Few weeks back, I remember opening a thread called chrysalis and saying that Arnav has entered the Pupae stage and is undergoing sea changes within his makeup ...A change that is fast and furious but not entirely visible to the naked eye apart from some involuntary convolutions...Today the chrysalis stage is completed and out steps a Monarch , fluttering its wings ready to fly, his gaze firmly fixed on the stars, communing with his heart , at peace with himself and one with the love that he always chased away and yet sought and fought for valiantly ...Today was the day when Arnav willingly broke the fortress , built around his heart, Today was the day Arnav found himself physically restrained , kept captive but his rebellious spirit broke the shackles and soared unfettered by insecurity, lies, ego...he soared into the Night sky like the wind , His path lit by the stars guiding him to his sacrarium...His place of refuge !!Birth was the death of him.Samuel Beckett ....Today Arnav was born at the cost of death, Death of cynicism, death of suspicion, death of arrogance... born was Humility,humbleness and acceptance ...
Todays episode was not content rich, would be ludicrous to the logical minded one's but would be a veritable feast to the romance lovers esp those brought up on the diet of M&B where Spirit n soul transcended the Physical Plane...
The Mighty ASR who would scorn to sit on the floor, who would never ever find himself among squalor now finds himself placed just among that surrounding .. unable to re write his Kismat, a helpless puppet at the hands of Puppet ... what a cruel way to teach him humility but sometimes it is necessary to be cruel to be kind , It is necessary to be cruel to bring the true nature of a man , A nature buried underneath many layers , impossible to be got out in natural course but has to be shocked out ...
The scene opened with Arnav sitting in the den, a picture of dejection, Head bowed the defiance against fates/destiny in abeyance while on the other side Khushi sits by the Pool, imprisoned by the love of Arnav, hostage to the newly discovered emotions, captive to memories ...yearning to be with the man who gave her grief, longing to be with the man who gave her happiness , yearning for the man who humiliated her at every turn, longing for the Knight who upheld her honor at every turn ... A Paradox, a enigma, a devil ... her prince Arnav Singh Raizada !!
Arnav suddenly senses Khushi, his whole bearing changes as he realizes the love and thoughts of Khushi swirling around him... He looks up at the stars , finally listening to the counsel given to him eons ago by a chit of a girl who would one day shake the edifice of his very being...with the Benevolent eyes of the stars upon him..Arnav confidently calls out to Khushi...
Arnav, " Khushi Can u hear ME ?" ..Khushi , " Hamesha "... .. Kudos to the Hi-Ri for this opening salvo ... A simple sentence but the answer lay in Khushi's response ... When Arnav asked can U hear me ? He was not talking about the present communication status but rather the query was could she hear the orphan who was kept hidden from the plain view, could she hear the voice of the vulnerable young man who was always searching for his El dorado ..His own land of unconditional love.. could she hear the voice of loneliness, Pain, desolation which was covered by the voice of cynicism,arrogance, hatred...Khushi responds that she always heard only the voice of love , She always heard HIM , the true him and responded to HIM ..
Then ensues a brief scene showing the metamorphoses of Arnav from ASR ...A moment where we get a glimpse of the tortured soul who had traversed a long , rocky road , A mortal who had been engaged in a combat against love and trust ..today that warrior has placed down his weapons , accepted the bone that has been thrown at him ..Gracefully accepts the strictures of his wife when she says that ."It is a matter of Faith , Then & Now " .. A small smile devoid of any sarcasm, any superiority but of wonder, of mild surprise but completely embracing the changes wrought in him by a girl whom he wanted to hate but ended up falling helplessly in love and surrendered himself to her unconditionally !!
The conversation continues unimpeded by the physical distance ..Both the hearts attuned to one another ..Arnav admitting that he tried to hate her but could never do so as his heart contained only love for her and Khushi retorting that she too tried not to love him but her heart had a 'mind' of its own and refused to obey her !...Interesting phrasing of their respective emotions by both Khushi and Arnav.. reiterating again that shorn of pretense , Arnav and Khushi are the passengers in the same boat ...rowing in the ocean called Love ...each moving towards the same destination... both finally understanding that they need one another to complete , to be whole !! both realizing that their love has transcended the boundaries of Physical law and has deepened to an extent that even the God's above bend before the power of their love and pave the way for their Union .
I loved the closure of ' HAMESHA'.... The 'HAMESHA ' was opened by Khushi whn she replies that she ahs always heard him and the 'HAMESHA' gets closed when Khushi asks him whether he can hear the rhythmic beating of her heart , Arnav to her surprise responds that Yes !! He always/HAMESHA has had heard the pulsating beat of the heart ... Two Lovers who were cognizant of one another's love, felt the presence of love, came alive in each other's presence , acknowledge the purity of their feelings , their emotions ...for eternity ya phir shayad HAMESHA ke Liye !!
The Usage of Light was done effectively too..Arnav sitting in the darkness , illuminated by feeble artificial lights which serves more to emphasis the darkness enveloping Arnav rather than dispelling it, looks up at the shining lights/stars up on the sky placed by the Heavens ...The Lights take Arnav to the spot where Khushi is sitting , a powerful ray of light , cosmic light shining full on her, on her heart ... The Stars Guide Arnav from the darkness to brightness .. where Khushi awaits him !!
Khushi sleeping soundly on the bed is awakened when the source of power is cut and she finds herself scared ...Her fingers begin to maul the quilt in anxiety and mounting fear as her stricken eyes wander hither and tither ...when memory assails her and reminds her of another occasion when she found herself in total darkness and that darkness was dispelled by her Arnavji ... she draws strength from him, their memory...
Her calming nerves further gets a boost when a door opens, Khushi rushes towards the opening impulsively thinking it to be Arnav but it turns out to be Shyam... who advances into the room , holding a candle which he hands over to Khushi ...Shyam tries to mark his territory but is strongly repelled by Khushi, Shyam leaves and another shadow comes in, this time a welcome shadow who is none other than NK ..who soothes her frayed nerves , gets her focus back on to the mission on hand...
The candle light has many significance in christianity and Judaism , However I will not be taking it today and am restricting myself to the simplest explanation ... here the focus was on the Light/candle/chirag, ...who is the chirag of the Raizada's , The chirag in Khushi's life ... the girl who did not feel fear when that Chirag was with her during another encounter with darkness ...Damn right, It was n is Arnav !! ..what does Shyam do..caught in the growing lust , unable to dam his craving, like a moth caught in the flames of candle [ Khushi], Shyam moves towards Khushi entranced , his attention and focus riveted fully on Khushi ...almost absently handing her Arnav /candle on a platter so to speak...Khushi though petrified takes the candle and firmly enthrones it in its rightful place while Shyam has no other recourse than beating a retreat ...
Next comes the role of NK...for days I was perplexed by the necessity of this character ..I had even openly wondered why NK was needed... I think today I got the reason why ??... In my previous posts, I had said Akash is the Bharat who will be the surrogate king to the AR empire ...today we had a glimpse of Lakshman in NK, A Lakshman who keeps a watch over Sita/Khushi in the absence of Arnav, A Lakshman who will be the witness to the purity of Khushi...A Lakshman who constantly adjures Khushi to be careful, to not get gulled and not be impulsive but the lessons of Ramayan are a painful reminder , aren't they... Sita did an impulsive act and it lead to chaos , destruction ...
The next scene to capture my attention is that of Anjali-Shyam-Khushi n Kheer ...The door has opened a chink in previous episode ... Anjali who had been quite happily living in her bubble gum land has begun to discover the striations appearing on her perfect world... The Kheer of Khushi which was just a lip away from Shyam, slips from his grasp and the bowl is handed back to Anjali .. Shyam becomes Anjali's puppet again , dancing to her tunes , but his eyes fixed on freedom aka Khushi... Looks like DB's conditions are working for we see a slight deviation in the track .. as Anjali is beginning to get restive, has begun to notice the extra closeness and has cooled down towards Khushi slightly ...will the PH go the whole hog in placating DB and throwing the TRP's to the wind [ cos whatever they may say and howsoever strong plot they may give at the end of the day viewer's have signed up for Arnav-Khushi Love story and not Anjali's story...Anjali is a canvas and she must be a overpowering PRESENCE ...Presence being the watchword ] plunge headlong into Anjali's track ..leading to rift between the siblings or heavens above , the possible sacrifice of Arnav ...The rift between siblings would make a great watch and had always been there in the story line right from the Rakhi days before the major shift happened in the plot line... Are the CV's reverting back to their previous track n reworking it and is that why the kidnapping track is being stretched despite Barun being available ...while on the other hand, Any sacrifice of Arnav would not be welcome now as the viewer's have not seen any loving moments between the couples and would give a short shrift to the show if Arnav and Khushi were to have their distances again !!
The Akash Payal Track seems to have been downgraded in its intensity and seems to be hovering on middle ground between comic serious and comedy ... will deal with this couple some other time ... So the Bird is going to sing ... seduce it with scent, lull it and hypnotize it and the cuckoo bird which builds its nest in the homes of other birds will begin to sing ... Now which is the character which has made its place , its home in the residence of another bird ...None other than Shyam Manohar Jha ...so the Bird is going to sing soon ...we are waiting ...
