show would be a success.๐
