'It's always the quiet ones'

I'm sure all of you are familiar with this used and recycled quote. So the curiosity is how much depth does the quote hold? Is it true? Or is it just stereotypical. Many people usually say individuals who are quiet have allot more to give, they have many unfolded layers inside of them which are invisible to the world. Are quiet people completely different behind closed doors?

Topic made out of sheer boredom and curiosity ^-^

Would love to hear your thoughts! Toodles.

This does hold true.
My father is a good example for this. He is so calm, recluse, never talks much, he's a man of few words and...you'd never guess what kind of an intelligent calculating man he is 😆 I didnt know him much when I was small, all my dad and me did was play together, care for each other ..but as I grew up, I started realising what kind of an intellectual & emotional encyclopedia he is 😃
These people are very calm, simple...when you look at them, it feels as if they dont know anything, but it's the TOTAL opposite once you look beyond their calm quiet exterior.
I say, they are calm because they already know too much. When you know too much, you dont feel the need to go out there and speak... unless you are required to. My father was never socializing types, he'd rather read something or enjjoy music than socialize 😆 And whenever he's in some function or something, he'd just sit back and listen to everyone, watch them and speak only if required, that too if HE FELT his opinions were required, he sure is friendly and warm.. but that's again a different thing! He mostly spoke when he felt it was needed, otherwise never.. 😆 when someone personally comes to him and asks for his opinion, he really tells them and advises them, helps them out etc.
Calm people are dangerous, highly intelligent and most grounded, stable of all people in my view 😆 and... trust me, when a calm person opens up to you, he does it heartfully, you too feel very special when they open up to you.
My bestfriend isnt calm exactly, she's all fun and vivacious, but she's closed to everyone in emotional and "deep thoughts" aspects. She goes all calm and puts on her ignorant nonchalant face when she's confronted with emotional things. 😆 She never really says what she feels and thinks to anyone. Thing is she opened up to me and says that I'm the first person she's been this open to, and the first time we had a heart-to-heart conversation...she cried and got very emotional.
These people are very beautiful people, ateast I find my father and my friend beautiful 😆
All the calm people have something to teach you when they open up... which the others cant, I have noticed this. They have their own way of looking at life...which is has beauty .
Now, I am saying this purely based on my experiences 😆 sorry for the long post :P

Quiet ones! They generally have a charm about them, don't they? Many are intimidated by them, most don't know how to get along with them and either push them into the limelight or just plainly ignore them. The reason is simple. They are a rare breed! We, in general, are addicted to talking and silence is presumed to be "awkward"; and here we have a guy who is listening to everyone attentively but not putting in the least effort to make himself heard. Intriguing we say; the we, who are lovers of spotlight. And then we start judging them, as we all must do to retain sanity, and share(impose) our judgement with those around us, which we also must do, to boost our ego. The judgement is generally too elevating or too harsh and is made primarily with the purpose of evoking a tiny bit of response from the mouth of the quiet one. The quiet one is however accustomed to misinformed judgement, and deals with it like he deals with all other situations--quietly.
The above description does seem to paint a rosy picture of the quiet ones, but that is fallacious. What I've tried to portray is simply the inadequacy of the public in general while dealing with them.

The quiet ones, themselves, can be of various types. But the two categories I'd like to put them into are the ones who are born introverts and the others who become introverts. I think, what is common to both of them is that they do put a lot of value on "thinking". Those who are born introverts and remain so are perhaps the way they are, just naturally! They have never tried a different personality, so why they are so is difficult to answer. The others who become quiet in the course of their lifetime, generally do so because perhaps, they just become secure individuals. There's no rush to defend themselves or to prove themselves as they have realized things through their own observation and that always has a glorious satisfaction. They understand that words can't express that which has to be experienced and they understand it fully, so there's no pretentiousness. They might value the art of listening more than that of speaking because of its obvious advantage of adding to their knowledge, which they value a lot.
However, as a person grows quieter, there's a tendency to look inward, looking for solutions to questions of all kinds. But there's a tendency to ignore answers which might lie in front of them on the outside. They perhaps, love an inner struggle and cherish the fruit!

A category of people who particularly interest me are those who have a quiet look of determination on their face. They themselves, might not be quiet per se but they are quiet about what is important to them. I have always wondered and hence vacillated between positions of sharing things with people and being distant from them in this regards, making promises only to myself. I hope to settle down!!

i think it is true...there are definitely many layers to a person who is quiet which are not known to everyone because the quiet people dont open up with just everyone...

the above two posts have explained pretty much everything about it... and i agree with them..

as to why a person is quiet, there could be many reasons,
a) he/she is not confident enough to share their views openly
b) they are highly reserved by nature
c) they take time to open up and they only form close friendships/relationships with people who can understand them or with whom they are comfortable with..

such people can be said to have two personalities..with the strangers or not very close people they remain quite and just observe things whereas when they are with someone they are close to or comfortable with they be themselves and may even talk a lot...

the quiet ones are not always the dangerous ones, or the smart ones or the confident, satisfied ones, they could be insecure, scared, confused lot also...

to the world they just appear to be mysterious because they dont express themselves often like the other people would do...

Yes, it is the quiet ones, not always but mostly.

People who don't talk much end up not giving away much about their characters. It could simply be a case of introversion or they could be doing on purpose. Ever noticed people going all quiet when a certain topic of conversation arises? That's them, the on-purpose quiet ones. Basically, everyone who is quiet is sure to not divulge much information about themselves but as it so happens, when you get to know any of these sorts of quiet people, you realize as to just how much you did not know about them. Also, just how much knowledge they have to offer, sometimes!

People could remain quiet due to several reasons, you know? The point is, quietness keeps them from getting their thoughts apparent and their voices heard.

I feel like it's true majority of the time but not always.
A lot of people who don't talk much do have layers to them that just need to be opened before you completely get to know them. I do know a lot of introverts, they're shy and barely talk but once you get to know them you realize how much more they have to offer.Be it knowledge, wisdom or something else.

Now the other people who are quiet are just quiet for being quiet [I hope you get what I'm saying :) ]

I have a friend who is not exactly an introvert but she likes to talk less and laugh more at what others say and so she is generally perceived as a quiet person. She was one of the performers at our farewell. She danced with the right attitude, with all the correct expressions and moves on a fast number such that we were all left slack jawed. We talked about it for days, wondering if she was the same person who hardly ever spoke. We were all quick to judge her and boy, did she prove us wrong! Its always the quiet ones indeed!
