CHAPTER 5

They both moved leaving Khushi and Lavanya behind. Arnav turned to see them, Lavanya was busy with something while Khushi was looking at their retreating form. Arnav stopped and a thought crawled up in his mind.

Had he done the right thing by choosing Lavanya over Khushi. He knew that Khushi would have been the perfect wife for him, considering the bond they shared. But he didn't know what was in her mind and he never tried to even. Khushi was someone who was able to keep things in mind unlike himself and Anjali. He had loved her since they were young, but she never gave a hint for something like that. What if Khushi considers him as a brother? If she thought so he will be creating a problem in their wonderful relationship. So he never botherd to ask her, instead chose Lavanya, who was good at heart, caring and understanding. Khushi would fit in his life better but he had no other choice, so he had tried to maintain this relationship.

"Bhai are you lost in bhabhi's beauty ?"

Arnav was brought back to the reality as Anjali questioned him. He couldn't tell her that he was looking at Khushi instead of Lavanya.

"nothing like that. Lets get the ice creams"

Lavanya as Arnav said was really understanding. She somehow knew that Khushi loved Arnav.

"Khushi, if I ask you something will you tell me the truth?"

""Yeah Lavanya, why do you feel that I wont? Just ask"

"Do you love him"

Khushi had never thought that this may be the question. She had no answer to that.

"what do you mean Lavanya? Love whom?"

"Khushi that is why I said I want to know the truth. Do you love Arnav?"

"Lavanya, I don't know how he failed to understand me here. May be because of his character or may be because he considers me like Anji, as a little sister. You are right I Love him. But you don't need to feel insecure about that. We have been like this and we will be too. I wont let my feelings come between your relationship. He is happy with you means I'm happy. Its his happiness that matters to me"

"Khushi you need not sacrifice your love for us, its not that I don't love him, but I can see the love for him in your eyes"

"But he cant right. Thats the problem. Promise me Lavanya that you wont talk to him about this"

"But Khushi"

"Promise me please."

"Ok I wont tell him"

"Thanks"

"Hey guys, you wont tell what? What's happening Khushi?"

"Come on Arnav thats a secret between us. You will come to know that only after your marriage anyways."

"Really.. ok fine"

"Come on lets have the ice cream before it melts"

"OK Anji as you wish"

They had the ice cream.

"Khush why do I feel that you are hiding something from me?"

"Have I ever done that Arnav?"

"No."

'Then what makes you think that I'll hide something from you?"

"That.."

"You don't understand me then. I'm not hiding anything. You were the one to hide your relationship with Lavanya and you are asking me?"

"Does that mean.. do you love someone?"

"Yeah"

"Who?" Arnav was shocked even Anjali was

"But he doesn't love me"

Lavanya felt that Khushi would now tell him the truth that she loved him but..

"Who is it Khushi tell me!!!!" Arnav screamed.

"Virat"

"Who ???"

"Virat Kohli... yeah I Love him, but he doesn't!!! BTW I've told this to you"

"Hey Khushi how dare you say that you love my BF?" Anjali was now out of the shock. Even Arnav was relieved. He had for a minute thought that his Khushi loved him, he didn't know why but he felt so.

Lavanya knew that eventhough Khushi appeared to be happy she was dying inside. She wanted to tell Arnav but she had promised Khushi. She was helpless.

"Arnav when is your engagement?"

"Oh haan, I just forgot. Before engagement we have to go somewhere"

"Where???"

"Anji tum bhool gayi? Kuldevi ke mandir!"

"Haan bhai how did I forget"

"Lavanya we will go in the evening tomorrow, these girls will pick you"

"Arnav, I should also come?"

"Why not Khushi? tumhare bina hamari parivaar adhoori hein"

Khushi was trying hard not to cry and she succeeded without being noticed by the brother and sister.

Arnav then explained to Lavanya the importance of going there. Every pair in their family used to go to this temple before getting engaged. The last pair was Arnav's parents.

Arnav's father was the lone child of his parents and he had married their mom on his parents insistence. But they both were made for each other. They lived happily then Arnav was born, then Anjali. They were a happy family they shifted to RM when Anji was 5 years old. There they met Khushi and rom then they three were inseparable friends.

Lavanya was just watching Khushi's expressions all time while she was fighting her emotions. Even now Arnav and Anjali failed to see Khushi's emotions.

After the day's outing the 4 were damn tired and they retired for the day. They left Lavanya in the hostel and returned home.

Khushi was very sad with all these and next day she had to go with them to Kuldevi's temple. She could not stand that she decided not to go.

She was so tired that she slept as soon as she touched the bed.
