just when i thought that things will take a turn...n here it is... poor maan had a coughing fit looking at her ring...

she can never feel anything when he is there...except for his presence...

n he can never ignore anything abt her...

Part 11: A Complex Complication

It was the kind of thing that was hard not to notice when she was as fair as Indian woman came - her left lobe shaded a dark cherry pink when the dainty circle of metal hugged the fold of her ear as if the constant pinch there was what made her life simple and bearable. As if she had her own little noose to keep her in check.

"Its a commemoration of sorts..." She gave him that shy smile of hers when her eyes blazed with an emboldening sharpness - one of the many affirmations he needed to believe that all was not what met the eye when it came to her, "For having come to the big apple and all. Are you ok?"

Try all he may, but he still couldn't get the image out of his head - the precise moment when he'd turned to catch her stumble with the numbers and yet her eyes had given away that it was rightfully in her place to correct him at the meeting. Her ears hadn't been red then and if his memory served him right, she didn't have the ring on her the last time he'd taken the pencil she'd tucked there.

There were reasons that now took shape in his head, which was nothing short of a blasphemy if he were to vocalize it. But they were only his reasoning and she was still a puzzle piece to him if the afternoon's incident was anything to go by.

She was a bundle of contradictions and a bag of surprises. All this he'd gathered in the time of four days he'd come to know her. He could tell he was all eyes for what she had in store for the future. Or rather, should he say ears...when she'd gone and forged the ring of power that would rule them from then on. Precious...

Whatever game of fate this was, he was ready to play on. There was something easily absolvable about relinquishing restraint in the name of a higher power when he had little choice in the matter. After all she had come back to speak to him and not he who had gone in search of her.

"Yeah! I'm fine..." He finally responded after a full second. "You are going back to the coffee shop...Did you leave something behind?" He asked just as he mentally placed a bet on what the answer to that question was.

Her eyes showed an earnestness that hadn't been there a moment ago as she responded, "No...I wanted to talk to you"

Bingo...The small voice in his head shouted with an unfathomable joy, smugly announcing he'd been right all along. That she was anything but quotidian on any given day.

okay there r two thinks i likes...

first...MY PRECIOUS...the ring that would rule them...this was awesome..👏...

second the last line...he wanted to speak to her...he wanted her to talk to him..n then he couldnt help but jump in joy in his head...😳..as much as he deny that he was right in his assumption that she wanted to speak to him...

Once agaim I m bowled by your writing skills.
You have a totally different style of presenting things..
I wonder how can you do that. Its a very hard task to do.

Coffee n Men... Intresting topic.
I thot only shoes tells abt a gentleman but coffe too..
That makes a man more interesting.
The convo of Geet's gang abt coffee was fabulous.
Gee's mind always goes to Maan.
