Here's the latest on Mani Ratnam's "Kadal", which despite taking off on March 1, has seen many a delay and confusion. We hear that the ace filmmaker, who wanted to get done with the project quickly, has now issued a new diktat ' ordering his entire cast and crew to keep quiet and ensure no further delays. The director, we understand, aims to release it by the end of this year.
A source tells us, "The film was first haunted by the woes of the strike between the producers and the technical workers. Later, when they began shooting for the film, Mani chose to change the camera being used as he wasn't satisfied."
Following this, there was the replacement of the film's heroine Samantha with his original choice Thulasi (daughter of yesteryear actress Radha), which has added more confusion to the planned schedule.
The source adds, "He has asked his team to maintain a distance from mediapersons and refrain from divulging details to even family and friends. The team, especially since it involves two first time actors, Gautham and Thulasi, as the lead pair, is doing everything to follow the director's rules."
ACTOR KARTHIK KEEPS QUIET TOO
In order to avert any possible confusion or divulgence about "Kadal" or his son Gautham, actor Karthik too has chosen to stay away from media interactions until his son gets the green signal from Mani Ratnam.
