Has Manyata ever reminded any of you of King Lear (from one of Shakespeare's plays) ? Lear always trusted his enemies and turned away those who genuinely cared for him. For example, he hands over his property to two of his eldest daughters-Goneril and Regan after they flatter him with sugar-coated words. However, he turns down and disowns Cordelia, because she didn't declare her love for Lear (her father) using sugar-coated words.
In this case, Akash (at present) and Jainandini remind me of Regan and Goneril of King Lear since Manyata trusts these two like there's no tomorrow, and Uday reminds me of Cordelia and Kent (although Uday is a flawed hero, there are some similarities between them) who Manyata hates and curses 24/7. After banishing Cordelia, Lear also banishes Kent from his kingdom, but Kent disguises himself just so that he can go and protect Lear. This reminds me of Manyata sending Uday to jail after the sword fight and then Uday coming to her rescue by buying the house which she sold off due to her stupid mistake. Vijay bhai reminds me of The Fool who gives Lear (Manyata) important advice through his witty jokes (Vijay bhai's one-liners), which obviously falls in deaf ears since Lear (Manyata) refuses to act upon his advice. Brijraj reminds me of Gloucester who appears to be very weak at the beginning of the play and is apparently an adulterer since he has fathered an illegitimate son. This reminds me of Brij-Maya-Komal-Manyata and J angle. Who knows! Maybe he has an illegitimate son/daughter as well who he has concealed somewhere in this planet for the time being.
Basically at the end of the play Cordelia dies and by then Lear turns into a complete whacko and regrets his wrongdoings, but it was too late. I just hope this doesn't happen in the show. Manyata the scatterbrain better realize kaun apna aur kaun paraya before it's too late.
