Indian idol is back to its notoriety of exaggerating and over dramatizing the exits and selections of these tender innocent young ones. One moment they show as if a singer has achieved crowning glory for just getting into the second round and the very next they project as if the world is doomed around the eliminated one. Too much theatrics and melodrama👎🏼.

Out of the top 16, i feel the selection of boys was fair and we can see a bit of competitiveness in the coming rounds. But totally disappointed with the selection of girls. I think the judges were a quite harsh on some of the eliminated singers. They could've given them a second chance keeping in mind their audition performances. After the selection round the judges can't do too much since audience voting will punish them and us viewers by keeping mediocre singers in place of the truly talented ones. Let us hope for the best.

I don't understand the logic of selecting AMITA PANDA & SOHINI MISHRA, both lackluster and shaky. No strong or unique(full bodied instead of thin) voices in the female category this time except maybe SIMRAN.

I had already listed my top 10 earlier in this thread based on the latest round of competition and came to notice that they have selected 16 in place of 15 singers for the Piano rounds. Out of the sixteen, Ten will proceed to The Spectaculars (The new name for Gala rounds). Nine of the top ten will be jury selection and one through audience voting. There is also a mention of a Wild card round for the eliminated singers, so the top 10 might under go a sea change in the course of time.

I know this is a scripted show but pin my hopes on enjoying some great singing and not worrying about nonsense like judge fights, unwanted sermons and the sick drama of eliminations (most irritating when they show it in slow motion).
