It's goodbye for
Aasaman Se Aage

Going off air just three months since its launch, this development shocks its producer and actors

Less than three months since it went on air, Life OK's Aasaman Se Aage, launched on 23 April, has been axed due to its low TRPs.

Apoorva Agnihotri

The fictional show, which revolves around the behindthe-scenes manipulations of dance reality show, managed to earn only 0.5 to 0.7 TRP while on air. It will go off air in mid July after completing a three-month run.

Producer Nilanjana is stoic about this development. "We have been told that the show will go off air in a while. It was a big shock," she says. "We spoke to the channel but they seem to want to change the line-up and there was nothing we could do about that. I think the premise of the show was different and it got a fair share of attention. Given time it would have caught on with the audiences. Any show should get at least three months to grow and engage the audiences with the storyline and characters."

Apoorva Agnihotri, the leading actor of the show who returned to the small screen after a hiatus, is very dejected. "I don't think the show was given a fair chance," he says. "Even Mahadev which is doing well today, wasn't a runaway instant hit. It got time to develop and get TRPS. Don't air shows for two-three months and expect magical results."

Three factors probably worked against the show, feels the actor. One, it was launched during the IPL. Two, it wasn't promoted well. And three, competition from rival channels. "Our average rating was 0.6, with my entry getting 0.8 TRPs," says the actor. "The new kids on the show are very disappointed as they worked really hard."

@BOLD - Well said!

It's really unfair that they judged ASA's TRPs which isn't aired for even more than 3-4 months. Life OK sucks - End of the discussion!

Thnks Tanu 😊

Aww Apurva u r a sweetheart !!🤗 I know how u are feeling I am proud of you and an ardent fan of your work...I loved DC and will always keep doing it.. You have put in so much effort in this show encouraging young talent and watching them and you said there was so much positive energy know how it feels...I think its totally unfair from the channel part to have taken such a decision ...
All I wish is to see you be on television 4 ever and come back in a role super soon...

After July 13th I want to hear that you are back in another meaty role..

Axing a show within 3 months and not giving it proper duration to viewers is really a bad judgement for the channel VERY Disappointed with LIFEOK 👎🏼.. This show deals a lot of understanding of mind and inner strenght of talent when they wish to aim high on the path of fame and for this generation but its totally unfair of the channel 😡

DC is Fantastic role you got and will always be remembered!!

I feel sad for Apurva and the casts.😭

They are giving their life and soul to their performances , it's not even 2 months how can the channel expect high TRP's.😡

A very good article, thanks for sharing. Life ok never intended to back this unique concept. Launching it during IPL showed their hypocrisy. I was always against launching this show during IPL 😔 .
Anyways agree totally with all is said in this article, I just hope to see the producer and Apurva doing another show together as it was the first time a show tapped the full potential of this amazing talent powerhouse called 'APURVA AGNIHOTRI'. I mean just this once there is no need for DC to change as I dont think producers will stop running after trps and I just about hope we get to see DEV CHOPRA and his father in the same frame.
Apu , I understand your dejection. You wanted to protray a very powerful character and the channel pulled the plug denying you that apportunity but there might be other good offers that will surely come your way , do take one and come back soon. No long breaks this time , please dont make your royal fans wait for a long period for your next role.

Please note, july 13 means not even 3 months😡

Yea i feel really bad for the cast and everyone that's worked on it...they must have had really high hopes for this show...and so did we...it's a good show n could have been even better if they gave them more time. They can't expect a show with a unique concept and when it's on a fairly new channel to get really high TRP's straight off the bat...it need's to be given time to develop properly.
It's jus really upsetting ! 😔 And now everytime i watch it i'm like damn it's gonna finish soon...there was so much left to explore...characters...storylines...
I wonder how they're gonna wrap it up in one month...but whatever they do i'm sure they'll do the best they can !

The shows on LifeOK took n+1 months to get their grades leaving just one as even before ASA started I used to follow the channel ri8 from its interception...

All the channels show reality show, But no one has actually depicted the understanding behind the reality show how things change with the weakness strenght of indivduals, how stories dwell around the characters who are these contestants making the story believable to the audience why they create these environments .. all these angles verdicts judgemenst turmoils twists and turns the producers influx for the audience, how the fixed candidate always gets the cake the more talented is shadowed due to many permutation combinations, All triggered by the producer director and individuals own strength fighting against any odds bringing their positive outcome...
A show like this is for the people who wish to seek goals to be famous overnite fame , connection to audicne.. all the dramatization is so important .. When seeing a show like ASA I can definetly say that the reality shows dance music all have the dramatization part and ASA is an eye opener to it and DC ( Apurva) is giving such an approach which portrays such angles...and he is characterized to show such situations..
Wonderful attempt by PH , and this channel was the only channel who had not pulled in any reality show and this is an ice berg to show both reality show dancing by these young talents as well as the dramatization below the surface ...

The show has some many angles, Channel should understand the depth which could be given only with allowance of more duration as it was getting through the perks with the following storyline and it was needed...

We audience who are following such a show are big time at disappointment atleast for me who follows reality show commercial shows whatever and can easily map the way this works...

"Even Mahadev which is doing well today, wasn't a runaway instant hit. It got time to develop and get TRPS. Don't air shows for two-three months and expect magical results."

so true👏. I m watching mahadev from the very first episode ,it started to get good TRP from the couple of weeks. & its running for a long time .lifeok is not star plus that any show which will start will reach the top instantly . If we look at the TRP of ASA its 0.6 thats quite good enough for a two month old show & top it all lifeok's other shows such as amirth manthan getting similiar TRP 0. 63. & its started much before ASA launched 🥱.

Highly disappointed 😭
