Earlier directors could choose an actress who suited the bill perfectly. Now it's become confusing as more than one girl is apt for the role. Apparently Karan Johar and director Punit Malhotra are in a dilemma as to who suits the role for their forthcoming venture - Anushka Sharma or Parineeti Chopra.
Says a source, "The requirement is of a loud, exuberant, bubbly, middle class Punjabi girl who plays the romantic lead opposite Imran Khan. Karan and Punit are undecided as to who can fit the bill as both look perfect for the part. Apparently Karan has been telling people that he would love to cast Parineeti as she reminds him of a younger Kajol with the same on-screen charisma, and a fiery and bubbly attitude. It's also a tough choice as both Parineeti and Anushka have played bubbly and extrovertish characters on-screen before - Parineeti in her debut film and Anushka in Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi and Ladies vs Ricky Bahl."
However the source adds that there's another problem where Anushka is concerned. "She's already acting in Vishal Bharadwaj's next film, Matru Ki Bijli Ka Mandola, which will release before Punit's so the freshness of the pairing will be lost. Parineeti and Imran have never been cast before so that pairing makes it more interesting."
