Yet Aishwarya (sorry for bringing her in) who does teeny tiny roles is applauded for bringing recognition to India. Hypocrites. Frieda always talks about bollywood and her indian culture during her interviews and actually is a great ambassador for India.

Very well said...I'm not Indian and I'm proud of Freida and what she's accomplished.

It bugs my mind as to why her own cannot be proud of her...

With the competition in Hollywood to appear in magazines...the girl is getting covers of the biggest magazines left and right and these people cannot see that...In case you need it spelled out, It's called promotion...and it is good for her career...

I mean...do you guys know how hard it is to get a cover of a magazine in Hollywood or in a country other than your own?...Even if she was just getting that...by itself...that fact alone makes her a success star.

And as someone mentioned above...she's been in the industry for less than 4 years if I'm correct post slum D. ...and she's done 7 films, 2 of which are blockbusters!! that's amazing!

And in Hollywood...people don't make movies every two weeks like it's done in India...

She is obviously a success story and that's why she's in demand...

And by the way...they just don't put anyone on the cover of a magazine in Europe or US...you have to be able to sell that cover! and obviously she does...otherwise they would not use her...

Sorry also for bringing Ash in this... but as someone who's "known" as the international face of India, how many international big covers had she actually shot in her 10 year plus career???

please give credit where it's due instead of unnecessarily putting the girl down ...just because she lacks the favored skin color per Indian standards...

miral was good..she had a tiny role in immortals and she was good..she was in rise of the planet of the apes.

ya she started with slumdog but she has had good movies had good choices..

does an actress become an actress only by prancing around in item numbers?

i found the overload of posts annoying but that is translating to something else in the comments

lol, do people think landing cover shoots and spreads in leading hollywood/western magazines is an easy feat? That is an achievement in itself. Look at how the Kardashian's always treasure, show so much pride, and savour every magazine shoot/cover they feature in.

This isnt India, where all the non-entities and gormless bollywood stars-- and po*nstars alike, are gauranteed to feature on every magazine that is published in the country, without fail, every single month.

I don't know what its like in India, But here, in the UK, Freida is hot property; she is everywhere! She's on magazine covers because she is relevant right now. And she is always being papped, hence all the candid pictures of her.

Indeed, it is disheartening to see how indians are so judgemental and critical of Freida, despite the fact that she is actually bringing good rep to the country (India). The last time I read about Katrina Kaif in a uk tabloid was when an article was published on NRI's relocating back to India because of better work opportunities/ an easier lifestyle. Katrina was described as a 'failed UK model'. Who decided to try her luck in India instead.

Just because Frieda, has classical indian features, (no blues eyes, fair skin and brown tresses) she is considered 'ugly' and is called a 'housemaid' who is obviously beneath the deign of certain people. (How narrowminded, racist and prejudiced!)

I for one find her to be beautiful (always have!), she is very exotic looking, very dainty and ladylike, and has lovely feminine features. She comes across as a grounded person too; doesnt run her mouth, Isnt egoistical, doesnt gossip, doesnt bitch doesnt adovcate the 'size zero' fad, doesnt call herself numero uno etc. And she has the right to gloat. But she is so humble about her success.

A good role model, I'd say.

She looks stunning and super gorgeous! Love her in the navy blue dress.

And I totally agree with sogaze and enycedoll...Freida should def get credit when due, and it's def due. So strange seeing all this dislike for her b/c she looks "average" in the eyes of few. She is talented...the fact that she can make a lasting impression in a 2-minute role says something about her and her talent. Plus, she is so humble...still despite all the fame and money and stuff.
