It is considered to be not a favorite career all around the world..Many people don't like it.. but leaders are born through this... Those people who guide us !
Politics ... wht constitutes politics... wht is it.. IN practicality plz... we know the "Book definations"...Wht is the requirement to be a politician... why do people go into it... WE (Some of us don't) hate politicians sometimes... becoz we think that they are liars, cheaters, self-centered, power hungry people, and don't work for the welfare of people (And always make claims abt it in public).. etc. etc. So does a person needs to be this and be a good politician? wht abt world leaders.. are they all like this (Yup i know im stereotyping.. but wht is the other side in today's world..not 30 yrs ago?)
Take an example, a normal politician of a rural area.. like a land lord etc. Is he bound to be a small town DON ?? a person like who-walks-nearby-be-sure-to-bow-b4-him !!
Finally.. some day u might discover that u wish to be a politician.. will u go for it... to bring a change in the system? And yeah... If a NORMAL person like u and me..WITHOUT ANY political family background.. wishes to be in this career, is it safe?? is it ok? how good it is for women?
If ur child wants to be a politician, How would u react? (i know u want ur child to do wht she/he wishes to...but wht abt this Career??)
Note: Any politicians or aspiring ones, i meant no offense.
Wow I'm the first one to respond.😃 😃 😃 I've dug out a topic from 5000 B.C.😛
I feel politics as a career is as good as any other field. However, to be a honest politician in countries which are too corrupt takes a lot of gut. Obviously a person will need the public support and ability to make them listen even before he considers to be a politician but that doesn't necessarily mean that he has to be the local goon or don or something, neither does it mean that only liar, self-centered and power hungry people become successful politician. I've heard of some politicians who became politicians and won elections just because of all the social works they do and the people know that they are really here because they care about the common people.
As for the question why people join politics, obviously there are so many people who join politics obviously not for social work. Sometimes it's because they already have money and they want more power, sometimes because they want power to make money, sometimes because they are not suitably educated to do anything else but have the necessary charisma to attract people, etc. etc.
But obviously the question still remains that whether it's safe for normal people without any political family background to venture into politics. Of course it's not and that's why they'll need enormous courage, especially if they want to stay honest.
If someday I find out that I want to be a politician, the first question that I'll ask myself is whether I have what it needs to attract and lead a group of people.
Don't have any child so no idea how I'd react, but obviously I'd like him/her to be absolutely sure before going in that path as this career can be very very slippery with lots of insecurities.
