I had originally posted this in reply to lovelyme12's post "some good some bad news..EDITED".
But was recommended [by Suchi.R ~ thank u!] to make a new post of it...apparently I may not be the only one thinking along these lines!
So...here it is...let the minority speak 😉
I'm sorry, but just NO. Spoilers of future track aside, I think we are missing the point, imo!
I may be in the minority, but I gotta say...changing the track just because one of your actors wants more love, is just. plain. crazy.
Changing it because you think track is crap, I get.
Changing it because one of the leads had to go on a film shoot, I don't like but I can accept.
Tweaking because actors come & go, need time off etc, ok
But compromising your storyline because an actor is threatening to leave and in effect leveraging her fan base to apply pressure so she gets extra screen time...I don't know guys, that doesn't sit well with me.
I like Daljeet and she does personify Anjali's role very well; and should she have left we all would have been sad. But lets face it...if that had happened (ie she had left), we would have thrown her a fabulous farewell party, made lots of GIFs to commemorate the occasion, chucked in a few VMs, sent her some flowers and wished her extremely well in her future projects. ...what we would NOT have done is set up a picket line and camped outside of 4lions offices demanding that they change their decision, that she was the only one born on this planet to play the role, and that all die hard fans were boycotting until further notice => which no doubt we totally, definitely, most ardently would have done had it been (God forbid, tauba tauba, nazar na lag jai, chi!) either one of the lead pair in this situation !!!
I admit, I can say this more easily because it is neither Barun or Sanaya...but that IS the point. I'd be sad and would take time to adjust to a new face, but I can do without Daljeet if I am brutally honest. What I can't seem to swallow is compromise being made to the storyline to pacify her! I'm not saying don't flesh out her role more, in fact yes, give her more screen time, but along with that, give her a brain (I know it's there, pretty sure she has used it before!), open eyes, ears and a mouth - ie, try the naya soch tag for Star Plus and make this woman into a non-typical co-lead! Making her misunderstand her sis-in-law, making her bro choose between herself and his wife, blindly following her husband, and worse of all, putting a chink into the firm foundation upon which we actually treasure her role as Anjali, ie her undying love for her brother for whom she would do anything and has in fact disagreed with her hubby over before...I don't know about you...but...doesn't this all sound familiar? Like maybe we have seen this before somewhere?!
Why does there have to be a MisUnderstanding for there to be riveting drama?
What's happened to the creative originality and magic based on new soch?!
SaRun bring the magic everyday, every time, in every situation [yes, I loved the supernatural conversation, it was beautifully written and perfectly executed because of them!], but yaar, they also need support from the other characters/storyline/direction/etc - else why waste budget on them! - and so the creative originality applies to all as well, holistically.
Re future track, clearly not finalised ~ so comments is really a wish list.
But if this spoiler is true, then yes, I am disappointed - for the reason above, and because I am sick of MUs. full stop.
- don't want extension of existing ArHi MU (which for the record needs to be concluded like yesterday, as it takes gold for being the longest, silliest mother of an MU; even though it has given us some cute moments, 'll be honest, I haven't replayed them like a gazillion times as I have done on pre wedding episodes!)
- don't want a new MU between Arnav & Anjali - or atleast, not a looong one! Gul said a track should average 100 episodes...that's between 4-5 months...r u kidding me? Arnav & Khushi still unhappy for ANOTHER 5 months! Forget them, I will die! and OFCOURSE ArHi will be unhappy if the siblings are fighting, or misunderstanding, or whatever. Khushi will be distraught cause Arnav & Anjali will be distraught. Arnav will be distraught cause Khushi & Anjali are distraught. Anjali will be distraught cause of snakewa, khushi and arnav...yada yada, etc etc.
I mean, it's circular. Something has to break. I want it to be snakewa's face, followed by his ass. Justice demands it goddamit! I want Anjali to become a stronger woman out of this, so Daljeet can have as much or as little screen time as she wants! I want ArHi to have more than 5 mins of being in sync. They are sooo overdue for a proper legit conversation it's not funny anymore.
How can we be happy for ArHi if ArHi do not have peace in their love? and they won't as long as there is a MU floating about, with whomever it may be!
