Chapter: 9 A long night without you

It was a misty morning'unlike the past 10 days arnav was sleeping on the bed. Last two nights he was having bad cramps on his back, so he decided to sleep on the bed.

Last 8 days he hardly slept comfortably, fatigue and body pain irritated him throughout the whole week.

On the other hand khushi thanked her devi maiya for giving him cramps, atleast for it he was sleeping beside her.

Last to last night he tossed and turned towards her and smuggled into her breast, digging his face inbetween her swells. Khushi couldnot sleep the whole night. She kept on admiring him and caressing his hair lightly without disturbing his sleep.

Next morning when he got up, he found himself in an embarrassing situation. He breadth a shy of relief to find khushi sleeping. But the least he knew that she wasnot. He quickly got up and went to the bathroom. Khushi opened her eyes and giggled. She touched the place where he kept his head and caressed herself and blushed thinking about it.

Today her sleep was broken by the thunder storm, she gazed the window which was misty, she could only see tiny of raindrops all along the French window. She loves rain she thought. She turned to face arnav who was sleep with his back towards her.

She shifted herself towards him. She admired his back before touching him. She kept on staring at him.

Slowly she shifted a bit more towards him and pressed her soft swells on his back sliding her left hand around his chest under his arms.

Arnav wiggled a little and unconsciously gripped her fingers tangling it with his and pulling it towards his neck and rest there. His face was very near to their hand. Khushi could feel his warm breadth through his open mouth.

She closed her eyes and was lost in the previous night's event. Her lips started tracing his back over his night shirt. While her hand untangled his fingers and slowly moving it down brushing his chest muscles'

Arnav wiggled another time.

Khushi was so lost in his thought that she did not realize that her hands were dangerously down, she kept on moving down further.

Suddenly she felt a sharp pain on her fingers.

Khushi: Aaao! She screamed.

Arnav swiftly moved to her said holding her hand tightly.

Arnav: What the hell were you trying to do khushi? He yelled making khushi flinch.

Khushi was a little surprised with her act. Even she did not know how she did that to him after promising him.

Arnav; This was the reason I did not want to sleep on the same bed.

Khushi sat up and pulled her hand from his grip'" I did not do anything wrong arnav, stop reacting like that "

Arnav: Wrong? Do you have any idea what you were about to do?

Khushi: Yes, I know what I was doing. I was about to touch the part which belongs to me.

Arnav: Are you out of your head?

Khushi: Why arnav? What's wrong with me? Why don't you let me touch you? Why don't you touch me? I don't find any damn reason. Last 10 days we did not even fight so I doubt how much we fought before my accident. Chalo maan leti hoon ki we fought then why I don't feel any negativity?

Arnav fled his quilt and got up.

Khushi: You just cant leave like this without answering me arnav. She stood blocking his way.

Arnav: Khushi! Move

Khushi: No, I will not.

Arnav: Khushi please don't get on my nerves.

Khushi: Oh so I am getting on your nerves now?

Arnav: Khushi, lets just drop the idea.

Khushi: No, I want to talk about it. I cant bear it anymore. Do you even know what you are doing to me?

Arnav: I have no idea what you are talking about.

Khushi grabbed his collar and pulled him towards her. Arnav I was awake the whole time last night.

Arnav's eyes widened.

Arnav gulped'while khushi searched answers in his eyes.

After a minute of silence'arnav finally spoke

Arnav: it wasnot intentional

Khushi: Jhoot

Arnav: Its true

Khushi: It cant be

Arnav: It is.

Khushi: but you enjoyed being in my arms.

Arnav: No khushi! Yeh tumhari galafaimi hai

Khushi: Then you are saying you can sleep like this with any random girl and feel comfortable in her arms?

Arnav: SHUT UP!

Khushi: Then accept it arnav. I don't know why you are avoiding me. Please arnav, I don't see any hatred in your eyes then why?

Arnav: Khushi, I really don't want to discuss this topic. He removed her grip and went towards the bathroom when again grabbed by her.

She grabbed his collar and turned him to face her.

Khushi held his hand and placed it on her head.

TUMHE MERI KASAM HAI ARNAV speak put the truth right now.

Arnav was shocked. He didn't know how to cover it up now. He was looking here and there but not khushi.

Khushi: Look at me and tell me the truth'

Arnav kept quite.

Khushi: Do you'''''.Do''''.she gulped'.DO YOU LOVE SOMEONE?

Arnav looked at her, she looked at him straight in his eyes.

Arnav was about to cup her face but she moved back

Khushi: Arnav answer me please

Arnav closed his eyes

Khushi: ANSWER ME ARNAV

Arnav: Yes!

Khushi moved 3 step backward, shocked at his answer. She did not know how to react'she shifted her gaze from him and looked down to the floor. Her vision was getting blured due to her tears welling up in her eyes. She couldnot hold it more and 3-4 drops fell on the ground.

Khushi moved 4-5 steps back and finally hit the nearest wall, while arnav stood still on the place where he was.

He opened his eyes'and saw a shattered khushi in front of him. He felt worse than ever. He did not feel this bad when he avoided her or scolded her. Today he felt horrible.

Arnav tried to come near her and hold her.

But khushi stopped him by putting her hand forward stopping him placing her palm on his chest, while her checks were drenched with her tears.

She pushed him back and ran away.

Arnav closed his fist and remember her carrying in his arms while he got her in the hospital. His blood socked shoulders, her pale face, the doctors rushing in trolly inside the OT while he stood near the operation theater, hoping her to servive.

Arnav open his eyes and walked out of his room

Arnav: Khushi! He yelled.

Kaka saw khushi running towards the guest room'so he pointed arnav.

Arnav ran down the stairs.

He tried to open the door of the guest room but it was locked.

He knocked'and knocked and knocked.

But she did not open.

He accepted his defect and came and sat on the dining table.

After about 10 mins sitting there alone suddenly a fear came in his mind. He immediately stood up and ran towards the guest.

He started knocking the door continuously

Arnav: Please khushi open the door he said in a worried tone. Open the door damn it. He finally hit the door with his leg and banged hard with his palm. "Please open the door sweetheart"

He closed his eyes'mellowed his voice a tiny tear formed in his eyes.

Finally he heard the click of the lock. Without wasting time he opened the door and saw her standing right in front of him. He stormed towards her and hugged her tightly.

Arnav: Don't'''.dont'''..you do'that'..ever''.a..again ,,,,,khu'.khushi (he stammered) I would have never forgiven myself if something had happened to you'..hugging her tightly.

She stood like a statue'without any reaction.

"I WANT TO GO HOME ARANV"

Arnav opened his eyes and broke the hug'he faced himself to see khushi who looked down all the time.

Arnav: Khushi!

Khushi: I want to go to my dad's place

Arnav: Listen to me, I am'..I am really'''.

Khushi: Are you going to drop me? Or should I ask him to pick me up?

Arnav: felt very very sad. He didn't want to hurt her at all but'''

Khushi: Are you listening to me?

Arnav: Khushi! Ek baar'.

Khushi: That's it'she picked up her phone and was about to dial'

Arnav held her hand and stopped her from calling. I will drop you.

Khushi gathered some clothes from their room, while arnav watched her painfull face.

Khushi: Chale? She said shooting her anger towards him.

Arnav nodded and took her hands, while she removed it.

Both of them sat quietly inside the car.

Khushi saw her father standing right at the main entrance. Her eyes welled up, she released the seat belt, open the door and ran towards her dad and hugged him tightly.

Shashi was aware of the whole thing and he decided to remain quiet. Arnav has told him everything while khushi went to the bathroom to change before they came

Arnav came near them after stopping the can in the entrance and threw a sorry look to shashi. While he threw an understanding look to him.

Khushi: Dad I want to stay with you for few day'I don't know for how many days but I don't want to stay with him.

Shashi concoled her by rubbing her back.

Khushi entered her house without looking at arnav for the last time. And anrav suddenly felt a pain of loosing something which was very precious to him.

He sat on the bench in a park for sometime, all lost in her thoughts and finally reached his home.

He went straight upto his room.

For the first time in his life he felt hollow in his room. She was missing he thought and it was not giving him a good feeling.

He grabbed his pillow and he doesnot even know what made him go to the guest room and lie down there.

He tossed and turned. He couldnot bare the emptiness beside him. He touched the other side of the bed and caressed the bed sheet remembering her presence.

It was a long night without a sleep.
